Mom and I got going on our marathon hike across country at 6:30am. Yes, it was cold, but we dressed warm and I had my wool mittens and fleece headband this time so was nice and toasty. We spottted a hot air balloon, the first in a very long time we have actually had a calm morning. Our winds have been horrible. The day was overcast, and we had the off leash area to ourselves. lots of bird song, and I saw something the size of a medium dog and red in color dive into the bush but didn't see it again. No deer, but lots of sign of them. We enjoyed our quiet wind free walk. It was wonderfully green every where now and some flowers were blooming. We got back and cleaned up, throwing our clothes in the wash and having a nice chicken wrap on an ancient grains wrap. Now its raining outside and is a perfect time to try loading some photos.
From yesterday, those girls were really having fun, doing somersaults, and being rolled around:
Caught this girl upside down:
After watching them for a while, Mom and I decided on an evening walk to Whiteswan area to get a good look at the river rising. We took a bush trail because I love them so much. This one wasn't used much so is grown in a bit:
Mom led the way so she cleared all the cob webs out of the way for me :))
Then along the river on the way back, we watched some bushes and small trees being drawn under by the fast flowing water, only to slowly pull back up, looked weird!
These were some photos I wanted to try earlier, showing a trail going into the water:
The real end of the trail lol:
The former boat launch area:
You can see where the trail continued on the other side:
My favorite pathway's end:
comes out on the other side:
We will go for a walk later this evening to see the beavers in the pond.
Hope you have all had a great Sunday!
Hugs,
Linda

Eagerly pushed through 70 minutes of vigorous cardio, showered, ate and was packing, ready for pick up to go to Mom's. We went to Wal*Mart and Dollarama where I got some needed things at the right price :). Then we came home and imagine our surprise when we saw this on the back grass area behind our house (not on our property -its city owned but we are responsible for keeping it up as they can't access it to cut it)
Some lucky girl was having a party and there were quite a few of them rolling around in these bubble balls.
Tried to upload more photos, but once again, late evening is the wrong time to try Sparks, always slow and not working :( I will just have to post a day late all the time.
Mom and I hiked a trail and then walked home along the river, ever higher, It was strange watching the trees and bushes in the water being pulled under by the strong current, then slowly rising again. Nothing but ducks on the river. No sign of any beaver. Their lodges are all under water. I just about froze on this walk, was needing mittens!! I borrowed a head band from Mom and likely will be getting a warmer jacket from her for the morning as well.
Looking forward to an early morning hike. The weather is horrible here, going down to 2 C (36 F) again. Lots of flowers and plantings being killed by the cold :((
We are wanting to go to the Berry Barn, as we do every year. Its also being threatened with flooding as are a lot of plant farms down in the lower part of the river valley..
Have good sleeps and a super Sunday!
Hugs,
Linda

My new bed finally got here at 11:00 am as promised. The nice young gentlemen took out the old one and unloaded the new one, wearing plastic booties over their stocking feet if you can believe that!! Most workers coming in here don't care if they come in with their muddy shoes, let alone taking them off and wearing booties !!
A before shot of my bed:
Bed and desk:
After my new bed is in place, I had enough room to put my silver set of multiple drawers which had been stuffed in my storage room. Now all my paper work and supplies are in one place. All matching silver, from my lamp, desk and chair, except my Swiss ball is an ugly green lol:
My new bed without the sheets on yet:
Mom and Angus bought some expensive foam padding, supposed to be hypo allergenic to protect my tender tootsies from any nasty stubbing, and she just had to put this colorful tape on them:
The day is horrible out. We are well below normal temperatures and the high winds are forcing the cigarette smoke from next door into my apartment big time and I can barely speak my throat is so sore, never mind being stuffed up and with burning eyes. I had my windows open, but the dirt blows in faster than I can get it cleaned up :( Don't know if I will be able to enjoy my new bed with this horrible stench in here.. I am going to spend the rest of the weekend at Mom's as they are shutting the water off here on Monday and I am not working then. I can't wait to get over there. Mom found and picked up a huge colorful garter snake and then saw a deer on her early morning walk this morning!! The river has also gotten even higher (the goose eggs were washed away, but they were dead any way) and the water is threatening to come up over the trail on the lowest part of the paved path along the river. Its only got that high once before..
A huge congratulations to Connie (beachwalker1) for not only getting her blog featured in a Spark mail, but being a motivator too! Congrats also to momma_little (Lori) for her popular blog and taking Susan's (PCOH051610) awesome idea of the bracelet to the next level! I am so lucky to have such talented, intelligent, inspirational and popular Spark friends!!
In spite of a very painful start to my day, I did manage 75 minutes of cardio and if the weather settles down, may go for a walk outside later to get some fresh air.
Have a good evening and a great weekend all!
Hugs,
Linda

Started out with 45 minutes step workout followed by 50 minutes kickboxing with weighted gloves :) Then it was off to bridge, where I had an average game with the new player. Then it was off to my bank to trying settle things with my credit card account. Really did not like getting my bill held back because they couldn't confirm my address (and didn't even try). I think it was a ploy to force me to sign up with web banking. Anyway, I purchased three things for the club and needed that bill for proof of purchase :( Now, of course, our lousy postal workers are going on strike. These highly paid workers who screw up the mail on a regular basis want even more money. So I won't be getting my June bill either :( Just a little frustration going on with this bank. I am also being screwed over with my account. I was supposed to get two free withdrawals, but they have been giving me service charges of $1.5 every month anyway : My interest is only about 20 cents a month, so this account isn't even worth having. They are planning to change it over to a even more screw you and help make the bank even more profit settings. I have no say in it. I think it may be time to look for a new one, but like politicians, they are probably all the same money grubbing big business screw the little guy anyway. I mean just look at the huge profits they are raking in!! So in the interim, may set up a checking account, no interest, but no service charges either.. This is why I prefer to deal with cash and not plastic. Straight forward no muss no fuss.
Eagerly awaiting my new bed tomorrow. Hope you all have a Fantastic Friday!!!
Hugs,
Linda

I see the surgeon about my hip replacement June 28. I am getting it from everyone I talk to that this guy is the best!
Also I solved why I wasn't getting my credit card bill for May. They actually put a block on it because they couldn't confirm my mailing address (and didn't even call me to do that!!) There is normally a $10 charge for unblocking, but they are going to rescind this (they had better).
I wonder if this little tree growing out of the cement wall, will survive the high river's rush:
This is the side of the weir I am not often on, have tried uploading five different photos and it took the one I didn't like lol.
The path to the train bridge stairs:
I always run up stairs, just because I can, and not get out of breath. These are neat railway tie stairs;
this little dude made his home under the bridge:
This was a blind corner wrapping around the bridge that makes me nervous when the cyclists come roaring by making no sound..
The view from up high, the water being behind the bush line where it should not be:
The mis identified muskrat/beaver -they sure look very much alike when you see just the face:
Okay, I give up. For every five photos I tried, sparks would let one through. spent most of my time looking at a blank screen spinning around :( Tried to comment on friend's blogs, but was getting the same difficulty. Took an hour and a half to get one comment out :( Sparks doesn't like me tonight lol. Time to sleep. Month end tomorrow morning and a game with a new rookie tomorrow.
Good sleeps all!
Hugs,
Linda
