Back on Track but needing down time

Tuesday, March 04, 2008

I've over done things a bit and maybe set my goals a bit higher than I should have. But, I'm learning. I plan to do a mini-Triathlon on May 4. I probably rushed things a bit with my training plan for this week. This morning I was really dragging. I ran a bit over two miles on Saturday, mucked stalls and toted water for over an hour on Sunday and completed a pretty hilly ride in just over an hour last night. Oh, and I also did weight training for 55 minutes on Saturday.
I have not had a decent night sleep in 3 days.
Ok - maybe my body is trying to tell me something? I had planned to swim tonight, but now I'm thinking the time might be better spent resting.
I have got to learn to schedule down time!

Jack LaLanne is 93 and still works out two full hours every single morning of his life including 30 minutes of swimming laps. He says we can't push ourselves too hard, because our bodies just keep getting stronger. It is NOT using our bodies that kills us.

I am tired just reading all your activities! LOL. I hope you get the down time you deserve.

Sounds like a GREAT plan. You know you have to refuel the body- and sleep is an important component!

You can do it. Take it one day at a time.
