I need your help, SparkFriends!

My update is not a good one, I'm afraid. I went off birth control (EXCITING!!!) but it's been rough. My weight has gone up, I've had zits, bloating for days, it's awful. And not pregnant yet. BOO! All kinds of awful side effects and no reward. I can't wait for my hormones to regulate and for things to get back to normal.

The good news? I have a couple races on the calendar, and I did my first one of the year, which was a little odd - it was a SNOWSHOE race! :) Very fun.

So right now I'm training for a half marathon in April, and I will be part of a Marathon Relay team in May. I am not registering for anything too far out since I hope to become pregnant in the near future and not sure how that will affect my running, although I HOPE to run throughout.

I also have my gym membership back! YAY! I've only tried to go once so far, but the class was cancelled because the teacher was sick so I haven't REALLY gone to the gym yet. :P

    Exciting news!! YAY! I went off BC a few years ago (just cuz I was too old to be on it anymore) and I didn't have toooo bad side effects. My skin is actually better now than when I was on it. Weird! Anyway, wishing you luck in that dep't!

A snowshoe race sounds so freaking fun!!! NEAT!

    Going off BC sucks! I feel your pain! Hormones are responsible for so much! Hopefully yours balance out soon!

    Wow- that is exciting news! Trust me... I know all about hormone regulation issues ... it stinks!!!! But, at least you got a goal ( where mine was mere to regulate my cycle / hormones -lol)

I love that pic with the eyelashicles.... too cute :-)

Day 4 - still going!

I got a LITTLE off track last night with my food - but not in a bad way. I ate some extra pesto and croutoncracker thingies. But not crazytown.

I'm back to tracking again today, and right on track to be within range again. WOOHOO! :D

I ran today, 4 miles, and did Making the Cut day 4. I'm modifying a little bit so that I keep with it.

For example, I loathe mountain climbers with all my soul. They are just lame. So I don't do them. But I make myself do the burpees. That is my compromise. I pretty much do everything, but I'm trying to make sure I stick with it at least. I mean, I'm doing the program so I get a good top notch strength training workout in regularly, and to jump right back fully into the ST game. After this month I should be CRAVING it, just like I used to. :) So I'm not worried about cutting out a move here and there, just so long as I'm working every muscle. Jillian Michaels won't be watching me herself and yelling at me. hahahaha

    i hate squat thrusts. i can handle mountain climbers and like burpees now (without the jump part though i just go to standing usually). you are doint mtc, amee is starting body revolution and i have been using some old jillian dvd's lately. we should let her know we are her buddies again!

    LOL!! Too funny about the mountain climbers! I have found after 20 years of working out, if you hate something, there is probably something else you can do that is just as good that you won't hate so much!

But I will admit, I have not used my Jungle Gym straps in a reeeeaaaaaly long time! :D

    Your hate for mountain climbers totally cracks me up! I think burpees rock anyways, so you are getting stronger and more powerful!

I think a goood alternative to mountain climbers are plank jumps- how do you feel about those? Also, a bear crawl here and there... or even a wheelbarrow walk for the real ambitous? There are always squat jumps, 180% jumps and plyo split squats that kill your legs too - just to name a few emoticon

Day 2 Making the Cut

PROJECT GET FIT - RESTART! :)

Yes, I let myself get de-railed by my sister's wedding weekend (I didn't really eat bad at the wedding, it was all the travel and everything else that messed me up), and then Thanksgiving right after.

But I'm restarting.

It's ok. I also just started Making the Cut today.

YES. I did Making the Cut when I lost these lbs the first time, so I'm doing it again.

I'm also going to track all of my food.

I'm also making my ticker actually accurate now that I'm outside of 5, actually 10lbs, from what it said. 185 - I'm trying to re-capture and then go lower!

This morning I weighed 198, and I need to make sure I keep that 100lbs GONE.

So I'm wiping the slate and let's do this. :)

I had eggs and veggies for breakfast with hot sauce. Very nice! My motivational collage is still there in the kitchen to remind me. I've got an accountability buddy on FB and in my BBB sparkTeam and now here on my blog. I think I needed the actual weigh-in accountability public (ish) to help me stick to my guns. Project GET FIT!!!

I had a derailment with my sister's wedding this weekend, but now I'm back and yesterday was a good day.

Today will be another good day, and so on.

Thanksgiving will be a free day. I will try to keep portions in mind so I can try everything without being ridonkulous though.

I did walking lunges in the airport last week. So I didn't hit my 2 FULL BODY ST days a week, but I DID get 2 days of ST and my legs certainly felt the lunges - hello glutes!

Joining the 100 pushup challenge with some friends on FB, I think that will help a lot. I'm going to be a little behind because I didn't actually start yesterday, but I will get on track!

    ooh ooh ooh! I'm doing 100 push ups challenge too! Im on week 3 and I was doing them from my toes but I'm also doing body rock, and now it is all too much so I dropped to my knees yesterday, major sad face!

    I always use airports to workout too :-) I was going to do Yoga one time, but my son stopped me-LOL.

A wedding is one of those special occassions where life is more important- good for you for getting back on track and doing the best you can. As for Thanksgiving, I plan the same type of strategy, a little bit of everything!

    Wow- brave soul doing lunges in the airport. But then again, I've seen much weirder.

I think its important to enjoy Thanksgiving in all ways. For me personally, that means trying EVERYTHING... just in little bits. And that also means not gorging myself so that I'm uncomfortable later. And lastly it means that I am proud of my decisions. I can't enjoy the holiday if I regret it the next day. Focus on the important things like family, friends, and company, and you'll be fine!
