It's time to get serious. I managed to gain the Holiday 5 plus a few pounds during the last part of 2007. I had started to get back on track, then got sick at the end of January for about a week. That week was followed by a week of general sloth. I did an encore of sickness and then finally dragged myself into the gym on Sunday.
Talk about discouraging.... Before my 3 week slump, I had been able to do 66 minutes on the elliptical (2 consecutive weight loss cycles) and jog a mile and a half. Sunday I barely made it for 30. Yesterday was the same, although I did manage to do some light weights before I gassed. Today felt a little better. I haven't mustered the courage to hit the treadmill again yet. It's amazing how quickly you can lose your momentum and conditioning.
Then to add to it, I did my measurements today - I've gained THREE INCHES on my waist since Jan. 18. *whimper* Forget about fitting into the cute gym outfits I had gotten myself as a reward for all my previous hard work.
Today is my last day of dietary cheating (I hope) for a while. I leave for Colorado on March 18 to see my family. My goal is to be down at least 5 pounds by then. 6 or 7 would be grand, but I'm not getting my hopes up.
