This week I'm still trying to get back on track. My food has been on track now, it's just the gym and whatnot that is still not quite in order. I'm hoping to regain that order this week. I will be going to the gym tonight, and this week in The Challenge of Harry Potter our challenge is a Pushups and Crunches challenge -- so I intend to make the most of that and really get my Strength Training back in the swing of things as well.
I lost 2lbs this week -- which is good! -- but I didn't really decrease my body fat percentage by anything. Only down 0.1% and that could merely be a fluctuation in the scale. I really let myself down by not doing my excercise like I should have last week in that respect. BUT!!! I still did pretty good -- I missed it because of the wonderful weekend off I took to spend time with my sister before she goes to Mongolia on a mission for a year and a half. :)
I figure that's pretty important. Could I have done some ST while away? YES. That's probably where I would have improved my weekend. ALSO I could have done my laundry and packed sooner, thereby freeing up Thursday night to be able to go to the gym and missing only one gym session instead of two.
I think it's good to be honest and recognize what I could have done better, even though I don't feel like what I chose to do was awful -- just not the best possible solution.
I was able to attend the temple (LDS/Mormon temple) in Atlanta and it's the first time I've been in years. It really really really helped recharge me spiritually. I also got to attend regular church with my mom and sister. My mom is actually the Relief Society President in my home ward. (That's the leader over the women's group in church for those of you non-LDS folks out there.) She somehow manages to do that, and commute over an hour one way to Auburn to work towards her PhD. She is incredible!!!!!!!! Anyway -- she gave a really great lesson about Charity and loving each other. It sounds totally corny, but it was really really good.
I also got to hang out with my dad, which was really fun. We went to eat lunch at Boston Market (never been before!). I was happy to see they had a little menu thing at the front with a bunch of healthy meal options added together with a meat and two sides basically, and some other options, and totals for each grouping. It made it really easy to choose what I wanted to eat. :) We were almost late getting back to the temple because we were talking so long. He is starting the Couch to 5K program -- currently doing walking to work up to the running part -- and he's got a page now so everyone should go visit and say hi! :)
CHARLEYGARRETT is his SparkName. He's keeping a livejournal to track his progress as well - folkstrokes. ANYWAY! I'm very excited that he's gotten spurred on to do this getting healthy thing. He actually is trying to lose weight to gain more control over his diet -- he currently is working against insulin resistance and it will supposedly improve as he is able to decrease his weight and get his body more healthy so a BIG SHOUT OUT TO HIM for getting started!!!! :D
So anyway, we talked about that kind of stuff and other kinds of stuff and it was just fun. Then we helped move my sister out of her apartment -- she had all the big items gone already but that made it almost more difficult because there were tons of little odds and ends. The good news is she lived on a second floor so I got to run up and down the stairs several times carrying things so I did get a LITTLE activity afterall. Then home, hanging out with family, church, hanging out, then I came HOME HOME to my place back in Alabama. Yay.
And I'm really ready to get back on track. Poor DH was a very bad boy while I was gone and is having a hard time getting on track as well -- I'm doing my best to help without being a tyrant. ;)
