I hit a huge speedbump last week.
Something happened in my personal life that sent everything crashing. There were a few days that I didn't eat at all, and a few days that I ran to the point of exhaustion.
One thing I can say, is that there were no days that I regret what I ate or did. Even though I was mentally devastated, I didn't binge, and I didn't layabout.
But I didn't track. I didn't pay attention to my body.
I'm okay- and things are okay now. So time for me to get back on track!

This week is so busy, I am teaching a kids class all week, and my running schedule is off. I managed a run last night, but today has to be a rest day, as there is just no time. It is probably good to rest though, as I hurt my foot last night!

My daughter's senior prom was Saturday. My husband and I have been planning for years that when she had her senior prom, we would also get dressed up in formal attire, and go out for dinner.
I was planning on wearing a bridesmaid dress from last summer.
When I ordered the dress, I ordered it in a size 14. The lady at the shop encouraged me (based on my measurements) to order it in a 16 because she said these dresses ran about two sizes too SMALL. But I refused. The dress was a little snug, but with the help of some serious undergarments, it worked fine.
Anyway, I figured I've lost some weight (not a tremendous amount, but 16 pounds or so) and the dress might be a little more comfortable now.
I was wrong. I put it on, and it literally FELL OFF.
My daughter saw, and gave me her homecoming dress from last year (a size 10) and it fit beautifully!

I am taking a hiatus.
Not from eating right, or exercising, but from extra clicking.
I have finished my coursework for my PhD, and start my Comprehensive Exams tomorrow. I will have 28 days to complete this rigorous task. Because I will need to focus on research, qualitative methodology, and learning theories, I am taking a break from blogging and social media.
I am NOT taking a break from tracking my foods.
I am ABSOLUTELY NOT taking a break from running. That keeps me sane.
I will track my foods here, and my miles on dailymiledotcom.
Keep up the good work in my absence. I will see you all at the end of May!
