The Streak has begun...

Wednesday, November 28, 2007

So today is day three of consistent Strength Training. The longest streak I've had in this area in a LONG TIME.

So the calendar is doing some good.

I think today will be the first day I'll be able to check of EVERY box -- so I need to get out the stickers. :D

OH YEAH. I'm gonna be playing that song to myself all month. Because it is.

And now I'm getting serious with myself. No more of this slacking on ST!! No more of this slacking on other personal goals!

I sat down yesterday morning and made myself a little CALENDAR.

I planned my meals for this week and I wrote down each dinner meal with a check box.

I wrote down study scriptures for 15 minutes with a checkbox.

On TueThurSat I wrote down 30min Trombone Practice with a checkbox.

Everyday this week is ST! Either UpperBody+Core with a checkbox or Lower Body with a checkbox.

Cardio with a checkbox on TueThurSat.

I wrote down alllll the specific ST excercises I'm going to do on the various days.

WOOHOO!!!! I stuck it on the fridge.

I'm going to complete each week in advance. So so far, I just have this week filled out. But I think this will help me. I'll have something TACTILE that I will see everyday without having to click on "Other Goals" on SparkPeople. :) hehhe.

I completed almost all the ST today. Somehow I forgot to do the Triceps Extensions and the Dumbell Pullovers. But I will do that when I get home.

And it's MANWICH night. :P

I was stopping by to say hi! Buy WOW! Look at you go! I might just have to take your idea! I like to use spread sheets for making lists. I could easily make a check list like you did. And it is so visual!
Way TO GO!

Sooooooo I did my first 5K this morning! :)

A lot of firsts...

First time running the distance.
First time running outside.
First time running hills.
First time running in the cold.

WOW! :D And I didn't do too bad!

I kept a consistent pace the whole time, even though I felt like a SLUG when everyone sped past me at the start. I came in at just BARELY over 40 minutes, which is just under a 13 minute mile. :) So I KEPT MY PACE!!! Even up and down hills, outside, running in the burning wind and cold...

I did NOT go slower than I usually do, and I ran longer than I ever have! WOOHOO!!!!

I am feeling very accomplished. I've now showered and I'm wearing my comfy, long-sleeved, TURKEY TROT shirt! :D hehehe.

I'm not really going to check into threads until tomorrow for the most part. :)

Ooh! Just the report I was waiting on!!! :) Now, I just want to say that you have done a FANTASTIC job - I had no idea that you'd never even run outside before! (Running outside is harder than inside on the treadmill, for sure!) So, do you feel *bitten* by the racing bug? :) Enjoy that shirt; you EARNED it! :) (((Sorry for all the smilies and exclamation points, but your post made me happy!))) Happy Thanksgiving. -Lisa

Imagine my shock when I checked my email and I had 26 new comments on my SparkPage! :)

At first I had no idea what everyone was actually congratulating me on -- Team Leader of the Month?? What's that! And then I go to the Home Page to find I'm the feature article of the day!!!

I definitely try to make the Challenge of Harry Potter as good as I can because the members are SO GREAT, but I never expected to be recognized in this way and it made me get all teary eyed reading the comments they quoted in the article. :)

I want to give a BIG THANK YOU to that WONDERFUL team, and also to all the wonderful folks who gave me comments today! It is really really really humbling and satisfying to know that I do actually help some people and that my progress can actually help inspire others is really touching.

So THANK YOU again!!! :)

Feeling surreal...

Monday, November 19, 2007

I've lost another 2lbs. You'd think I'd be used to it now that I've lost OVER 85LBS, but no. Hahahaha. It's almost like I'm even MORE surprised now when I keep losing weight. It's like -- HELLOOOOooooooo I'm not through. GOOD! :D Because I still have a way to go.

But it REALLY REALLY just feels kinda surreal that I am having such success with this whole "healthy" thing. :) hehehehe.

I was just looking at my most current short term goal, which to meet it I would have to lose 4lbs this week. I don't think that is likely, but at this point the goals are really just there as milestones to me. Because I know I'm going to make it. Even if I'm off a week or two.

You are pretty damned amazing! I'm stuck on a number on the scale, but pages and blogs like yours are very motivating for me, so keep on losing! You are so like a star today! I couldn't believe when I clicked on the feature that the leader of the week would actually be a name I knew! Congrats Dana!
