Well, this morning I stepped on the scale and it said.......
WOOHOO!!! :) I was prepared for some really SCARY number, so that was a HUGE relief. I intellectually knew it couldn't be THAT bad, because my clothes didn't really feel any different... but then again some of them are so baggy! HAHAHA. Anyway. I'm not changing my ticker because I'm hoping I can lose that extra lb by Monday/Tuesday.
Also, I forgot to mention that I went shopping for some clothes and finally came to work in clothes that FIT ME and everyone was like, wow, you look great, blahblahblah. Ok not EVERYONE, but I did get a few comments on it. I was like, isn't it amazing what some clothes that FIT can do? :) hahahahaha.
I'm very excited because I still even have some more money to spend on clothes, but I got some nice trouser style jeans from Target that fit like a dream, and some tops for work, simple V neck style, and one slightly more special scoop neck top with a bit of ruching on the shoulders. I also got this reallllly cool silver jacket!!! Not sure exactly when/where I'll be wearing it because it's slightly dressy, but it'll definitely be ok for work.
As soon as I can get my pictures on to the computer/mysister does so I can steal them, I'll share some pictures from our vacation -- some lovely full body shots from the beach. No I'm not in a bathing suit -- I still don't own one -- but it was 80 degrees and GORGEOUS outside!!! :) (That's a south florida Christmas for you!)
Being back at work kinda sucks, but it's nice because apparently everyone is REALLY GLAD I'm back. :D HAHAHA. I finally got caught up on most of the things I needed to get caught up on today. Last night was mostly about waiting to get to go home.

OH good GRIEF.
I did not do as well as I expected myself to do while gone...
I DID do well on the working out!!! Only missed ONE day. :) I actually worked out on Christmas Morning, believe it or not. Listened to Hanson's Christmas album. :) hahahaha.
But the FOOD.
Cuban Restaurant -- Ooooh PLANTAIN SOUP! Fried plantains a plenty, steak, some fries, some other fried things... SO GOOD... my grandmother constantly providing food and always asking if we've had enough when I'm totally STUFFED, Trying to get on track when driving all day, ate a light breakfast but never stopped allllllll day. Got to the in-laws and they had these AMAZING cookies out!!!! ALSO not to mention, I ate at every restaurant I never get to eat at.
So... I dunno. I dunno how I did. I haven't weighed myself yet. I came back today and had just enough time to change and come in to work. I plan to check my results tomorrow.
BOTTOM LINE: WHATEVER HAPPENS, IT WILL BE OK.
If I see 200 again, so be it. I know I can overcome this obstacle and my wayward actions during the holidays. I am proud of myself for the changes I DID make during the season. I did eat LESS than I normally WOULD have. I WORKED OUT while on VACATION.
I RAN OUTSIDE IN THE COLD. Granted, I could only run for like 20 minutes... I still don't have warm weather running gear and I foolishly thought I was going to be ok, but I wasn't. :P
I DID MY STRENGTH TRAINING. So not only did I get in some cardio, I did squats, bridges, crunches, reverse crunches, dumbell curls, tricep extensions, all that good stuff.
I am really really really realllllly anxious to get back to normal though. Tracking is going to be very important to me these next weeks. In fact, I'm going to make it the first challenge for the new Spring Semester of the Challenge of Harry Potter.
FYI: THE TEAM IS CURRENTLY PUBLIC. So if you're interested in being a Hogwarts student, feel free to join. I'm going to turn it private soon if an insane amount of people join. :P :)

I am going on holiday, so if anyone wonders where I am... THAT'S WHERE! :) I'll be putting up my Spark Break icon as a reminder.
Hope everyone has a WONDERFUL HOLIDAY!!!!!!!!!!! :D

I chalk it up to the fact that I'm ridiculously bored at work and no longer have access to my email so I have to think of all kinds of lovely other things I can do to waste time...
Today is my four year wedding anniversary. :) It seems like four years is a long time!!!! hahaha! But I'm definitely in one of those paradoxical places where it feels like it's still brand new, yet I can't imagine life without him. :)
Poor DH was so bummed this morning. The Holiday stress is really getting to him, and me being so busy he was feeling neglected and burned out on the healthy eating/excercise wagon all at once. So I had to hang out a little while longer than I planned on staying home to take some GOOD CARE of him and give him lots of love and attention so he knows I still love him mucho mucho. He is the greatest!!! I can't wait to go home......
I still have 2.5hours. UGHHHHHHHH.

Well, I actually tried to enter in what I've eaten today with the Holiday party. I substituted Chicken Corn Chowder for Corn Casserole... hahahaha but I think it's probably close. And I didn't do too bad I guess! :) I'm a bit over on my fat, but still under my minimum for the day, so if I eat a little something still tonight I can't feel too bad about it.
I was searching for some running things today -- reading about SMURFETTE finishing her marathon has really been making me want to run more -- not 26.2 MILES more, but I think a little old newbie runner like myself could train up to a 10K without killing myself. :)
I searched for training schedules and found a few -- did the SmartCoach thing at Runner's World, also got the "BolderBoulder 10K" thing from Shape.com, and the Spark Your Way to a 10K. So far I think I like the Spark Your Way the best for starting out... it really seems to gradually build the miles like I need to. The others seem a little too hardcore for me at this point -- but GOOD!!! I'll probably incorporate some of those techniques once I really get back into running.
I want to train as though I'm eventually going to do a Triathlon -- crosstrain on the other days with bike and swimming.
I REALLY need to get a swimsuit.
I think by upping my miles I can run and getting those varied movements in my cardio it will really help me achieve my fitness goals. I'm really excited about the prospects of next year.
Even if/when I redo my Long Term Goal, I still intend to reach it within the next year, and I think I will be reaching the peak of my body's fitness next year as well. :) This is really exciting!!!
It's been really great to start feeling like my body and I get along. Like I can tell it what I want it to do, and know that it can probably handle whatever I throw at it as long as I'm doing it in a reasonable way. Before starting this journey to get my body healthy, I would have never expected to be able to run a 5K -- even as SLOWLY as I did. ;)
I actually found the results page up at the Hunstville Track Club website and my official 5K time was 40:20 I THINK, which is almost exactly a 13min mile. Which... is pretty much what I was doing on a regular basis... but still! I want more.
Even if I can't find a 10K I can go to, the training will help me be better prepare to KICK THE TRASH out of my next Turkey Trot if NOTHING ELSE. :) I do intend to run one of those suckers EVERY YEAR. :D
Saturday cannot come soon enough! :)
