Well, I almost didn't make it this morning, but I did get in some excercise. It was fast and furious, but I did it. I didn't think through my wake-up time very well, and things also happened to make me be even slower.... :P But I got to the gym.
I almost forwent ST for more time on the bike, but I thought about it and reminded myself that calorie burn is not my top priority right now as much as building strength and muscle, so I did 4 Lower Body excercises and moved on to a hardcore interval bike session -- I read recently about a plan that uses a 1 minute high, 2 min low to increase body fat loss. So I did that today just for the heck of it. It was fun -- I wish I could have had more time, but I felt really good about the fact that I didn't just give up on it since I didn't have much time. The total calorie burn estimate for the time I put in is 329 calories, and I can definitely use that. It was worth it for sure. And tomorrow I will swim and do Upper Body and Core to finish out the week. :)
6/12: (1950+552) - 1700 = 802
Ate a Making the Cut recipe last night that was really good, and I'll be having it today for lunch so I'm really looking forward to that. :) Shrimp, Broccoli, and Sundried Tomatoes w/ Pasta. It uses fat free cream cheese and chicken broth to make a kind of creamy flavorful sauce. OH! I made the horrible mistake of buying shrimp that were only sans head -- not peeled OR deveined. UGH, they were right mixed in with the other kind apparently because I was looking at those and then saw this package had closer to the weight I was looking for and bought it, then I pulled them out to make dinner last night and realized I had a LOT of work to do... :P BOO!
6/9-6/12 = 2559, Average/Day = 639.75
941 calories of deficit till my goal, and 3 days to get it. :)
Today we had an "Ice Cream Social" as part of Employee Appreciation Week. They purchased Fudgsicles, Ice Cream Sandwiches, and Vanilla Ice Cream Bars (you know with the chocolate on the outside?) The cool thing is -- they got No Sugar Added stuff. :D So I had a sandwich and it was only 110 calories!! WOOHOO!!! Since I was handing them out I got a look at the box and jotted down the nutrition facts -- it also had 3g of fiber. Crazy, huh? :D hahahaha.
Today so far:
6/13: (1950+329) - 1063 = 1216
I think for dinner tonight will be the Chicken w/ Mango BBQ Sauce recipe from The Food You Crave. We'll see.

... my Runner's Yoga class!! Who would have thought I would adore it so much! (OK, I had an inkling... which is why I signed up. hahaha)
But still! It was GREAT today -- ran about 5K outside and then came back for the Yoga and Pilates. We did "Sun Salutations", which is a phrase I've heard before but I'm a newbie to Yoga so this was all new to me. COOL! AWESOME! Then we did some Pilates stuff which was also awesome. Challenging, yet doable. Perfect.
We also got shown a move that our teacher likes to use in his Personal Training apparently (he's a personal trainer as well).
You get in a crab walk position and do tricep dips, then with right leg raisedstraightpointed, then switch legs, then with both feet down you do a dip, and then spring up and twist body, punching your right hand out towards your left side and bringing your body in line with your arm, then go back into a dip and do the same thing on the other side. IT WAS AWESOME. I am definitely going to add this to my arsenal. I feel like it's a secret weapon move like the Pike Crunches w/ Stability Ball. :D hehehe.
Yesterday... I did not do any upper body ST. Sorry -- it was late, I was tired, so yesterday was a TRUE and COMPLETE day off. I'm not sticking to my June Goals 100% with this, but I'm satisfied and I'm ok with it. Next week we'll be back to 100%.

Not too shabby for a day with a big GOOSE EGG on "Calories burned through excercise". :)
Today I think I know what we're eating for dinner, and if so my deficit tracking for today (assuming I resist all treat temptations) will look like this:

Just trying to see where I am so far this week with my day off and everything -- SO! Including today's estimated deficit...
6/9-6/12 = 2596, Average/Day = 649
OK, so I feel better now about my day off....
So between the next 3 days I've just got to get about 904 calories of deficit, and with tomorrow and Saturday having excercise planned I'm feeling confident about reaching my 3500 cal deficit goal for the week.

... I vetoed the gym this morning altogether. It would have been really good to get some swimming in, but instead I did something I've been meaning to do for ages and got these PICTURES UPDATED! :P hahaha.
I took pictures of my Gym ID Card that I had to get before going to the gym. I took that picture RIGHT before starting this whole transformation. At the time, I thought, GREAT PICTURE!!!! :D It does look cute, I look pretty, I liked my outfit, makeup, etc. Now, I just look... weird to myself. My face looks so BLOATED compared to what I'm used to now -- and check out the extra chin!
Then there's the new DL photo -- which is kinda unflattering... hahahaha. I look slightly blotchy and alien, but look at the DIFFERENCE!!!!
My ID cards have taken a HUGE transformation over the past year.
I also added a couple new pictures in my photo gallery. (The tan ish shirt and jeans pictures!)
But yeah, as for the gym today -- sore, TOM realllly kicked it into high gear, tired, had to be at work 2 hrs earlier than usual, had to finally take care of these pictures.... yeah.
I will do some upper body ST tonight to keep things moving along but other than that I think my body needs a break today.

So far I haven't eaten much or done much... so I'm not going to bother with any numbers at this point. This week is Employee Appreciation week and my work, though, and there is food of some kind being provided. I have yet to see what it is, but we'll see how that goes. :)

So today was the highly anticipated FIRST DAY OF CLASS. :D EEH!
Our teacher is a dude (for some reason I was expecting a girl), a very lanky dude named Greg. His face makes me think of a ... Robin Hood? A lanky elfish Robin Hood? hahaha Not sure why. There are four other women in the class -- two older, two younger. We briefly talked before getting started about our running experience and there was one older woman and one of the younger women that have done half marathons before and the older woman has at one time done a marathon as well!!!! Then the other younger woman said she's run about a 5K before, and the other older woman said she runs on a treadmill for 30 minutes.
Our teacher was like, let's go 5 miles. And us more inexperiencedwithdistance runners were like... 5 miles..? And he's all like, we'll do it together, if we need to walk we'll walk, or if we need to turn around sooner we will. So we're all like OK! LET'S GO!
So! We set off and not too far into our run, about 10min or so, the youngdistancerunner was like I HAVE TO PEE! and detoured towards a building on campus, so we all followed her and took a short break while she went and the treadmill lady and marathoner and 5K girl and I stayed outside and talked with our teacher. The farthest she's ever run is 3.2 miles. I told her, well the farthest I've ever run is 4 but we were discussing how the distance is a mental thing and whatnot. ANYWAY! Back to running!
So it turns out I'm kinda in the middle of our pack the whole way. Mostly more close to the front two (our distance runners). Treadmill lady was having the most difficulty and 5K girl was staying closer to her and the teacher most of the time.
There were times when us "faster" ladies would run up ahead and turn around and then run back the same way so we could let them catch up with us while still moving. At one point the youngdistance girl was way up ahead and our teacher ran up to her and then ran back to where I was, next, and was like,"Yyou're doing great! She keeps running ahead but now she's out of gas. I challenged her to a sprint but she turned me down." I looked ahead and she was stalled at a road crossing and not jogging in place, kinda leaning over and whatnot. HEH HEH.
Marathon lady mentioned she had recently done a 10 mile trail run -- she was so nice! She kept back with the slower runners for a while while our teacher ran up to old speedy and I was kinda in between and he sent me on a detour to get closer to the ones behind me. :P So I get rewarded for my good running with extra work. ;) hehehe. Then I was coming up a little behind them and he came up with me and we ran a little faster to catch up.
ANYWAY! POINT BEING, IT WAS FUN. When we're in the home stretch kinda and catching up after my detour he was like, we'll just do the running today since we did so much. I asked how long we'd been running and he's like, oh it'll be about an hour when we get back. I WAS LIKE WOW!!!!!!! I've never run longer than 45ish minutes before. :) Then it was me and the distance runners -- speedy up front, marathoner not tooo far ahead of me, and then me running up to the Rec Center. At one point I turned around and I was like.... where are the other folks??? They apparently took a shorter cut to get there around the same time as us. So I get up and the teacher is waiting, and I look over and marathoner is cheering the others to the finish! :D Treadmill lady and 5K girl are heading across the grass and almost there!!! We whooped and cheered them on until they made it back. Speedy had disappeared.
We all regrouped in the classroom after finding Speedy and did some nice stretching. Again our teacher praised me in front of the class and said I did a great job with a good steady pace! WOOHOO! :D hahahaha.
Turns out we went a little over 5 miles. FIVE MILES. My longest distance to date!!! Took about an hour, BUT, that's also including the potty break. ;)
I was so proud of treadmill lady. Next class the plan is to run less, do more abs. I'm very excited! :D Someone asked what we'd do if it rained, I was like RUN! :D And I was the only one... but since he's a personal trainer he's like, we'll just do something else -- maybe run a few miles indoors and then do more of the yoga and pilates -- or even do some spinning. I kind of hope it rains one day so I can see what the spinning studio is like and everything... ;) HAHAHA.
So! Lots of awesome today. I did a few HIGHLY INTENSE ab moves after class since we did not do abs and today was supposed to be core training. It was also supposed to be biking but after 5 miles of running outdoors I was pooped for cardio.

Definitely looking forward to enjoying some of that homemade bread tonight.
Tomorrow's plan is for Swimming and Lower Body ST. I may switch to Upper Body -- my butt and hip muscles are just soooooo sore right now. I will be doing lots of stretching to try to make them feel happier, but I might also give them a bit more rest before focusing on them with ST again.

So, tomorrow is the first day of Runner's Yoga and thinking about it makes me a little nervous, but I'm also very excited. :) I just don't know what to expect! :D
First a recap of last week's deficit tracking:

YEAH! I haven't really gone down though, only back to 171.2 again. I think my scale likes that number. I did see 170.4 for a brief moment on Saturday, though, and this week is TOM so I'm hoping after this week I can expect a drop!
Had a weekend that started out VERY frustrating, but was an enjoyable weekend nonetheless.
I MADE MY FIRST SUCCESSFUL BREAD!!! SO GOOD. The Bread Bible is GENIUS. :) hehehe. The key to my success! I actually made one small error in the recipe and it still turned out good. We had sandwiches from the bread last night. Now I just need to get a real normal sized loaf pan because I had to make two small loaves, which were awesome.... but not like normal sized bread? Actually now that I think about it, the bread was the exact size of the meat and cheese so maybe it's PERFECT sized bread. ;) hehehe. And it wasn't very hard!!!
Also -- The pork chop/slaw recipe tasted SO GOOD after sitting in the fridge as leftovers. I ate the leftovers as lunch on both Saturday and Sunday. Also, the "Fettucine with Creamy Red Pepper Sauce" was very good as well. I'm going to try a "Chicken w/ Mango Barbecue Sauce" Recipe this week, which involves making your own Mango Barbecue Sauce so I'm pretty excited about that. :D
I also tried on some clothes on a whim while I was shopping and I think I MIGHT be a size 10 almost? I tried on a size 10 and a size 12 from the same kind of pants and they fit almost the same...... the crotch was too short. So I think it's just that brand of pants is weird because I seem to remember the same problem when I tried them on before. (George at WalMart?) But I could definitely get into the size 10's! Will have to try some other brands to see how I really am. Oh and I picked up a shirt in a size small and tried it on with the pants and.... it fit. The label read size 4/6!!!
I need to get some clothes that fit! hahahaha. But... need money first. So I'm working hard. Just thought I'd share my fun little moment at the store when I was like, wHAAAT? But I have been feeling extra skinny lately -- I wish my scale would stop giving me error's when trying to get my body fat %. I need to take some measurements as well. Maybe I will be able to find the time tomorrow.
I got a calling at church as well -- I'm going to be the Ward Chorister, which basically means I pick the songs we sing in church each Sunday and conduct them from the stand. :) A good calling for me, I think.
Today was Upper and Lower Body ST and Swimming. Since I was doing both Upper and Lower Body I took advantage and did some combination moves -- W Shoulder Presses w/ Leg Extensions, and Hammer Curls w/ Pendulum Lunges, and then I did some excercises just for lower and then just for upper body. Then swimming. I got called in to work early today so I was a LITTLE pressed for time, but I think I definitely made the most of it.
Today so far:

This does also include 2 snacks and lunch, none of which I have eaten yet, but I'll be at work an extra hour so I'm expecting that I will be needing them. :) Dinner tonight will be relatively light so that bodes well for my deficit -- some kind of chicken and a rice pilaf. Not sure yet how I'm going to prepare the chicken. We were going to have this last night but my bread came out and it was like... GOTTA EAT THIS AMAZING BREAD! :D I have another loaf which will be eaten tomorrow night. :D WOOHOO!!! I'm still so jazzed about making bread. HAHAHA. And no bread machine, folks, all by hand.
P.S. -- It's Employee Appreciation Week at my work and I just won a Goody Bag as a Door Prize... A Diet Coke, Cheetos, and candy. HAHAHAHA :D At least the soda is 0 cal? :D
