So one week from today I should be setting a new half marathon PR in Montreal. I'm soooooo excited but... I'm also nervous.

This was a heavy week for me - it wasn't my biggest mileage week YET. It was going to be, but I got a stomach bug type thing mid week and missed a run and had to cut another one short. But I got in about 43 and I might... might...still go out for a short recovery run today.

I think I'm not going to... my body feels tired and I'd just be doing it for the numbers really, and that seems dumb. I got in my 10+ (closer to 11) miler on Friday and 20 on Saturday.

WOW! First 20 of the cycle and it felt strong. Soooo happy.

It was amazing because I saw the AVETT BROTHERS doing their sound check in the middle of mile 18. I got to run up. Listen for a moment - then in a pause yell I LOVE YOU!!!!

Seth Avett said into the mic, "We love you, too!" I was thrilled to death, blew two handed kisses as I ran off to finish my run.

Ugh. I love them. Seen them 3 times live, couldn't go to this- it was a bit expensive for really mainly just wanting to see THEM alone since it was a festival. But that experience was PRICELESS. :)

So glad I got over whatever was wrong with my stomach to finish the week strong and still over 40mpw.

Now it's a mini-taper before Montreal RnR and then after that another big week, although I might need to cut it back a bit... we'll see how fast I bounce back after a strong half marathon effort. I'm thinking FAST. I don't remember being too overly sore after any of my last half marathons except the super hilly ones. Even after my last half PR, I was ok.... But we'll see.

The most important thing is staying injury free. Good training is a bonus.

So I fell off the face of the SparkPeople planet. Ooops....

Thanks to MBSHAZZER for calling me back!

So my food has been kinda all over the place. No big surprise there...

My running has been ROCKING - I had a new weekly mileage PR the week before last with 45.5 miles.

Last week was supposed to be a cutback week, ended up being WAY more cutback than I intended cause I had some scary heavyheadedness and then the next day lightheadedness. On those days I did about 1 mile run (heavy head day - stopped at 1.2, sat and waited, and then walked back), and then I did an 8 miler the next day thinking I was cured, but then got super lightheaded several times while getting dressed after my shower. I had to sit down like 5 times.

So I didn't run my 12 miler on Sunday and opted to rest, did a careful 5 on monday and was fine, 10 yesterday, and 4 today and apparently I'm good. *PHWEW* But that was panic inducing. Today I've got to get a move on, I need to shower, hit the music store, and then go to a gig w/ a Swing Band. :)

Hopefully you're recover from headaches, if not, you may really want to watch what you eat my friend, your body is screeming for good healthy fuel (food)...

    Glad the heavy and light headed ness is gonezilla! That's no fun! And hot diggitydog! 45.5 miles in a week?!?! Dana that is fantastic, I am not worthy! Food, it is my Achilles heel, baby, but we've got to fight the sugar addiction from within and with water! Lol!

Food hasn't been crazy but it hasn't been perfectly tracked and on point either.

Room for progress!!!!

I just did my run for today, 4 miles, which means I'm on schedule to do my 8 tomorrow and 17 Saturday. WOOHOO! If I get in those runs that means I'll finally have my normal Sunday off day and be back really on schedule. I've been kinda swapping things around a lot lately and running a lot of days together between my family visiting and then the hard half marathon the following weekend, but now I think I'm getting on track with the running schedule.

I had a FANTASTIC 12 miler yesterday that just felt amazing. Today's 4 was just there. Not great but definitely not bad. This week's total mileage will be 45 - a new all time weekly PR.

I will do some ST before I take a shower for the first time in ages.

To be clear, ST for the first time in ages, I shower quite regularly. ;)

But seriously, while my running has been goinggoinggoing my food and my ST has been a thing where I keep saying I need to do it and keep not doing it. I just need to rebuild those habits because I used to be so on point with both of those things so that I didn't even think about it. I just did it. I want that back! And I will work to get it.

    I had to laugh at the showering comment. So glad you left that in there for our amusement!

Meanwhile, let me say that your running schedule is quite impressive. I am glad you are able to get it into a routine that you are happy doing. You have inspired me to spend some time developing a routine of exercise (NOT running) that will let me track my progress. You inspire me, as I am sure you inspire many others.

    You have definitely been running really strong Dana! So happy for you :-)

Maybe attach a little reward to each ST session- eg If I do ST for 30 min, I get to take a bubble bath after for 30 min... or do daily 10 min mini sessions... and make them longer. Sometimes when I'm totally out of my groove, I still feel better about my ST than if I blow it off completely!

    I think you would feel a lot better too if you tracked everything and really figured out where you stand. You know you'll have a greater allowance for calories b/c of all the running. So if you aren't tracking, but still might be in your proper range- you don't even know it! And you might be making yourself feel guilty for nothing. NOW... that doesn't say anything about nutella and fluff! emoticon hehe. But seriously, you need some major energy for all those miles! WOOHOO on the new PR! That's insane! (and almost 2 marathons!!)

So... I've been awful at my challenge lately. I did pretty ok the first couple days without tracking anything, but then not.

I'VE KILLED MY RUNNING! YAY! So there's that!!! WOOHOO! :D

But I really need to get on track with food. REALLY reallyreally. I have no excuses. I am trying to understand what is the deal with me and this whole thing but I don't get it. I think I just need to get in the habit again and stop trying to figure out some big reason why I'm not doing good at staying on it.

Less thinking. More doing!

As for the eating... I feel the same way about doing rather than understanding- to some degree. It's good to find the triggers, but not to be stuck analyzing and essentially using that as an excuse!

D37 - Fridge stocked!

So yesterday I was supposed to (well, not really, I switched my whole schedule around but after switching I was going to) run a 16 miler. I instead dilly dallied until it was really too late and hot for all that and I had errands to do so I ran 4 and did my errands.

Good news? The fridge is stocked. I weighed myself yesterday and I haven't gained weight, I'm about the same. Still. But hey, not gaining is a blessing honestly with how I've been eating lately.

Anyway, I MUST run at LEAST 11 today, 16 is better for weekend sanity. I will report back when done!
