"Question your perception. You look in the mirror. You see ugly, fat, tired. But is that what's really there? As I talked about in my last post, your mind can really distort your thoughts. Sometimes what we see isn't what's really there. Keep the positive thoughts in the forefront. Avoid looking for the bad and try to keep a positive outlook."
Mirror work continues to be a powerful tool for me. Years ago I couldn't stand my reflection from the waist up. At some point I decided to practice noticing things I liked & started small - my smile, my eyes, even my ears. The key was that I choose things I actually liked, & more importantly, that I pushed away any bad body thoughts or self-criticism that arose.
Now, I'm good to look at my reflection, & even enjoy it. I like smiling to myself!
When you look in the mirror, what do you really see?
