Oh spring, how I love thee.

Thursday, March 06, 2008

It's springtime here, is it spring time where you are? It's still a little chilly, and muddy...and muddy. But in Oregon it's muddy all but about five days out of the year, so I'm used to it.

The trees are starting to bud out, and some of them are even starting to get blossoms. I love this time of year, everything starts to wake up from winter, get some color and it all leads into wonderful warm days. It makes me happy.

This time of year also means I can start toddling around my yard again. I love gardening, it's extremely cathartic for me and I get some sort of sick high off of not killing all my plants. If I can keep plants alive, then surely there is hope for me somewhere, right?

I went out and bought about 50 bucks worth of new stuff to put in this weekend. I got some Daphne after smelling it in bloom at a friends house, wow, that's some amazing stuff right there. I also got another Jasmine bush, some pansies (one of my favorites, they look like panda bears) and some primroses. I also got some hanging baskets for my porch.

Now all I have to do is rake and weed the beds and put some new soil in and I'm ready to plant. I'm so excited. Yay for spring!

Here in Southwestern Ohio...we are having a blizzard. Yes...a blizzard. We got like 6 inches of snow today...and we're getting more tonight, I think. AHHHHHHH!. lol. I cannot wait to see flowers bloom. This snow has got to go.

Well, right now it is raining like cats and dogs, is in the 30's, and by midnight they are expecting snow and sleet. So much for our spring. I guess the groundhog saw his shadow!
