Week 2

Monday, August 19, 2013

Last week's goals:
*Hit the gym 4 days
*Get my running interval from 1 minute to 1m45s
*Increase my time on the Elliptical from 7 minutes to 10 minutes
*Find a strength training routine
*Make it to bed by 9:30pm on work nights
*Cook healthier dinners for my family

I made it to the gym, and even went for a hike today (gym is closed on Sunday).

I didn't increase my running interval, but I did increase my speed for my intervals.

I actually avoided the elliptical this week, it seemed to be in use each time I hit the gym.

I've found a few different strength training routines that I'm working with and I'll see what benefits me the most.

Umm...9:30 bedtime? May not actually happen until I get the kids back in school.

I did cook a bit better for the fam this week, nothing special, but we did try steamed zucchini.

I lost 2 lbs this week, for a total of 7 so far. I've had no problem drinking my water on a consistent basis, just need to watch the weekend junk food trap.

John (my DH) has surgery tomorrow (Monday), so my main priority this week will be him. Of course, as I say that I'm thinking to myself that I don't want to fall in to the "caregiver" trap.

This week's goals:
*Hit the gym on M, T, W, F, S
*Do the mommy tummy workout on M, W, F
*Take the kids for a hike on Sunday
*Attend the Preview Performance for the HS Marching Band on Thursday
*Try spaghetti squash on spaghetti night

Oh, I almost forgot to mention...I'm not tracking my foods on SP because I've found that MyFitnessPal is actually easier to use. I'm able to scan the barcodes and it interacts with my BodyMedia armband. If you're interested in adding me on MFP, feel free. My username is FitStelley.

Another Starting Place

Friday, August 09, 2013

I've had many good starts on SP that I've just let come to a sputtering stop. I'm trying something a bit different this time.

I'm using SparkPeople AND I'm using my BodyMedia arm band. These two tools finally work together (or I finally found out that they do!) and I'm able to use them both. Another tool I'm using is Fitocracy. It is a social media for people who are working out. Basically, I get points for every activity I log and I have constant contact with folks who are also being physically active.

I weighed myself last Saturday and again today (one day early, so sue me) and was very pleased to have lost 5 pounds. Granted it's the first week and most of that is "water weight" but it's still a good start. I will not allow my negativity or anyone else's diminish my positive results.

I will continue to work hard, start each day brand new, make wise choices, and push my limits. That is my promise this week.

This week's goals:
*Hit the gym 4 days
*Get my running interval from 1 minute to 1m45s
*Increase my time on the Elliptical from 7 minutes to 10 minutes
*Find a strength training routine
*Make it to bed by 9:30pm on work nights
*Cook healthier dinners for my family

Second Day

Tuesday, June 08, 2010

My Wii Fit age today was 37! I've done 12 minutes of yoga, 3 min of step aerobics and 7 min of "other" aerobics. I wish that I could unlock more yoga poses and aerobics already, but I think that it's smart that you're only given a few poses/activities to begin with. Time to get ready for work...Have a great day!

New Toy!

Tuesday, June 08, 2010

I played for about an hour on my Wii Fit today! This is after riding my bicycle over half a mile today to my sister's house too! I really should get to bed though, I'll be lucky to get 7 hours sleep now and I am seriously looking forward to starting my day RIGHT! I want a balanced breakfast (not donuts or fast food!!!) and want to get some Wii Fit (known as WF from here on out) time before work!

New starts!

Wednesday, April 07, 2010

We moved into our new house over the weekend and now I'm trying to unpack and find homes for everything. Our diet over the next couple weeks will not be as varied as I like because we're cutting down to basics for a while (beans and rice anyone?). I need to get off my butt and get something to eat for myself because up until a few minutes ago I've been working (housework, unpacking, moving) and have only had a cup of coffee and an ice cream sandwich. Time to take a 15 minute break and take care of my immediate needs...food!
