Family Health Problems

Saturday, March 05, 2011

So we've been going through a lot with everyone being "down" lately with something. We were all sick with a flu type bug for a couple of weeks. Then we had some issues with my granny. Then my mom started having severe chest pains for a couple of days. It got so bad we were headed to the ER. It went away for the night though so she waited until the next morning. They think it wasn't anything serious but she's been hooked up to monitors to make sure. Since she has heart arrythmia issues or something. It's just been a little scary seeing them go through that.

It makes me more motivated though to really get back to getting healthy again. I hope my mom decides to start at least go walking with me sometimes.

Hope your family is all feeling better. Your Mom should have every test possible, cause the heart is nothing to fool with. Walking is great Jenni and I sure hope you can do that with your Mom, it will be a special time together and good for both of you, Mind, Body and Spirit.

Jen - emoticon We've all had the crud/ flu/ something in the family for a month nasty stuff, hard to shake. My 4 yerar old granddaughter has a touch of it now.

Seem so many of my Spark friends have been off to a rocky start this year but glad you are ready for a fresh restart@

My daughter has fibromyalgia too so I know what you go through there.

She is working towards a fresh start with eatting and exercise again.

For her cutting out the refined carbs and getting regular cardio and strength exercise really does help the fibro...she says then at least on days she 'aches all over' she has a good excuse ( exercise) rather than just the fibro!

So glad you are in our Ninja 'Unit' next round....I'm excited to see what progress we make this round!

Let's gooooo for it!

1/20 - Stupid Weather

Friday, January 21, 2011

I just wish the weather would stabilize already. This year it's just been going back and forth between really cold and warm. Everytime it starts changing again my body flips out. My symptoms get a lot worse and basically the day is ruined. Take today for example it's getting cold again and I woke up with bad pain & muscle spasms. It feels like I walk on a tight rope everyday. Just a little tilt and then I could either feel horrible or great. I wonder if this will ever be figured out and if I will ever find some help with it. It just gets hard to keep believing that I will after 3 years. My 21st birthday is this summer. I want to be young and have fun at least for a little while. I want to be able to work and make plans. I guess I just have to keep faith and hope close by and know that it will all be okay.

In other news I finally added some new pictures of Harley. He's getting big!

It snowed here today! Yep here in the Gulf Coast Area of Texas it snowed all day. I will have to upload some pictures later. Now I am just trying to stay warm in front of a heater because I'm not used to cold weather like this! It is 26 degrees right now.

So I didn't get any exercise today but I did stay outside running around in the snow for awhile. Tomorrow I will do a kickboxing routine again and walk at least a mile. Those are my two goals for the day.

Nothing worse than snow when you don't expect it, let alone aren't prepared.

Lucky you! I have lived in Georgia for 28 years (before that Florida) I have gotten to see snow exactly 3 times. Once in Florida (yeah it really did happen!) an the other two up here. Hubby says we will probably see it here this year, sure hope so!!

BLC 11 Day 1 & 2

Friday, September 11, 2009

So I am incredibly excited to be on the Pink Ninjas team during the BLC 11 challenge. I have already met some really great women that have been very supportive and it's only day two. I can only imagine that the next twelve weeks can only get even better. Well the first day I started out with no exercise because I was having a fibromyalgia flare up but by day two I exercised 100 minutes!! I have never in my life exercised that long before! Before I started this journey to better health and losing weight I couldn't hardly go over 20 minutes. Even more unbelievable I enjoyed doing it. I enjoy it because I know it is good for my body and it keeps my health problems at bay more often then if I just sit around all day. I am glad that I decided to finally take charge of my body and my life because it has been the best decision I have ever decided to make! Here's to new beginnings and a great future.
