So this morning I started trying this Pilates thing on the Netflix Instant Viewer/Roku Box thingie... and it sucked. I was just so not into it. :P Like 2 minutes into it she had me trying something that totally killed my tailbone, so no thank you. Plus she was annoying. SO!

Instead I go for one of the Jillian Michaels videos on there. Wasn't sure what to expect, but it was classic Jillian -- a hardcore circuit training experience! :D Loved it. It totally kicked my butt. I'm getting ready to do the Making the Cut program again in September (slightly modified for less workouts) with my Bun Buddy Brigade crew. (See my favorites.) We're gonna start on 9/1. But today made me both nervous and excited about that because I remember how much MTC kicked my butt BEFORE and I think it's harder than the workout I did today............ I dunno. We'll see. :) HAHAHAHA.

Gonna go practice in about 10 minutes (YAY). My hip is still bugging me but better than yesterday, so we'll see how I feel tomorrow.

    Good to hear.

My GF bought me this a little while ago when she knew I was ready to lose some weight. I've been avoiding it as it seems a little ...girly. But a few people here have said it kicks arse and also Sweetmix has convinced me to give it a looksee.

Congrats on your weightloss so far, pretty impressive.

    OMG I have the Jillian workout front and back.I love her!!! She so RULES. I will start that one once I reach my goal of 90 days workout.I'm at day54 today. Your right,I can't stand annoying instructors(Denise Austin) Arrrghhh. I got to like em'. I like Kathy Smith too,I know she's old scholl but not so annoying.Anna Caban has awsome pilates workouts.She's so not annoying.

So FINALLY I ran. It's been a week and a half since the last time I ran, and almost a week since I last excercised (and that was the only time I excercised SINCE the last time I ran.... yeah). So anyway. It was good to finally be doing that again, but it wasn't amazing.

I didn't warm up properly and now my hip hurts. :( WAH. But I'll stretch it and get over it before I run again. And WARM UP next time for sure.

I've also been practicing my trombone (yesterday and today and once last week). I have an audition for the Community Band on Monday. It's not really a big deal because everyone makes it, it's just for chair and part placement. :) hahahaha. But still -- I want to put my best foot forward. Someone I used to know at FSU, which I was there as an undergrad they were getting a graduate degree (possibly their second grad degree I dunno). Anyway! They play trombone... and they might be doing my audition for all I know. So I want to live up to their expectations. And the only way this audition really matters to me is if I can get first chair -- so that if there are any solos (which probably there won't be -- trombone solos are NOT very common...) then I get to play them. Otherwise, I don't really care what part I play. I like playing the 3rd trombone parts because they often have fun bass stuff going on... 2nd is kinda boring most of the time... but whatever I get is fine.

ANYWAY. So I did practice yesterday and today, and will continue to practice every day this week. Ideally I'd like to get in a session at home before work, and another one during my lunch break, but I've been staying up late watching Olympics every night....... :P So I have been barely giving myself enough time to complete the essentials everyday. Gotta get to bed a bit earlier.

And I guess that's it for now.

    That's cool that you play the trombone. I wonder if there are community bands like that everywhere? I would love to get involved with one of those. I play the saxophone, although mine needs some work. I haven't played since high school, but I'd love an excuse to get into it again.

I'm back from camping, and I am so glad to hear you are feeling better! Good for you on that run girl! Wohoo!

The trombone huh? That takes a lot of talent to play! It'll be fun to hear all about the band, and where your chair is and everything. I think you'll do great! (only because you do great in so many other things!)

    Glad to hear you are back in the exercise game, I may try and ride my bike today for a bit and see how my lungs do but I am still feeling a bit of this cold in my chest so we will see how it goes.

Trombone solo made me smile lol I don't think I ever heard of a Trombone solo before :P

I workout at a University Rec Center since my DH is a student at the University, and to park there I have to get a "University Patron" Parking Permit. Well -- the last time I got one it was a really easy process. Went into the Membership Services office at the Rec Center, filled out a form, paid with a VISA, BAM - Here you go.

Well -- I went in last week and they tell me I have to go to the Transportation Services office this time. :P BOO!

I couldn't go until today and today is the day before classes... so there was a giant line of students trying to get their permits. YUCK. But I get the right form, fill it out, wait in line... and then get told they only accept cash. UGH! I never carry cash. So I had to run to an ATM and back -- luckily they were nice enough to NOT make me wait in line again, but still. I actually did run as much as possible to get SOME activity, because by the time I got my tag I had enough time to get to the gym, shower, and make it to work 10 min late. yuck.

Not that I'm feeling overly sympathetic to my work right now -- but I don't like being late period and definitely won't be making a habit of it or anything so it still bothered me. (Just a little less than usual... haha)

The good news is the scale is already 1lb down from yesterday, as expected.

Tomorrow: Back to excercise, TAKE TWO!

    I totally feel you on the cash thing,...I NEVER have any unless I know I'm going somewhere that I'm going to need it (like a fair or a festival or something). Otherwise I just always assume that everyone takes plastic,... not always the case and I'm always shocked and disappointed if I go somewhere and they only take cash.

  I'm still annoyed with myself that I started working out two weeks before graduation. Four years of access to a gym that I never used and now I have to pay for it. I hated the business office (that was also the registrar's office to save money) during the first two weeks of school.

So today's weighin was a bit higher, but still within my range, so WOOHOO. I know why it was higher too.

Apparently my DH was sweetly under the impression that lots of chocolate and cookies and scones and oh yes, chinese food, would help me feel better. He DID buy a big bottle of orange juice that I downed this weekend, but the rest of the food... not so sure. :D hahahaha. And pizza for dinner (homemade, not from scratch) Friday AND Saturday... and then Chinese food yesterday... so yeah.

I'm hoping that combined with no excercise most of last week is definitely to blame for this morning's weighin being at the higher end of my maintenance range, and that now that I'm...

FEELING BETTER! HURRAH! :D and I can get back to excercise this week, and paying better attention to my food, things will go more toward the middle/low end again.

Still slightly sniffly, but nothing compared to how I was feeling before. I didn't get to work out today -- just got plenty of sleep and did the grocery shopping -- but plan to get back in the swing of things EASILY tomorrow. Don't want to push too hard too fast.

Haven't run since Saturday before last, though, so that's making me a bit nervous. I think I will run tomorrow for sure.

Haven't heard about the J-O-B yet, but then again I just got in and my boss isn't back from lunch yet, so I haven't had a chance to ask anything yet.

Regarding Twilight -- I've devoured the first two books (the one good thing about being sick) and had nothing to read yesterday -- I was so antsy. No one's turned in the 3rd or 4th book to the library yet. :( WAH! So I'm starting to read another book in the meantime although I didn't want to do that... it'll be ok. :D hahaha. I feel SO CHEESY for being into these books, but hey, it's FUN. So there. :P

I am at the high end of my range too, not liking it, but it is what it is....up a few pounds but down antoher clothing size, thinking it is muscle gain (hoping...lol)

Don't worry about taking a week off running - you'll get right back into it quickly...just don't push too hard for your next run. Aim to do less than you think you can do, then gradually build over the next week!
