So, maybe I was SLIGHTLY over dramatic in my response, but hey. That's how I was feeling.
And today, 2 days into my new plan, I feel GREAT. :D
Last night I ended the day at about 1361 calories - WOW! It's been a LONG TIME since I had my calories that low. But it was really quite manageable. Just different choices to be made.
Today I'm aiming to go to the higher side because I had an AWESOME workout. :D WOOHOO!!!
I got up early this morning, hit up that Spin class and it rocked again. Did some Core ST and racked up 736 calories burned on my HRM. WOOHOO!!!
I've paced myself well on calories today, and feel good about finishing the day strong.
Oh, also did some grocery shopping today, that was good. I purposefully went to Super Target for food which is really the first time I've done that and WOW. I was in heaven when I turned down the ... rice... aisle? So many amazing looking foods. Actually everything looked amazing. I had to restrain myself from spending too much. ;) HEHEHE. But I'm excited about that possibly being my new "regular" grocery store, when I'm not picking up stuff from the Health Food store.
Supposedly there will be som ROCK BAND going on tonight, so I'm looking forward to that! :)

... it's CHUGGING INTO TOWN!!!
So in spite of my good efforts towards the middle of last week, this weekend kinda turned into a bingefest. The cookie thing lasted until 4AM, I did not eat dinner prior to going and was tasting from every batch of cookies all night long, only "real" food available was some tortilla chips and a sausage rotel dip.
My DH came for a few minutes to the cookie bake, but hasn't been feeling well so he went back home. I was instructed to bring back cookies -- FOR HIM of course. Well the resulting amount of cookies was SO MASSIVE that the relatively small amount I separated for home consumption was not so tiny.
Saturday I had cookies for breakfast, cookies for snack... a PEAR!!!! YAY REAL FOOD!!! Oh, then some cookies again ... and then baby carrots.... and then I did some yoga. Burned a whopping 77 calories... but it was really a relaxing/stretching/restorative type of yoga session and it made me feel a little bit energized and better. Then I went to the party.
The snacks were relatively healthy as far as party food goes -- cucumber circles w/ hummus in the middle, cut veggies, strawberries, tomato/basil/mozzarella skewers... and then the less super healthy spinach dip w/ crackers, and the cookies. It was a martini party and I don't drink, but I was enlisted to partake of some Sparkling White Grape Juice and cranberry ginger ale in a special martini glass for helping prepare for the party. ;) HAHAHAA.
I ate full of party food, took some home for the still sickly DH and ended up eating some of that also.
Sunday, I ate well for most of the day. I went for my first running attempt. I walked for a good 10 minutes to warm up, ran about a mile before the weird feelings came back and I walked the rest of the way home. I didn't think I irritated anything really because I stopped, but later that evening I had to go down some stairs and experienced the pain. WAH! Also the cold air aggravated my asthma.
So I'm not going to run outdoors until it's warm outside again. THE END OF THAT.
Oh so anyway, last night it was my wonderful Christmas concert -- that went GREAT!! I had a glass of eggnog and two cookies. (very reasonable, right?)
Oh but then everyone wanted to go to Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner.
The semi healthy offerings there are not even remotely attractive. :P I had wings and popcorn shrimp and "buffalo chips" (potato discs).
This morning I stepped on the scale and it said 171.
It's not the end of the world, it's not the most horrible gain, but before I just let everything spiral into wild abandoned binging frenzies throughout the holidays, I'm doing what I promised myself to do.
IF after a week after Thanskgiving I was still high/above maintenance range, I would attempt losing again. Also I had said previously I would not change my tracker unless I consistently weighed above my range for a while -- well mostly it's been 170, but it's close enough that I've decided not to split hairs and to go for it.
My clothes all still fit, I don't feel like I turned into a tub of lard or anything -- but I can feel my healthy habits slipping and I'm doing this in an attempt to GRAB ON TIGHT and remember how much I love being healthy and how much I hated how I felt after eating pretty much every time this weekend. :P The momentary taste of the cookie is good, but the momentary taste of 15 cookies consumed in one sitting is NOT WORTH the way I feel afterward.
SO! I've weighed in on my main spark page, adjusted my weekly calorie burn up to 2000 per week and set a goal of 165 by 12/31. It's not really my goal -- my real goal is to be at least down to 167 before I head out to the Christmas holidays, but I decided to go ahead and set my goal using those numbers.
This brings my calorie range back down to 1200-1550 -- oh how I remember those numbers!!!!
ONE CHEAT MEAL this week -- that is all. Back to my good rules that I know work. I did not remotely abide to that rule this past weekend -- I think because I was admitting to myself that last weekend was going to be crazy and there were too many days with opportunities to indulge. I was not expecting going out to eat on Sunday evening either. :P I was planning on keeping Sunday 100% in check food wise, but oh well. It's done.
My workout plans this week -- today was a day off.
Tuesday - Spin Class - Abs!
Wednesday - Upper and Lower Body ST
Thursday - Spin Class - Abs!
Friday - Day Off
Saturday - Kettlebell workout
Sunday - Makeup any additional required calorie burn to reach 2000 -- perhaps pick up the Yoga Class at the gym?
I have to work this Saturday, but there are no more parties or any of that nonsense. OH! This Thursday at work is my work's "Holiday Meal". I will pack a healthy lunch. I will not participate in the food indulgences offerred. I just remembered that my DH's birthday is this Sunday and his Professor is having dinner with us somehow (at her house or out to eat) and I need to leave my flexibility for that meal.
I will also share my plans with my DH to avoid any unwitting sabotage from him not knowing what my goals are.
I THINK that covers everything.

So... here's why today is awesome:
a) Got up for spin class. IT ROCKED. The teacher did so many various interesting things it was great!!! Not just stand up sit down sprint... she actually planned for sprints to go WITH the music (so even though I didn't love all of the song selections I could still get into it), we did arm stuff at one point, we did a series of "jumps" - 4 counts sitting, 4 counts standing, sprints, hill climbs, rolling hill thing (seated with a lower resistance, crank it and stand and sprint up the hill, repeat), um... ONE LEG at a TIME portion! All kinds of stuff. OH and a 665 calorie burn! Average Heart Rate 160! and Maxed out at 185! ROCK ON!
b) Had time to relax after the workout -- forgot what working out earlier and coming back home before work was like. :) Pretty nice!
c) Cake was in the building again -- and I RESISTED. NO MORE WEDDING CAKE FOR ME. The co-worker's roommate or someone got married and they had the entire bottom tier of the wedding cake left over so he keeps bringing it in to help get rid of it, but I will "help" no longer. :P
d) Planned a snack for before lunch and after lunch, and am sticking to the plan.
e) Got lots of work stuff done.
And for tonight -- I'm not cooking a dinner, we're just having sandwiches... cause I'm mixing up a ton of cookie dough for tomorrow night's cookie party. :D WOOHOO! I'm still pretty excited for that as well.
The same teacher is teaching next week on Tuesday and Thursday for the LAST TIME maybe EVER. She said she's moving -- I wonder if she's graduated or just leaving school for some other reason, who knows, but I'm very tempted to make those last two classes next week. ALSO I wore the padded butt shorts and had a padded seat, and while it wasn't 100% comfortable at the time, the class lasted a good 55 minutes or so and I'm experiencing NO after pain. :D YAY.
Just under 3 weeks till next vacation time. *CAN'T WAIT!*

Back down to 75%.
The CAKE MONSTER got me at work. *doh* Go check out my tracker.
Silly co-worker bringing in the most delicious wedding cake EVAR to work. I estimated the size kinda high (I hope) to ensure I am really being honest, and I've entered a proposed dinner solution that will keep me below calories.
AND I stocked up on diet hot chocolate and minimarshmallows.
So if I feel the need I still have room for a 65 calorie treat after dinner.
(25 cal for the hot chocolate, 40 calories for 1/4 cup mini marshmallows (I weigh them on my food scale haha))
Maybe I can still count as being more like... 95% because I'm purposefully tracking to stay within calories??? Minus 5% for a big chunk being the unhealthy KIND of calories????

So, your favorite Sparker is back in business. (MWAHAHA I'm so conceited. HAHA) Anyway.
Today I have had NO cakes or candies (other than sugar free gum, come on, I'm no saint!) and only mostly healthy foods. Also I got in a 300cal burn kettlebell workout -- thereby simultaneously getting the satisfaction of - 1st post holiday workouts AND full body ST AND not neglecting Babybell (that's my kb's name).
I got inspired because yesterday I got a KB workout emailed to me for being a member of the facebook group "I *heart* My Kettlebell" :D So I printed those out and did some moves from em this morning.
I didn't 100% follow the exact workouts in there, just did whatever moves looked insteresting, but it was fun to have some more ideas for what to do, along with detailed step by step pictures and comments.
I also mixed up my snack mix this morning. :D So all is well in the world right now.
Except I'm hungry and have 1 hour to lunch. GRRRR time move faster!!! ;)
So only 3 more 300cal workouts to go this week, orrrrr a 400 and 500 or whatever, I gotta get to 1200 minimum, but I'm aiming for extra this week due to all the holiday merriment.
I'm thinking -- SPIN CLASS SATURDAY MORNING is a good idea. :D I need to check the schedule to make sure class is still going on that day. Woot.
DRAT IT ALL!!! NO classes this Saturday. There's one tomorrow at 9AM... considering how early I've been waking up this week that might not be too bad... we'll see. Or I might try my first run since the hiatus this Saturday (or both).
