So I did a short run this morning, and so far so good on the foot front. I'm hangin in there!
Tonight will either be Zumba or the Gym for some weights.
I did that RockIt Ballet class last night which was supposed to be toning, and I was feeling the burn at the time for some stuff, but I'm not really feeling it today. I dunno if I should avoid weights today or not. I might go back to Dance Trance to do a Dance Trance class today instead of the RockIt Ballet if no Zumba. We will see.
The RockIt Ballet class was ... ok. There were things I liked, but some stuff I hated so it all kinda averaged out to - meh. haha. I'm hoping if I go back to other classes she may do different songs or I could try the class on a Thursday sometime which has a different teacher. Also on Wednesday there's a RockIt TNT class - the lady at the desk said it's similar but focuses more on butt and abs.
Anyway - this morning! Run! I got angry as I went to go run because I saw on the door a slip from them trying to deliver my Team Marathon Kit yesterday and no one answered the door!!! There was at least one person home all day yesterday, and most of the day there were 3 adults there. And not one of them heard the door? I got so mad! HAHA. I'm still kinda ticked about it but I'm kind of over it, too. Hopefully it will get signed for today.
So anyway, the plan for today was to run 3 miles, but I didn't remember the length of the route I planned properly and I decided that was ok, it could be 2+ instead, since I'm adding a day this week I don't want to overdo it on the total weekly mileage compared to last week. I added a couple of "strides" toward the end to help me not push too hard during the rest of the way back because I was feeling like just cranking it but my body was actually telling me not too - it was the emotions and whatnot wanting to just push!
Plus since it was only 2 miles, I tend to want to run faster when it's a short one. Anyway - did about 12:30 avg on the way out and under 12 on the way back - 11:50 something average pace, my strides got down to an 8mm, very short, but still. The potential is there I guess. :)

All in all - I had a really great weekend. :) It was interrupted by a brief breakdown.
So you know all this time and money spent on my feet? Trying to alleviate my plantar fasciitis and so that my heel spur doesn't hurt?
Well last week after stopping the Naproxen Sodium I gradually started to get a pain in the balls of my feet. I took off running aThu+Fri planning to run Saturday morning, but when I woke up they were hurting and I started to get freaked out about it - I googled and whatnot and decided it sounded like this one thing and it was inflammation. So I decided to resume Naproxen Sodium and wait that day out to see if it got better.
But while making that rational decision, I also had a very emotional and irrational response to the whole thing. My poor hubby! I overreacted about something else poor thing and then we got to talking about it and I got to vent. It's just very frustrating to have something so important to you and be working so hard to do it right and have these kinds of setbacks. Anyway - I finally got over myself and went to the Cigar Box Guitar Festival. :)
I brought my cigar box guitar and played my little heart out in the "Learn to Play" session. There were people taking pictures there but I tried to google some up without success. Here's one I took from my spot as a student - more cigar box guitar students to my left and people crowded around, too - and one guy to my right that you can't see. :)
We had some rockin "You Are My Sunshine" and "Amazing Grace" going on, also played some "Feelin Groovy" and some nice 12 Bar Blues repeats. :) It was realllly fun - it took me back to my beginning guitar class at FSU.
Then later that day, we headed out to use a Living Social deal we got for the Arena Football game. SOOOO fun. I'm so sad that our first game was their last home game of the season. DH preferred the local semi pro to the arena - I have to admit, semi-pro is REAL football, this was like watching a really cool life size video game or something what with how tiny the field is. But... we bought our first VUVUZELA! SO STOKED! We had a blast playing it - and then when we were leaving the stadium they had some leftover kids jerseys (it was kids free jersey night) so I got one of the Youth XL size WOOT. :D Yay for wearing kids clothes! hahaha.
DH will be rockin the vuvuzela at future races of mine. :) hehe.
Oh and that morning, before the breakdown - I also scored some tubing and a TON of tape for hoop making from the girl who taught me to hoop! They are working to clean out their garage and she isn't making hoops right now, didn't want her tape to get nasty and also wanted to clear up space from the tubing so I scored at deep discount a bunnnch of tape and a little tubing and connectors as well. :)
Anyway - then Sunday I got up and headed out for a run in one of my new singlets from the expo for that 10K - this is the Saucony one. I loooove the pattern on it and the color and it is MEGA lightweight.

It felt soooo good at first - then got hot - but my feet were ok. (I took my dose of Naproxen POST run, in case you were wondering - I don't run on painkillers if I can avoid it.) At the end of the trail I was turning after this older gentleman was turning on his bike but unfortunately he took a bad spill off the side of the path and hit some gravel. I stuck around to make sure he was ok (bleeding elbow, bent glasses, but mobile and self assessed as being well!), and then headed back the way I came.
Then I heard someone coming up behind me close and slowing to run beside me - I turn, it's a man I don't know. I say - hello! and he holds out his hand to shake my hand, so I do, and then he gives me a thumbs up and moves on. I thought - was that about that other guy? But then he high fived a runner coming toward us so maybe he was just having a happy running day and wanted to interact with everyone else running??? Either way, it was funny and it kind of gave me a nice boost. HAHA.
I really enjoyed my nuun natural sweetener tablets - I can't remember what they're called, but they're electrolyte tabs made by nuun, but with Stevia sweetener instead of sucralose. Tangerine Ginger flavor. mmmm.
Then it was to church! It was good. Nuff said.
Then I headed to a gospel music rehearsal - we worked on stuff that we'll be playing for one of the group members' wedding in July. It was fun. :)
That night I made a hoop and got to hang out a lot more with the DH YAY! I also made a really pretty hoop for a man at work. He picked the colors - for a super awesome Auburn hoop:
Not an Auburn Fan, but I gotta love this hoop - it's too pretty!
Tonight I'm planning to try my Living Social deal finally for this RockIt Ballet Class! I'm stoked! :) Also my feet feel good.

This week has been strange...
First the holiday with the race.
Then Tuesday I only worked a half day due to havnig a Dr. Appointment that afternoon w/ the Sportsmed -
The appointment went well! The Dr was impressed with my good attention to her recommendations and with the fact that I'm tracking the mileage on my superfeet on dailymile. :D hahaha. She also said I can stop taking the doses of Naproxen Sodium I was doing regularly and just take as needed - but of course to continue with the stretching, etc.
After the Dr's I headed to the gym to do some - STRENGTH TRAINING! I am still sore today from this. OW. I really need to make this mandatory for myself because being this sore is ridiculous.
Upper body is not so sore, but my legs are killing me!
2 sets of 1 set per leg lunges w/ 2x20lb dumbbells
2 sets of stiff legged deadlifts w/ 2x20lb dumbbells (this should have been heavier but I was being lazy and didn't want to change out weights)
2 sets of tri presses w/ the split rope attachment at cable station - 40lb? plate?
2 sets of wide grip lat pulldowns at 50lb
2 sets of underhand pulldowns at 50lb and 60lb respectively
Some sets of crunches on a stability ball - one with body weight only, then two w/ a pair of superlight (4kg) kettlebells, and doing a shoulder press at the top of each one.
2 sets of chest presses from stability ball w/ same kbs.
And that's it. Piece of cake - of course now I still am walking funny....
Wednesday I got up early and did a run to celebrate National Running Day - 3.4 miles nice and easy. Then hooping at lunch and last night I had my webinar for Team Marathon - so exciting! :) I haven't received my box with the kit and all yet but there will be pictures when that happens.
I'm registered now for two races -
Run Through the Roses 10K - my first 10K! It was scheduled for right after the tornadoes, then rescheduled for 6/18 (which is when I registered), and then rescheduled again for 9/10 (which will also work... I think.)
Latin Music Miami Beach Half Marathon -- WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOO! :D My first Rock N Roll Sponsored race, part of my obligations for Team Marathon - I am SO STOKED about this race! :D 12/11.

9/4 - Tupelo 14.2
11/12 - Soldier Half Marathon
So happy to be running and racing again!!! Today is Zumba, then I WILL do some ST at home or at the gym. It is GOING to happen. Gotta keep this up!
