I went to the funeral of a bridge player today. He was a fairly new player, having been at the club for only seven years. He was very popular and there was a large crowd. The bridge club members were well represented including our president, who was good friends with them. Then I went home and took my time showering. I contacted the company who fixed my scooter to see if they could get it back sooner and I will get it tomorrow after I have my humira injection :) My sister has six days off, starting Friday and I am trying to encourage my Mom to go up to the farm for a visit, and I will go home. On Thursday, it will have been two weeks since my surgery and I feel she doesn't need to baby sit me anymore ;) I also would get the chance to take in Folkfest as I can make it to quite a few pavilions just by my scooter (8) so wouldn't have to worry about taking the bus and having to walk or be on my feet too much. Then on Sept 2 and 3, we have a fireworks festival. Hoping our weather holds out for that..I love attending events and festivals..
On my home scale, I weighed in at a more reasonal 118. I discovered my last nice jacket was really baggy on me when it used to be tight. I really need to find a way to get more muscle on my upper body. Just can't figure out how when I am restricted to lifting only 5 lbs because of my elbow replacements :((
I was unable to watch 10,000 BC. We got a bad DVD that kept stopping and going back starting at an earlier point. Was really quite bad, even tried going ahead in the scenes, but it kept stopping and starting back. Grr. I hope they find new technology where scratches won't matter..
Can feel the cold wind blowing in the window. Its going to be a two blanket night.
Good sleeps all, Have a totally terrific Thursday!!

As a ferocious thunderstorm flashes and roars outside, risk of hail, tornadoes, Mom and I are watching Unthinkable, a movie we rented.
We went to Costco today and I got to finally try a Larabar! First time here! Was great, loved the apple and cashew, but didn't try the peanut butter as I usually don't like bars with that in. I like they are soft bars instead of the usual dry brittle bars. But the calorie and fat content seemed pretty high and the protein not enough, only 4-6g, fat 10g...
Then Mom and I went to the mall and looked around, then I said I wanted to try walking home from there. My foot was uncomfortable, especially on the top, but I needed to tough it out. Mom and I walked slowly home, enjoying looking at some nice gardens along the way. The walk normally takes only 20 minutes and I think I made it in 40 minutes. Was nice to be moving.
I weighed in today at 115.4, should be 121, hoping I have not lost muscle mass as my calories have been over and high more than lower. Some stomach upset may have also contributed to the lower number..
Hope you all have good sleeps and a terrific Tuesday!!

Well this morning I tried to get my foot in a running shoe and did, no problem!! I walked around a bit to see how it felt. Little uncomfortable, but nothing serious. So Mom and I went to see Harry Potter. Then after, I walked from one end of the mall to the other. This was no ordinary walk as the mall is actually in two separate blocks, and I had to go under and up a tunnel going under the street to get to the other 'half' Then I went into a store I always like the clothing of and saw a hand painted shirt with sparkly things on it which was on sale for half price, couldn't resist and got it.
Afterwards, I went to my apartment to shower and get some fresh clothes. My incision and foot looked kind of red, but the toe without the toe nail looked okay. I had found my foot felt really hot in the running shoe even though they were the mesh kind. So maybe will wear the snadal around the house and the shoes when I go out.
Enjoy your evening and good sleeps all!

My Mom's neighbor came over with his bountiful harvest from his farm, and we got zucchini the size of watermellon (didn't know they could grow that big!!),
beets , potatoes and a huge bag of beans! So all we needed from the Farmer's Market was some red bell peppers. We made it a fast in and out trip as parking was hard to find.
So more relaxing and reading. Then I decided to dead head the flowers in the barrels down the slope. Had no trouble with it even when I had to put most of my weight on my right foot as there were marigolds around the bottom of the tub and I could only fit one foot in to reach the barrel.
Then I came inside and did the large amount of dishes from cleaning and cooking all those veggies.
Another relaxing night watching TV with Mom as that is her routine.
Good sleeps and have a Super Sunday!

In spite of being on my feet two hours in the morning deadheading, I felt no problem with my foot :) Later, Mom took us to the movie store to rent some movies and it took us quite a while as we like to browse through old and new movies and read the boxes.. Then we sat and read a while, then Mom took her first walk to see the beavers since I have been there. I managed to fix my own supper with no protests from my foot. It is still sore and uncomfortable, but not painful. Another sunny warm day and the weekend will be perfect hot and sunny both days. What a week its been for our fair, just perfect weather, usually it rains cats and dogs!
Enjoy your evening, good sleeps and have a Super Saturday!!
