WOOHOO!!! ONE MONTH DOWN!!!
Granted, today I'm at the top of my range but I have an understanding of why.
Last week I did NOT adjust my calories down for my lower level of activity, neither did I while I was sick the week before.
I only worked out 3 days last week, not 4, although they were all at the end of the week practically. Wed/Thurs/Sat.
I ate my weekly splurge meal yesterday.
SO! This week is back on track FO REAL, I'm not feeling the least bit sick anymore, and I have a great plan for the week, including bringing back Making the Cut MODIFIED version, so that's exciting as well. I will keep this maintenance thing GOING.
Today is my audition so wish me luck. :) I practiced yesterday (which if I'm gonna be a loser I could count that as another workout, and in that case I "worked out" every day last week in some way or another, but I don't consider that a workout -- just bonus calorie burn...) for the first time this time around without my practice mute in.
I have this nifty contraption that is a combination of a silent practice mute and TECHNOLOGY. It has a pickup mic inside the mute, and a little box that you plug the input from the mic into and headphones into that somehow transforms the sound into NORMAL. :) hahaha. Because without the headphones it sounds like some faint whiny sounds. But with the magic box it sounds prettttyy normal. BUT!!!!
It's so heavy, and slightly resists the air flow so it's a little more difficult to play with it in. So yesterday I practiced without it and it sounded GREAT. I just hope I don't flub anything from lack of practice. I know my sound is still there... and the reflexes are there... just gotta be confident and do it.
So I'm working 8-5 today instead of my usual 1-10PM, because my audition is at 6:30 and I didn't want to leave too little time due to it being a high traffic time of day. The great thing is that if I make good time I might squeeze a workout in before. OR. I'll go after. Maybe hit up a dance class. :D I'll have to check the schedule at the gym. But my audition is on campus, and I go to the university rec center so that is very convenient.
Hmm... there's a 7:30-8:30 class called "Let's Dance!" And I have NO IDEA what that would be... hahahaha. Hip Hop isn't until 8:45. Which is less convenient after a 6:30 audition. We'll see. I figure I'll most likely head over AFTER my audition and I'll ask someone what that class is, and then decide my workout destiny. :)

Edited to add: MTC starting 9/1, not this week. I'm crazy. But I will be doing the Jillian videos on my Roku instead as a prep. :) YEP!

So much drama at work yesterday... and again today... and all week really.
It's been a bunch of nonsense.
But today is FRIDAY FINALLY! WOOHOO! :D And I don't work this weekend, so yay.
Slept in too late to workout this morning, but when I got up my muscles were nicely sore from yesterdays workout. :D What a wonderful feeling! I've been missing that! Still gonna get in that trombone practice today, though, which I have been tracking on my cardio tracker. :P If I workout tomorrow and Sunday, that'll be 4 workouts this week, and that's a good week, right? I do NOt want to get in the habit of working out less than that.
This maintenance thing is tricky. If I start letting myself skip workouts all the time I know it's possible for me to slip into old habits.

So this morning I started trying this Pilates thing on the Netflix Instant Viewer/Roku Box thingie... and it sucked. I was just so not into it. :P Like 2 minutes into it she had me trying something that totally killed my tailbone, so no thank you. Plus she was annoying. SO!
Instead I go for one of the Jillian Michaels videos on there. Wasn't sure what to expect, but it was classic Jillian -- a hardcore circuit training experience! :D Loved it. It totally kicked my butt. I'm getting ready to do the Making the Cut program again in September (slightly modified for less workouts) with my Bun Buddy Brigade crew. (See my favorites.) We're gonna start on 9/1. But today made me both nervous and excited about that because I remember how much MTC kicked my butt BEFORE and I think it's harder than the workout I did today............ I dunno. We'll see. :) HAHAHAHA.
Gonna go practice in about 10 minutes (YAY). My hip is still bugging me but better than yesterday, so we'll see how I feel tomorrow.

So FINALLY I ran. It's been a week and a half since the last time I ran, and almost a week since I last excercised (and that was the only time I excercised SINCE the last time I ran.... yeah). So anyway. It was good to finally be doing that again, but it wasn't amazing.
I didn't warm up properly and now my hip hurts. :( WAH. But I'll stretch it and get over it before I run again. And WARM UP next time for sure.
I've also been practicing my trombone (yesterday and today and once last week). I have an audition for the Community Band on Monday. It's not really a big deal because everyone makes it, it's just for chair and part placement. :) hahahaha. But still -- I want to put my best foot forward. Someone I used to know at FSU, which I was there as an undergrad they were getting a graduate degree (possibly their second grad degree I dunno). Anyway! They play trombone... and they might be doing my audition for all I know. So I want to live up to their expectations. And the only way this audition really matters to me is if I can get first chair -- so that if there are any solos (which probably there won't be -- trombone solos are NOT very common...) then I get to play them. Otherwise, I don't really care what part I play. I like playing the 3rd trombone parts because they often have fun bass stuff going on... 2nd is kinda boring most of the time... but whatever I get is fine.
ANYWAY. So I did practice yesterday and today, and will continue to practice every day this week. Ideally I'd like to get in a session at home before work, and another one during my lunch break, but I've been staying up late watching Olympics every night....... :P So I have been barely giving myself enough time to complete the essentials everyday. Gotta get to bed a bit earlier.
And I guess that's it for now.

I workout at a University Rec Center since my DH is a student at the University, and to park there I have to get a "University Patron" Parking Permit. Well -- the last time I got one it was a really easy process. Went into the Membership Services office at the Rec Center, filled out a form, paid with a VISA, BAM - Here you go.
Well -- I went in last week and they tell me I have to go to the Transportation Services office this time. :P BOO!
I couldn't go until today and today is the day before classes... so there was a giant line of students trying to get their permits. YUCK. But I get the right form, fill it out, wait in line... and then get told they only accept cash. UGH! I never carry cash. So I had to run to an ATM and back -- luckily they were nice enough to NOT make me wait in line again, but still. I actually did run as much as possible to get SOME activity, because by the time I got my tag I had enough time to get to the gym, shower, and make it to work 10 min late. yuck.
Not that I'm feeling overly sympathetic to my work right now -- but I don't like being late period and definitely won't be making a habit of it or anything so it still bothered me. (Just a little less than usual... haha)
The good news is the scale is already 1lb down from yesterday, as expected.
Tomorrow: Back to excercise, TAKE TWO!
