No, no injuries, just terrible terrible SORE-ness. I'm glad tomorrow is an "off" day.

Bummer of a thing I have to take care of though -- I got a ticket today. :( For parking in the rec center lot without a pass. I forgot that I didn't have a parking pass on this car, only on my husband's car. BOO!!!!!! And I've been twice during the week without it and gotten away with it apparently. :P Anyway, the ticket said for those who aren't students or faculty/staff, first time offenses can be waived, so I'm gonna go see about getting it waived since it's $25.00, but I have to get a patron tag in the membership services office for the next time I go, and I'm just nervous now that I'll get ticketed while getting the tag! EEK!

BAH. And I asked about getting the tag riiiggght before I left today... because I remembered. But it was too late. It sucks because the office is only open at the same times the lot can be ticketed... so how am I supposed to get it without getting a ticket? I guess we'll see.

But I am sooooooooooooooooo sore.

My legs just... are on the verge of giving out!!! Everytime they have to make a bending motion. Luckily I can walk mostly by just kinda throwing my feet out there but if I lean back or try to sit down or anything like that -- OWWWWWWWWWWW. I can feel it in my arms and shoulders and chest today, too. All those LUNGES!!! GOOD GRIEF!!!! It's like every single part of my legs from the knees all the way up through the hip flexors/butt is sore.

:) HOW FUN! hahahahaa. At least I know I'm challenging myself. We'll see if I can manage Day One on Thursday.

Oh and the Mountain Climbers -- I made it about half a minute both times instead of the full minute -- which is a LOT BETTER than yesterday!!

    Ouch..I know what you mean about being sore. I did Wii Boxing after having not done in a while and the next day I was super sore.

Hey congrats on the soreness!! That's great...sounds like that program is really gonna get you in rock hard shape!! You'll be bouncing quarters off your butt soon!! :P

YAY for the soreness! What program are you doing? Do you ever work out with a personal trainer?

I'm in a quandary. I want to go to the gym to work out today, but my hair looks absolutely fantastic. So I don't want to get all sweaty and ruin it, because I have no idea how to get it to do this again! ;-p

Making the Cut = Kicking My BUTT!

SO! Yesterday was Day One --

IT WAS SOOOO HARD!!!!!! I was sweating like CRAZY, it was ridiculous. I actually started feeling a little over halfway through that kind of pukey feeling I was getting right before the fainting fiasco of 2007 (See the entry from July, 30th, page 22 if you're interested) -- SO!! With my past experience I learned that I need to LISTEN TO MY BODY. So I slowed down a bit, and did 10 Squat Thrusts instead of 20, didn't really manage the Mountain Climbers at all... but completed it mostly.

I'm going back for more punishment today -- GOTTA STAY ON TRACK! HAHAHAHA ;) I will be careful not to push myself too hard.

I figure I can complete it once with some modifications, then go back and do it perfectly when I'm more fit at some point. This will be great! :) And it suggests in the book repeating each circuit twice for a "more intense challenge" so if I get CRAZY fit, I can even do that. :) I can use the program as a kind of tool to measure my progress and fitness by how capably I can complete it.

ANYWAY!!! LATER!!!!!

    My change in workout isn't near as hard as yours, but hopefully reading how you are are enduring it and kicking it in gear can help me keep it going too!

Congrats - great job!!! Now I feel lazy and want to go workout again :)

    Wow I havent felt that way in a long time. Makes me remember my first day of high school football practice. Thats what ended up happening to a lot of the other guys not me of course but I felt like doing it or passing out. I was scared of passing out since the coach would be all in your face saying what kinda of sissy you and to get up or drop down and give him 20 pushups.

Somewhat terrified???

SO -- I had a GREAT weighin today. :) 184, 25. something % body fat, WOOHOO!!!

I wrote it down so I can get it right later, but YAY. It seems that getting straight on my hormones has got me back to my normal self.

ANYWAY.

Back to why I'm slightly terrified -- I'm starting MAKING THE CUT today. EEEK!!

I'm gonna leave for a long lunch at 2PM and go to the gym and DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's going to be so hard.... but I'm going for it. :) I counted out the days and if I do it exactly to plan, starting today has me off on every Sunday which is preferable. So we'll see how this goes...

It basically consists of 5 circuits of 2-5 strength training type moves sandwiched with a minute of cardio in between each circuit. I'm nervous for how hard it's going to be, but I'm also excited to have a plan to follow that will reallllly change things up. It's all about not being repetitious, which is what I hear is really good. BUT! I'm excited and nervous. :)

    It's tough... Just being honest... BUT you feel so awesome (exhausted) when you get done. I actually felt like I had done something great for my body. I actually had to pause the program because of ... well, "life", so I am starting day one today! Maybe we can keep up with each other and cheer each other on!

AWWW YAY! What a wonderful surprise to logon and find a SparkMail from someone congratulating me on being in the Spotlight! :) Then I visit my page and find tons of wonderful comments!

Thank you to everyone who visited (or will visit) my page today and your comments!!! It is really wonderful to be at this stage in my health/fitness journey, but I did start out with nothing. I did not excercise, I was eating like CRAP, and I was almost 300lbs. If you're just starting out -- remember -- YOU CAN DO THIS. You just have to stick with it and don't give up even if you make a mistake it doesn't mean your progress is all down the drain. If you keep moving in the right direction, you will get there eventually.

P.S. -- My workout went well last night. :) WOOHOO!!

    You inspire me with the comment that you did not exercise in the beginning...I need to do more.

Yet, I feel inadequate so I put it off. I have done some exercises that sparkpeople put out for on the chair, and the WATP that is a DVD we can get on our cable channel on demand. Yet, you would think I would do more. I know this jiggly body needs tightening.

    Thanks Dana, for keeping me motivated! The menopause thing is kind of a bummer, but after any random day of teaching Kindergarten, I am kind of reminded of why it might be best that Mother Nature do its thing and forgo giving me another baby.

SOOoooooOOOO. :) I'm still a little sore today - WOOHOO!! I can't wait to go work that soreness out as soon as I get off of work. I'm feeling a little tired -- maybe slept a bit TOO much last night, but today was a great day. :)

Woke up when I woke up. No alarm, NOTHIN'.

Watched the Season Premiere of America's Next Top Model and some of the new episode of Biggest Loser that were saved for me on TiVo.

ALSO! Last night I went to Barnes & Noble and picked up a couple of books: Making the Cut by Jillian Michaels, and a cookbook.

I haven't looked at Making the Cut yet, but it was recommended by a good SparkFriend (KACHAFFE82) who seems to like a real KICKBUTT workout, and I've come to like Jillian over time... so yeah. :)

The cookbook was in the bargain books and it's meals based on the Glycemic Index. While I don't want to base my whole diet on counting Glycemic Index Numbers, the properties of the food this kind of diet recommends seem to align with a lot of the ways I want to eat. SO! I flipped through it and it had some good looking stuff and it was 10% off of $9.98 (CHEAP for a cookbook), so I picked it up. :) I looked at it a little bit last night. I think it might have been written by a Brit. It always had aubergines in parentheses for eggplants was one clue. But anyway, some of the recipes were kinda WEIRD, but a lot of them look REALLLLLLLY good. :) The fat is a bit high for some of the recipes, but I can always tweak the recipes a bit for my purposes. It looks really good.

So anyway - GYM tonight, gonna go for my 30min superintense cardio + focuses ST plan again tonight. Didn't get lower body ST in last night, so I might do a couple tonight for that -- but to be honest -- although I know it'd be ideal to be incorporating lower body ST, my lower body gets a really great workout from the cardio I do, so I will definitely put the priority in my ST on Upper Body and then Core. My upperbody needs the most work.

I'm not going to guilt myself into not doing ST just because I didn't do my lower body stuff last night like I thought I might. :P I'm getting in there and sticking to my guns!!! (And working on my guns. HAR HAR.)

Since the DH isn't coming along tonight, I know I'll have extra time so we'll just see. It also means I WANT to go home quicker. ;) hahaha.

But the plan is - Gym tonight. Work tomorrow. Tomorrow night - HAVE FUN (maybe start looking at Making the Cut?). Saturday - GYM. Also, look more seriously at the cookbook and plan some meals to try. Get some small groceries as needed. And look at Making the Cut (some more?). But mostly also - RELAX.
Sunday - Church + laundry. :P hahaha. :D And more relaxing.

I'm not going to run myself ragged like I did last weekend -- I learned my lesson. ;)
