Crunches were done! YEAH!

Friday, February 08, 2008

I am happy to report that I did 120 crunches of various types last night, and 50 wall pushups before my arms and abs simply could not do anything more! :) yayyyyyyy. Feeling good. And less then 4 hrs left of work now.

ST Still NOT in check.

Thursday, February 07, 2008

Well -- I didn't get those crunches in last night like I planned on - BOO!!!

I was full of good intentions but when I got home I had to cook and then I just got totally distracted and forgot all about it. I will do some tonight though! Tonight I'm going to the gym and sadly my DH has decided not to go tonight but the good news is since he's going home early, I can spend as much time as I want doing my ST since I take less time getting ready in the end and less time doing cardio... and I'll probably get there sooner... so I can do at LEAST my pushups and crunches like I need to be doing for my HP Challenge.

It's been cold in my office ALL DAY. They need to learn that freezing does not really work. :P Apparently the AC has been requested off or turned down all day to no avail. WAHHHHHHHHHHH.

Right now I'm just feeling whiny.

At least tomorrow will be a normal 8 hr day even if I have to get here just as early, I'll get to leave at 8PM instead of 10PM. Gotta work Saturday though.

6:30AM-1PM. UGH. :P And then to the gym after that. I really need to get some relaxation this weekend -- hubby time -- and some clean up time. I haven't really unpacked since last weekend yet, and things are getting a little chaotic looking at the household. And I probably need to go grocery shopping. So many things to do. This overtime really eats up my "getting stuff done" time. :) But at least it puts the $$$ in my wallet.

Have a great weekend and relax girl. You work so hard you need some good rest time to enjoy your work so far. Keep up the great work.

My house is in dissarray as well. Spending time with my sister has taken away from my normalcy... Laundry is piled up, the refrigerator empty and piles accruing everywhere. Luckily I am off today and can dedicate time to getting all caught up. Extra money is always good though...it will all balance out! Good for you with sticking to going to the gym!!!

like that gym time is so much a part of your life that you miss it when you don't do it. I'm struggling with the challenge this week because I'm still so bloated from last week that my "crunches" (and I'm truly abusing that term) are truly a sight to behold!

Today - Ok so I'm not good at the title thing.

Tuesday, February 05, 2008

This week I'm still trying to get back on track. My food has been on track now, it's just the gym and whatnot that is still not quite in order. I'm hoping to regain that order this week. I will be going to the gym tonight, and this week in The Challenge of Harry Potter our challenge is a Pushups and Crunches challenge -- so I intend to make the most of that and really get my Strength Training back in the swing of things as well.

I lost 2lbs this week -- which is good! -- but I didn't really decrease my body fat percentage by anything. Only down 0.1% and that could merely be a fluctuation in the scale. I really let myself down by not doing my excercise like I should have last week in that respect. BUT!!! I still did pretty good -- I missed it because of the wonderful weekend off I took to spend time with my sister before she goes to Mongolia on a mission for a year and a half. :)

I figure that's pretty important. Could I have done some ST while away? YES. That's probably where I would have improved my weekend. ALSO I could have done my laundry and packed sooner, thereby freeing up Thursday night to be able to go to the gym and missing only one gym session instead of two.

I think it's good to be honest and recognize what I could have done better, even though I don't feel like what I chose to do was awful -- just not the best possible solution.

I was able to attend the temple (LDS/Mormon temple) in Atlanta and it's the first time I've been in years. It really really really helped recharge me spiritually. I also got to attend regular church with my mom and sister. My mom is actually the Relief Society President in my home ward. (That's the leader over the women's group in church for those of you non-LDS folks out there.) She somehow manages to do that, and commute over an hour one way to Auburn to work towards her PhD. She is incredible!!!!!!!! Anyway -- she gave a really great lesson about Charity and loving each other. It sounds totally corny, but it was really really good.

I also got to hang out with my dad, which was really fun. We went to eat lunch at Boston Market (never been before!). I was happy to see they had a little menu thing at the front with a bunch of healthy meal options added together with a meat and two sides basically, and some other options, and totals for each grouping. It made it really easy to choose what I wanted to eat. :) We were almost late getting back to the temple because we were talking so long. He is starting the Couch to 5K program -- currently doing walking to work up to the running part -- and he's got a page now so everyone should go visit and say hi! :)

CHARLEYGARRETT is his SparkName. He's keeping a livejournal to track his progress as well - folkstrokes. ANYWAY! I'm very excited that he's gotten spurred on to do this getting healthy thing. He actually is trying to lose weight to gain more control over his diet -- he currently is working against insulin resistance and it will supposedly improve as he is able to decrease his weight and get his body more healthy so a BIG SHOUT OUT TO HIM for getting started!!!! :D

So anyway, we talked about that kind of stuff and other kinds of stuff and it was just fun. Then we helped move my sister out of her apartment -- she had all the big items gone already but that made it almost more difficult because there were tons of little odds and ends. The good news is she lived on a second floor so I got to run up and down the stairs several times carrying things so I did get a LITTLE activity afterall. Then home, hanging out with family, church, hanging out, then I came HOME HOME to my place back in Alabama. Yay.

And I'm really ready to get back on track. Poor DH was a very bad boy while I was gone and is having a hard time getting on track as well -- I'm doing my best to help without being a tyrant. ;)

You had such a wild time these past few days, it's only natural that you need a few moments to get back on track. I think it's awesome that you got to spend time with your family (although mine tends to stress me out and make me want to eat!) Mongolia. I'm jealous! I hope you apparate over there at some point! And temple ... it's important to feed your soul just like you feed your body.

Sending you hugs and Hershey kisses!

Ok, so now I'm the only person on the planet who hasn't been to Boston market! Thanks for that! lol J/K! That's awesome you were able to spend some time with your dad and I'm so glad you got to recharge spiritually. That's very important, no matter what religion one follows. Sounds like you had a wonderful time and I'm glad you got to spend time with family! AND lost 2 lbs! AND got a wicked awesome haircut...when I grow up I wanna be like you!! :P

Even with a temple just up the hill from my home I don't manage to go as often as I would like. I'm so happy that you were able to go and share that time and experience with your family! I've been to your dad's page and welcomed him. Thanks for pointing us in that direction so that we can be sure he knows how warm and friendly this place can be. :) Your realistic approach to improvement is such a great example. When we can step back and analyze with an eye toward improvement and not beating ourselves up it's SUCH a great thing!

I haven't been to the temple in about 4 years, maybe 5. I went through 7 years ago, and only went 2 more times after that. I know I should try, but hubby doesn't want to go. But... that is great you got to go. I don't think I'd know what to do if I was to go again! And that's awesome about your dad :) Do you have a livejournal too? I do - it's the same user name. Ok - well hope this week is good for you! It's great you still lost weight even without as much exercise.

Doesn't it feel great to recharge once in a while? I'm very much looking forward to the Rexburg temple dedication for that very reason. Idaho Falls is close, but I still don't go as often as I should!

Being able to look at your progress and see where you can improve is a big deal. It's hard to tell yourself that there's still room for improvement, so kudos to you for doing it!

Have a fabulous day!

I'm yourethebiscuits on Flickr. (LINK AT THE BOTTOM OF THE ENTRY).

There are a few more in my SparkPeople Photo Gallery, too. :)

Also I weighed this morning at it actually was down 2lbs from last week - YAY!!! I hope that remains for tomorrow's weighin and I hope it wasn't all muscle. :( WAH! hahaha.

I didn't get to karaoke this weekend -- but I DID GET MY FIRST EVER FULL BODY MASSAGE!!! HAHAHA

So I figure that's ok.

I also got the best haircut EVER in life.

For any of you who live in Atlanta area -- I saw Geoff at the Robert Frost Salon in the Dunwoody area. He was WONDERFUL. :D I asked for it to be somewhere between mod and punk, and that's exactly what I got. It's edgy, modern, and wonderful!!! And I can spike it up when I want to punk it out, and smooth it down like today for work and more of a mod look. :D WOOHOO!!! It was a GREAT birthday weekend.

PHWEW. What a load off of my mind. :)

So tomorrow I'm off for a wonderful weekend in Atlanta during which: HAIR WILL BE CUT. Karaoke will be sung. and Spiritual Experiences will be had.

YESSsssss. :)

Now I can really look forward to it and get excited, and I only have one day to be tapping my toes waiting to go happily. :)

Small bad news -- I'll be missing the gym tonight... and this weekend. Maybe I can go Sunday night, but I probably won't. I'll try to dance my butt off at Karaoke or something. Hahahhaa. :D AND EAT GOOD.

Hey, Dana - sorry I'm late to post. I got wrapped up in my own stuff and didn't pay as much attention to others as I like to.

CONGRATS on the amazing weight loss, LOVE the haircut, SO HAPPY that the private issue is resolved in a way you like, and HAPPY that you got to spend time with your family and in the company of other believers.

YAAAAY! All good. These are my favorite kind of blogs to read. :-p
