Yeah yeah yeah, I didn't blog yesterday. I was going to do it but then we lost power, so I'm not counting that against my streak - I'm just not counting it either. This is day 2! Not one or three. :)
Yesterday I stayed within ranges. HURRAH! I didn't on Monday. :( But, I did go grocery shopping Monday and now I have plenty of good fruits and veggies to keep me on track!
Ran 9+ miles this morning, woohoo! And it felt good! YAY!
Well that's all I got for now, just wanted to explain yesterday and keep the streak going. Today more laundry and also vacuumed and other little chores.... gotta get everything rolling and back in order...
AND! Tonight! Brass band rehearsal!

The blog streak was REALLY helping me, so now that I'm back from girls camp and had a day to recover, I'm bringing it back.
Young Women's camp was soooooooo wonderful... but it was also stressful and I really just had to eat what food was provided, and I also just went with the flow on some camp treats.
One of the other leaders made fresh homemade donuts for the girls AT CAMP. How often do you have the chance to indulge in something like that? For ME... that would be NEVER. So I partook of those. Also smores. It's camping. So yes. Smores.
I tried to eat healthy with what food was provided at the meals, though - they did a decent job of trying to provide good food, too.
I also ran all but one day of camp, and although the mileage was half of what I wanted total for last week, considering I was recovering from a realllly tough half marathon, and the runs at camp were very challenging (hello, it's the country in Vermont, meaning hillshillshills..).
So I was ready to run this morning, come downstairs and find a puddle of dog pee that has soaked into the bottom of my sleeping bag roll. :( WAhhh. So I was cleaning and I'm still working on laundering that beast. I'm going to train Roscoe to ring a bell for us to let him out because right now he just goes silently to the door... which is fine when we're in the room, but at night we have to notice him leaving the bed and apparently we didn't notice last night. I think we're gonna get a gate for the bedroom door, and I'll put the bells there at night, and when we're home I'll put em on the back door.
So anyway, I think I'm gonna switch a couple of my mileage days - today was going to be 5, but since I didn't get out in the morning, I'll look for a quick 3 later on.
Some ST and laundry will be the main order of the day.
Also I believe I've diagnosed some pain I've been having intermittently in the ball of my foot: metatarsalgia. Yeah that is really just a word describing pain in the metatarsals. hahahaha. But it seems to describe it pretty well and I don't believe I have a stress fracture and it only hurts sometimes while running so I'm still going to try to train through it just like I did with the PF.

My blog streak is about to come to an end - I'm going to Young Women's Camp!
I'm nervous... food will be provided, and I'm not sure when I can get away to run. EEK! I'm just going to try to eat smart.
Weight is up this morning, but I expected that. So sore. sooo sore. :)
That's all for now. Today is a rest day, just house cleaning and preparing for camp.

So, my last RR I was riding high off a near PR on a hilly course at Lake Placid. Don't get me wrong, that course is tough, it has a finishing hill that is a kick in the balls. But this course... this course showed me what hills can be. HAHA.
Short story: 2:36:xx - close to my May half on an easier course, pretty happy overall
I'll just post some pictures and some splits and let them do the talking for me. Let me just say this course is KILLER.
My elevation chart from my Garmin. Wow. It doesn't even do it justice... but yes you can see what I was dealing with... :)
My goal was to try to hit goal HMP on the flattish parts (pretty much nonexistent actually...), and to just work on slow and steady up the hills and working the downhills and let the pace fall where it may.
Mile 1: 11:04 - Pretty much goal HMP - everything's nice and shiny right now...
Mile 2: 13:12 - first hill. Didn't walk. Super steep, just kept going... ouch. Everyone around me is walking and I'm wondering if I'm being a moron... but I figure I'm not CHARGING the hill, just not walking. I told myself if I start running slower than I can walk, then I can start walking, but until then jus slow and steady.
Mile 3: 10:18 - wooooooo downhill!
Mile 4: 10:15 - still rollin down!
Approaching the 2nd of the covered bridges. :) As you can see, we're on dirt road by this point.
Mile 5: 11:28 - flattest part of the course, but some slight rollers
Mile 6: 13:17
Mile 7: 13:20
Mile 8: 13:09
LONG CLIMB OF DOOM!
I knew from looking at the map that once I hit mile nine, the worst uphills were over, so I just said to myself, keep pushing through mile nine and enjoy the following downhill!
Mile 9: 12:31
Mile 10: 11:45 - HALLELUJAH!
Totally barefoot guy - if this is you, you rock. If not, salute to anonymous barefoot guy.
Mile 11: 11:18
Mile 12: 10:50 (rollin straight downhill!)
At this point, I know that when we pass through the first of the covered bridges again, we have less than a mile left - after the bridge, I'll have one last uphill to face before the finish line.
Mile 13: 12:22
Final .15: 12:13 - I forgot to turn off Mr. G right away so not really sure honestly, but I didn't have much of a kick, that's for sure! :) I just tried to run tall for the finish line photo!
Awesome local cider, sooo good - and a cider donut! YUM!!! I also had part of a bagel with some Vermont Peanut Butter and a little piece of Cabot Cheese... VERMONT finish line food. So awesome.
Shirt is an awesome women's specific V-Neck tech shirt, soft and beautiful. The back only has one logo for Sugarbush, too. So it's just lovely! I had to get a Large because that was the smallest size left, but considering that the size that fits me is often too short, I wasn't too disappointed. I'll definitely still use it. I also love the medal!
If I can convince myself to suffer the torture, I would run this race again... the organization, support, scenery, swag, and all were fantastic.

So thinking of doing a little crafting with my running clothes today... I've been dieing for a longer looser kind of singlet thing. So we'll see.
Plus I weighed myself this morning knowing that tomorrow I'm racing and probably splurging, and that even if not my weight would probably fluctuate from the effort and also carbloading today....
187.5! :) I started at 189, my goal is set for losing 1.5lbs a week so I am directly on track! WOOHOO!!!!
Just wanted to check in to say that. In range again yesterday, the new range is going well. Race tomorrow.
