Mindfulness Helping?

I think being more mindful is helping, even though I'm not perfect yet.

I didn't track my food yesterday, but I made an effort to eat good for me things and not to go overboard.

On Saturday I saw a new lower number on the scale and thought it might be a fluke, but today I saw an even lower number!


So it seems that Shark Week clearing out is revealing some of the weight loss that has been hiding behind bloating and other nonsense. So I will use this as a motivation to press forward and continue on a better path. Starting with TRACKING TODAY! :)

Running is going very well, I had a mishap which rattled my LR this weekend, but I still got one in. It was shorter than I wanted, but 10 miles is still an acceptable LR for me, and I have a race this weekend, anyway. Maybe running 15 the weekend before wouldn't have been a great idea anyway. I'm proud of myself for still running 2x on the weekend and still getting in a double digit LR.

I also got on my bike for the first time since buying it. YAY! AND I managed my first ever turns. I'm still horribly gunshy about the whole thing and it was not pretty, but I think I'm starting to get the hang of it. I just need a few more practice sessions I think and then I will be ready to head out on the bike path by our house.

Productive Day!

Yesterday I did NOT do any exercise, just a brief walk with Roscoe (super short - just for him to get his business done), but I did clean the whole house pretty much. The house looks great now, feels great to be in. :) YAY!

There are only a couple things to do housekeeping wise that I want to accomplish today - check the shower drain! And maybe tidy the closet. Also clean my camelbak so it's ready for my LR tomorrow!

Tcal - 1598
Carbs 241, Protein 62, Fat 62 (less protein, more carbs and fat)
Sugar - 3 ice pops (17 cal each, but pure refined sugar)
Water - ???? What's wrong with me tracking this???? hhahaa

Rest day!

Super productive and happy with my accomplishments for the day, first total rest day from exercise since the weekend before last, so that is pretty great! :)

193 - feeling kinda bloated and just not myself this morning really, TOM is still in swing...

RUN! Do some ST since I "skipped" it yesterday.

    Yeah, call the housework "cross-training", and mark the day up as perfect! Seriously, cleaning up the house is not only more strenuous than sitting in front of the T.V., but it is great motivation. I have always gotten enjoyment out of cleaning (well, once it is DONE, at least!) ;-)

Last night I "went with the flow" foodwise, which meant I ate cheesecake at a church activity and I came home and ate a slice of pizza and some "pizza bones" for dinner.

But I did my best to track it! And I think I was under 2000 still, so that's pretty good.

Weight this morning: 192.5

And voila, after my 7 mile run this morning - SHARK WEEK BEGINS!!!

So blurgedyblurgh.

    Well, good for you staying on your calorie range, but you know Pizza and Cheesecake are not your best friends, right?

Besides the weight, we have to also be healthy...

Yes, I too want to know what "pizza bones" are. I agree, sounds like left over crusts! LOL

My "TOM" came this week too... It's been a bit of a struggle, but we can handle it, right?

So Sunday I did NOT go hogwild.

I ate some food before we went out to dinner. (orange, PB + pretzel sticks)

That was kind of my lunch.

Then dinner was shared appetizer, half of my ordered meal (jerk chicken w/ rice and beans so nothing crazy there either) and a shared small dessert (small avocado milkshake, so also based on the listed ingredients I honestly think that milkshake was full of good for you things! Just surely high in healthy fats).

Yesterday I weighed at 191.

?!? OK I'll take it scale!

Then we went out for breakfast yesterday (I got granola+yogurt+fruit and had a small piece of banana bread w/ maple nut cream cheese), lunch was leftovers from Sundays dinner, then I had some snacky things, popcorn+PB, an orange, whatever.

And then dinner I was feeling pretty full, I didn't really eat a proper dinner but we shared some of what we received in our CSA - some local rustic bread with goat cheese spread topped w/ berry preserves. So good.

I didn't track anything yesterday at all.

This morning's weight - 193.

Last week I ran 39 miles! And felt GREAT! I need to keep up that kind of mileage.

I know what worked for me - getting up and logging that 7 miler in the morning and another run in the morning without Roscoe. AND running both days on the weekend. This needs to be my pattern for reaching my running goals.

So far this week - I did 2 miles yesterday - was going for 4 but got called by the friend to meet for breakfast, so I cut it short (I knew that might happen so not miffed at all or anything).

Today it is thunderstorming - thunder and lightning so I am staying inside and keeping an anxious puppy company. I'm not sure if I will get to run today or not. I'm hoping to get something in with Roscoe at least, then tomorrow get in the midlength run of 8. If I can do that, I think I can manage to keep my week on track.

Also today is ST day! So I need to remember to at least do that! :)

Also last week I did ST on Tue/Th and I did short runs with Roscoe both days, so that worked pretty well...

    39 miles is FANTASTIC!!!! WHOOOOO!

I found that once I added in running on BOTH weekend days, it was so much easier to get the mileage up there.

Also, I do think it's good to cycle calories - keeps the body guessing and keeps you from getting bored.

Your CSA sounds really good! YUM!

So I did have kind of a splurgey dinner also - we ate out and I got a pesto tortellini and split a grilled portabella (w/ cheese) and had a couple bites of spumoni... and some candy.

But really and truly, it wasn't as bad as my pre-tracking focus time.

But I didn't track, so I'm off format. I did weigh this morning

193 - for a dinner out the night before, not bad at all! I would expect an uptick even if just from sodium.

Haven't eaten much today yet, a marathon bar (210 cal) and an orange (80ish?) and a little bit of candy (grapefruit slices, do you guys know those?) but that's about it. Going to go out to eat w/ my marathoner pal, but will "not go hogwild" again. That is my goal. :) To be reasonable and mindful!
