Back down to 75%.

The CAKE MONSTER got me at work. *doh* Go check out my tracker.

Silly co-worker bringing in the most delicious wedding cake EVAR to work. I estimated the size kinda high (I hope) to ensure I am really being honest, and I've entered a proposed dinner solution that will keep me below calories.

AND I stocked up on diet hot chocolate and minimarshmallows.

So if I feel the need I still have room for a 65 calorie treat after dinner.

(25 cal for the hot chocolate, 40 calories for 1/4 cup mini marshmallows (I weigh them on my food scale haha))

Maybe I can still count as being more like... 95% because I'm purposefully tracking to stay within calories??? Minus 5% for a big chunk being the unhealthy KIND of calories????

    If you didn't have that 5% though, you might just go crazy though, right? Good deal on the cake being gone...finally. lol! I hated it when a coworker would bring in fresh, homemade, still warm apple pie. Torture!

    Or maybe you're at 105% because you more than made up for the cake (purposely overestimating the calories of it, and then making sure you end up below target on total calories)!

So, your favorite Sparker is back in business. (MWAHAHA I'm so conceited. HAHA) Anyway.

Today I have had NO cakes or candies (other than sugar free gum, come on, I'm no saint!) and only mostly healthy foods. Also I got in a 300cal burn kettlebell workout -- thereby simultaneously getting the satisfaction of - 1st post holiday workouts AND full body ST AND not neglecting Babybell (that's my kb's name).

WOOHOO!!

I got inspired because yesterday I got a KB workout emailed to me for being a member of the facebook group "I *heart* My Kettlebell" :D So I printed those out and did some moves from em this morning.

I didn't 100% follow the exact workouts in there, just did whatever moves looked insteresting, but it was fun to have some more ideas for what to do, along with detailed step by step pictures and comments.

I also mixed up my snack mix this morning. :D So all is well in the world right now.

Except I'm hungry and have 1 hour to lunch. GRRRR time move faster!!! ;)

So only 3 more 300cal workouts to go this week, orrrrr a 400 and 500 or whatever, I gotta get to 1200 minimum, but I'm aiming for extra this week due to all the holiday merriment.

I'm thinking -- SPIN CLASS SATURDAY MORNING is a good idea. :D I need to check the schedule to make sure class is still going on that day. Woot.

DRAT IT ALL!!! NO classes this Saturday. There's one tomorrow at 9AM... considering how early I've been waking up this week that might not be too bad... we'll see. Or I might try my first run since the hiatus this Saturday (or both).

... on track, but getting there.

I had a TON of grocery shopping to do this morning -- it wasn't actually all that bad, but a couple stores to go to and we needed food BADLY. Without this trip we would have had... well. Pasta. Um... rice... other grains (quinoa, etc)... frozen corn and peas.... yeah. That's roughly it. Peanut butter! But nothing to put it on. Soymilk! But I don't just DRINK soymilk either... hahah. Oh -- we had oatmeal. That's true. But yeah -- things were getting dire.

Now I have FRUIT and VEGGIES and CHICKEN and other lunch stuffs, so I'm in business. :)

I made this delicious recipe last night -- from (you guessed it) The Food You Crave by Ellie Krieger. :) Jambalaya with Shrimp and Ham. My first ever Jambalaya and it was SO GOOD and SO EASY. :D I highly recommend it!!! I only had to chop up one onion, one red pepper, one green pepper... everything else was a piece of cake. Cook those in 1tbsp Olive Oil with some GARLIC! When getting soft, add some canned diced tomatoes(14.5oz no salt added), chicken broth(2.5 cups), tomato paste(1 tbsp), seasonings(1tsp paprika, .5 tsp thyme and oregano, 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper, 1/4 tsp black pepper, 1/2 tsp salt, 1 bay leaf) and 6oz cubed "smoked" ham (Not sure if mine was smoked, I just bought some ham cubes and went for it)... then add rice and simmer for like 20 minutes. Then you stir in the shrimp (1lb raw deveined and shelled) and cook for like 5 minutes until the shrimp is cooked through. It's thick and delicious and each serving is like 2 slightly heaped cups for 440 calories. :D ROCK ON!

That's what I get to look forward to for lunch! MMM!

I also bought a lot of ingredients today for a cookie baking marathon party I'll be rocking this Friday. I wanted to do it, and we're having it at a friend's house and helping her decorate for Christmas for the first time. :D So I'm pretty psyched. I'll be mixing up batches of dough on Thursday night, so most of it will be ready to simply be made cute and baked, or baked and made cute... And then there are some other recipes (at least one) that I want to mix at the time. The best part is that another friend is having a Christmas party the next day, so the vast majority of the cookies will be actually going to that purpose.

I was planning on not taking ANY home, but I just found out that I'm supposed to bring cookies to my concert which is on Sunday, so I will set some aside for that as well.

:) I'm excited. :)

But all this shopping left me without my usual workout time, so I'm going to have to get on the workout train tomorrow. Feeling a little nuts about it because that is 3 days off in a row, which is longer than I almost EVER go, but I know I'll get back on it.

    YAY! I had one of those grocery shopping trips the other day too where I picked up lean meants, veggies, and fruits. Very similar!

Oh and I was thinking about making all of the cookies and treats this year to make up plates for family and friends. Granted, giving them away will solve a lot but what I'm worried about the most is while they are on the cooling trays....when they are the yummiest. My family would actually KILL me if I gave away all of the cookies. Hmmm....what to do? It's a fine Christmas cookie line I have to balance on.

PS...are you at 100% yet? Or close to it? I'm sure you are!

    I LOVE that Ellie Krieger cookbook. She's fabulous. I'll try the jambalaya.

And I'm hosting, with a friend, a cookie exchange party. Can't wait -- can I send some cookies to your concert to get them out of my house? hahaha -- I'm looking forward to the great friends at the party, but not sure what to do with the cookies i end up with. (Maybe I can just forget to take my "share.")

Or hey! I can take them to the teachers at my son's school! Brilliant.

    GRR don't u hate 3 days off in a row. I just had 2 and I am a mess. I will be at the gym today. That recipe sounds sO good, cept for the ham. (Don't eat pork) I look at Ellie's recipe's online sometimes. I never tried it though, but I kinda want to try that jambalaya. mmmm But I have some left over chicken curry so that will have to wait.

    I am jelous. I soooo Want to make cookies But I just have no reason except to eat them. And it would be just DD and I eating them because DH would have like 2 and hten that is it!!!!
I might have to make some cookies for a party next week. Not that is what I am suppose to bring but it will be a good excuse.

    I might have to bake some stuff too, perhaps this weekend, and foist some of the stuff on my unsuspecting family and friends. It's good to have some in the freezer to share with guests for Christmas too.
Have a fun day at the gym tomorrow! Speaking of gym - I went to the gym after work - burn baby burn. It was an awesome way to clear my head from this particular day of work-related horribleness. And it's snowing silently, so we HAD to walk outside to catch snowflakes on our tongues...

The obligatory Post-Thanksgiving Blog

:) Had a great time, ate too much, worked out, end result?

I've been maintaining mostly between 167-168, and this morning, 170.

I'm optimistic that after a week of being back to my normal healthy eating and normal exercise routine, I'll be back to my usual.

WOOHOO! And if not -- 170 IS technically still in my range, although I think I'll continue to be a little more to the lower end of my cal ranges and stricter until I get more toward the middle again.

I cooked a lot. I also found a new favorite Chinese food, I think! :D Mu Shu Chicken! :D Lots of veggies and no batter to be found! I'm sure it's stir fried in oil, but I think a better alternative to my old favorite -- Sesame Chicken! Battered and friend and drenched in a sugary sauce please! :D HAHAHHAA.

Anyway.

Um... cool thing. They have a kind of home Green Screen set up. I played my trombone and they recorded me and my brother edited me in front of a Christmas tree. :D HAHAHA.

Now to get back to normal life! Work has been horrible today. :P

    Okay if this is a double I appologize. I just wanted to say I have full faith in you to be back down in no time. And 170 is not bad for a holiday dedicated to food. Think about it the first thanksgiving was a three day feast to give thanks for the good harvest of food. FOOD FOOD FOOD! It all has to do with food! LOL

    Welcome back - glad you had fun and are still in maintenance range! No thanksgiving meal here but I'm going for a strong finish of December to be able to really enjoy the Christmas meal with a clear conscience and knowing that I won't do too much damage to my healthy lifestyle...
I've seen the saying: "It's not what you eat between Christmas and New Year that makes you fat - it's what you eat between New Year and Christmas."

    you know what? I think I had some kind of weird sympathy eating going on this weekend for you folks south of the border... it is NO holiday here, but I STUFFED MYSELF SILLY. hahah I'm up to 160 from being such a nice pretty 156 just a few days ago.

Hoping the same as you, to go back down over the next week.

Tell me if you find the same thing - I find it incredible the difference in just 3lbs. I can actually SEE the difference in my body. Whereas when I was obese 3lbs was just a "drop in the bucket" hahaa do you find that?

Explains why skinny people would always be like, oh I want to lose 5 lbs! I was always like, what??? how does that even matter??? but it DOES!!! lol

    Oooh the Chinese recipe sounds great! I've been stir-frying a lot more and using tofu alot now...I prefer it battered and smothered in sugary sauce but I like it "plain" too...lol! hey I have a Sesame Chicken recipe that doesn't call for it being fried...I'm not claiming it's health food but it's better than a lot of the recipes...lemme know if ya wanna look at it! :)

I'm so excited. I haven't seen my family since February. :) So they saw me right when I hit my 100lbs lost goal and got my hair cut and not since then.

Of course now my hair's growing out and looks awful, but oh well. HAHAHAHA

I'm nice and sore from yesterday's workout -- WOOHOO.

Also, TOM decided a great time to come would be THANKSGIVING. THANKS MOTHER NATURE. :P Kicked off to a roaring start this morning with massive cramps -- sorry TMI crowd.

Almost halfway through my shift at work already! :D WOOHOO! :D

Oh so the point of this is I might check in a couple of times but not sure, might be MIA till next week.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! emoticon Remember that you don't have to eat everything available of your favorite food to enjoy it. Take small/reasonable portions and enjoy. Eat slowly. :) hehehehe. (Reminding myself as much as anyone else!)
