Well --

UGH is for the fact that yesterday I was just plain too exhausted to go to the gym. And for the fact that I planned instead to go today and didn't.

AHH is for the fact that I actually SLEPT WELL last night and although I had to get up early still today to go get my car from my sister registered and whatnot -- I had a RELAXING MORNING and didn't come into work until my REGULARLY SCHEDULED TIME. I really feel refreshed -- which is good. Because I have to work this Saturday as well. I do not want to just get completely burned out and throw in the towel on everything.

I'm still eating well -- and I actually got to walk a bit this morning.

The stupid Courthouse Annex is on a different block than the Courthouse and is a completely... NON Courthouse-y looking building with NO identifying signs or marks other than a tiny sign in the window that lists a building permit information and the name handwritten on it? YEAH. So I drove around forever in the same couple of blocks looking for it -- then parked a couple of blocks over from the courthouse and figured if I walk the distance in between (where it's SUPPOSED to be) I'll find it. I didn't. I got to the courthouse and there was a sign in the window explaining where it was -- then I was like THAT building?!?!? It's like... a low wide building with windows lining the entire thing -- tinted windows with blinds so you can't make out anything inside. ? Anyway.

So then I go in and they tell me they have to "inspect" the car, so I have to walk back over to where I parked it and drive it over. HAHAHA. It was so cold outside, too! (I say "inspect" because the dude wrote down the VIN, Tag # and mileage (which I read to him). I don't think I'd call that an inspection, but whatever...)

Then I was looking at the time and realizing if I went to the gym, I'd be running home to get clothes for work and making a lunch and going straight to work and I am just sick and tired of running running running all the time so I was like -- well -- at least I walked a bit. I'm going home!

And that's my story!!!

Also I weighed this morning at roughly 187.6 after a pretty high sodium dinner last night, so I'm pretty relieved and the ticker is staying. We'll count next Tuesday's OFFICIAL weigh-in no matter WHAT it says and no more playing around. :P

I got my DH chipotle caramels and some special aged cheddar chips from the health food store. The calories are comparable to regular potato chips -- but the fat is almost all monounsaturated!!! If there's any saturated fat (I can't rememer), it's barely anything. So it's a special treat but it's not AWFUL for him. ;)

I couldn't wait so I presented him with that stuff this morning, but I apparently have a gift waiting for me for tonight so yay!

4 more hours of work. :P *sigh* But the afternoon went very quickly and so I think the evening will as well.

    Happy Valentine's Day sweet lady!! Sounds like you had a great day and a relaxing day...you needed it for sure!! I know you work hard and that's all well and good and the money is awesome, but don't forget to take care of yourself!!! Hubby's treats sounds yummy...be sure to let us know what your surprise is...that is if you can! Hehehehe!! ;)

Still up today -- but we had kinda a high sodium dinner and still not enough sleep. SOOOOooooooooooooo.....

I'm also having a feminine health problem. So fellas -- TUNE OUT NOW if you're not interested.

When I went to get my hair cut and visit my sister, I forgot to bring my BC with me. I missed two pills. I took the missing ones and my scheduled one when I got back, and the next day I started bleeding. It's been a week and I'm still bleeding. It's not heavy -- well it was the first few days, but it's not stopping either. It's like JUST enough that I don't want to leave it to a liner, but not enough that I really feel like a tampon is necessary either. It's like a steady trickle at this point. It's really getting on my nerves and I'm starting to be worried since it hasn't stopped yet. Should I be worried about this? I'm also wondering if I should just start my next pack back to back without the hormone free pills because do I really need another period already???? This is the last week of hormone pills in my current pack. I really don't want to go talk to a Dr so just some thoughts -- opinions??? Anyone have this experience before? My periods are usually med flow for like 3 days as a reference point I guess.

But anyway -- I'm also kinda wondering if my plumbing being all off schedule is messing with the scale as well.

EDIT: Thank you for your replies!!! I don't have a regular Dr - I go to a Health Dept for BC, so I'm not sure who I would call. I posted to a forum on WebMD that is hosted by an RN, RNP, soooooo I'm HOPING she'll reply and not just a bunch of goobers on the site. hahaha :D The information for my BC (Lo/Ovral) says to take 2 pills a day for 2 days if you miss two days, which may be where I made the mistake, but it doesn't really go into detail about anything like my current situation. I might just try calling a nurse at the Urgent Care place I usually go for when we get sick, etc., if I can't get a reply from the nurse on WebMD. :) Thanks everyone!!!!!!!!!

EDIT AGAIN: She responded and said not to worry, and just finish out this pack normally and start a new one. She said that if the missed pills were in the 3rd active week to skip the placebos, but they were in the first active week (the end of the 1st week) so I am just going to go on as normal. Yay.

    Yeah, I am with the rest of the ladies... It's the pills. If I skip two pills my period starts... You might have to just start another cycle with a new batch of pills once this period ends. But still, go to the doctor just in case. It's better to be safe than sorry.

    I bet it's tied to the BC pills somehow...hopefully you get a good answer from somewhere! Just wanted to chime in and say hey...I can't help you! Fat lot of good I am huh?? lol But I still love ya!

    Agreed, it's probably just weird after missing the two. Do you still have the insert that came with the pills? You should just be able to call a nurse and ask. Mine gets screwy sometimes too. I'm off now while hubby's gone, though.

    You could probably get the doc or nurse to talk to you over the phone rahter than have to go in. I know that when I was on mine (and then I let the prescription run out - but I'm getting back on this month!) I could just take the pills like normal and it would bring me back to normal. But maybe having all three pills messed it up? I do know that you can take pills back to back without taking the placebo and it's perfectly fine. Ok - that did you little good!

    Oooh, lady bits, always an interesting topic. Dana, BC pills have low dosages of hormones because at higher dosages, there are more side effects. However, going 48 hours was long enough for your body to register the drop in estrogen/progesterone an to begin your bleed. Most doctors would advise you to let it go. And when it's done, begin the new cycle. A few doctors would say to just continue on with the pills, and your body will catch up.

No two women are the same, so what works for me might not work for you. I think it's better to bleed and start fresh, so to speak. If you take the pills, you might confuse your body and end up needed several cycles to straighten out. (That was my experience.)

    Yep, I agree with Kaesiah. Better to call the doc just in case to make sure that there isn't anything wrong. Ugh...I understand completely. I don't like docs either, especially THOSE ones! Good luck and I hope it gets cleared up soon.

I'm down a little bit, but still up from last week as of this morning. I haven't been getting a good night's rest though and I always weigh less on a day when I get more sleep.

I'm going to hold off on moving the tracker for a while and see how it goes. I know I'll probably get to sleep well tomorrow night -- I'm still getting up super early tomorrow. :P So if Thursday Morning's weigh-in is still up, I'll face reality and move the tracker.

I think I'm going to try to remain consistent with my weigh-ins though too -- if all last week it had been getting higher and higher, that's one thing, if it jumped up the day after pizza that's another. I really don't know because I wasn't weighing as often as I usually do. I really like being able to be aware of these things. So this week it's daily weigh-ins to check my status!!!!

    So you have become an addict of the scale. I think from time to time we all get like that, then we get the patch or stop cold turkey. Sleep is very appropriate for helping weight loss. Your body needs the sleep, but then again this is real life and real life sometimes has its sleepless nights. But you know your probably stressing yourself out that its taking a toll on your weight loss. Its good you haven't been weighing yourself as often but then again you stress if you don't. I hope everything straightens out and you get back in order.

    I agree with on the sleep bit. I have often wondered if I could just go to bed for a week and wake up a dress size smaller. ;-p

You know perfectly well that weight fluxuates a bit, so don't beat yourself up about it. ... And let me know if you need me to cast my Fatronus! haha

    I agree about not letting the scale be a guide and the daily weigh ins. I am a scaled addict! lol. But I try to make sure that I don't let it get me down to bad when I don't see the number that I was hoping for. It sounds like you know what to do though and that is what counts. :)

    i weigh in daily too and I feel so much better about it. I can notice trends and things make more sense when I weigh in daily. One important thing to remember is to not let the scale take over. Use it as a guide and thats it. If I see that I am up I look at the previous day and see what I did, or didn't do. I don't beat myself up over it. You can do this!

Alright folks -- so no, I haven't gotten on a scale again and I won't until tomorrow morning -- BUT!!!!!!! The rational mind has taken over and the morning freakout has departed. :)

I've been drinking water like it's nobody's business and PEEING like it's nobody's business, and I'm sure that bloat is washing right out of me.

Even if it doesn't -- where am I at 190lbs? At a health weight, with 100lbs lost, and still keeping my healthy habits and working towards my goals. Even if I have a fluctuation setback -- even if my weigh-in tomorrow is still high -- I know I'm still on track.

PLUS! I'm going to the gym tonight. So WOO HOO.

My DH is skipping on the gym to go see a movie. WAHHHHHHHHHHH. HAHAHA :) No it's really ok. It's just more fun to go with him there for some reason. This past Saturday we made a date. Now that we have two cars, it's kinda interesting. (Although I guess it does enable him to do things like skip the gym for a movie...hmmm hahaha) But anyway, I had to work that morning, so we set up a time to meet at the gym right after I got off of work. :) AND WE DID! It was a workout date. How cute! :D hehehe. And we went to eat at the Pita Pit (A favorite HEALTHIER treat -- there's a nutrition calculator online for their Pitas somewhere...) I usually get a falafel pita.


Work is over soon, and then it's off to the gym!!!

    Ooooh, I love Pita Pit and their handy-dandy calculator! I'm glad you're feeling better - and it's so smart not to let one high reading discourage you. There are so many reasons we may fluctuate a bit BUT also such a smart thing to stay on top of it in case it shows an upward trend. I'm taking notes because I plan to be where you are someday! Maybe that's too much like "I want to be just like you when I grow up". LOL.

I'm glad your freakout is over! I know it's a drag seeing an unwelcome number on the scale, but you KNOW you're doing the right things and that evil scale is sometimes the last to know...so keep it up, you're doing GREAT!

    Yay to having a partner to go to the gym with, and "date"....what is this word you speak of??? LOL. I really really want to join our local YMCA this year, because my hubby loves to work out, and if we could do it together, we would both be more inclined to go. It's kind of hard for me to get in the mood to exercise when he's vegging on the couch watching TV!

The Lament of the Pizza Eater...

AND that would be me. I was weak, friends. Yesterday I ate PIZZA. And cinnamon breadsticks. And today my weight is up to 190. WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

1. I worked out diligently last week and did lots of Pushups and Crunches.
2. I did not go over on any other day.
3. I was eating fruits and veggies when I could.

so PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let this just be a sodium bloat!!!!! Or some wonderful combination of sodium bloat + muscle gain. If I stay around 187 but improve my body fat % from last week, I will be fine. Hopefully I might still post a loss, but sodium bloat for me... at this point I'd be happy if it went back down around 187.

    Ugh I am right there with you today. I had a big old bag of microwave popcorn yesterday and this morning the scale was up a pound. SODIUM!! Just think, next weeks weigh in will look really good because you'll have lost the water weight PLUS whatever you would have lost anyway. That's what I'm telling myself at least =)

    ITA with JP... Just hang out. Splurge once in a while - a piece of pizza and a cinnamon stick or two aren't going to kill you (I mean unless you have other health issues that we are unaware of) but you have to allow yourself a little wiggle room or you're going to binge hard core. You've got two days to flush it out of your system and who knows - you might have lost inches!! Keep the good thought!

    Everything in moderation. If you never have your favorite, less healthy, foods it will just lead to a binge. So your up a bit. Stay on track and you will get back to where you were. You can do this!

    I cast my "fatronus", but it can only protect you to a point. Your weight gain is only a bit of water from sodium, but if the Pizza Dementers get in repeatedly, my Fatronus will be too weak. ;-p

Seriously, I wouldn't worry about one "fun" day out of many "on track days". In fact, the calorie cyclers on this site would say that it's exactly what you need to do to shake up your body a little.
