Refill of Positivity, Please!

Tuesday, August 28, 2007

The positivity is BACK! :) Thank you to those of you who left comments on my blog from yesterday.

Today was exactly what I needed to regain perspective on the weightloss journey -- the OBLIGATORY DR'S VISIT POST!!!

Yes, this is the 3rd of these thus far in my time with SparkPeople. I again got to go to the Dr. and wow them with my AMAZING weight loss. ;) harhar. But seriously, that's how I feel when I go there.

The nurse is always like, WOW! What are you doing? When they see the numbers. They don't KNOW me, it's always someone different (Health Department and all), but still. They know by their little chart that I've been losing about 20-25lbs every 3 months. :D hehehe

Not to mention that her scale was totally malfunctioning and weighed me in at 213 at first. WOOHOO!!!! :D hahahahaha I was like, yeah that's not right. So we recalibrated and finally I weighed in at 224, which I still believe was a little low due to me weighin at 226 at home this morning, but HEY! I'll TAKE IT! I won't count it officially obviously, but I definitely let her write 224 on my chart. :D WOOT!

So anyway. It's REALLY REALLY easy to lose the whole picture until you kind of see it all spread out in front of you like that. And having people in REAL LIFE being impressed with you, that you DON'T EVEN KNOW. You know? That's kind of cool.

But anyway. We had breakfast for dinner last night.

Eggs, Hashbrowns, Bacon, Waffles. :D And all within calories!!!! I bought Simply Potatoes Hashbrowns which are... just... potatoes. So I cooked them in very little oil. Kashi brand waffles. Eggs are good! The Bacon -- not too bad! :D And a very satisfying meal.

This morning for breakfrast I did a reprise -- this time egg, bacon, mini whole wheat bagel with I Can't Believe it's Not Butter Spray and Sugar Free Rasberry Preserves. MMMMMM MMMMM!

I'm excited to try some of the recipes I planned for this week from SparkRecipes.com

Palak Paneer w/ Tofu -- An Indian dish of a Spinach and Cream based sauce made healthier with Yogurt for Cream and Tofu for the meat.

Thai Cashew Chicken -- MM!

Turkey Burritos -- Sounds weird as a title, but basically burritos made with ground turkey, fatfree refried beans, diced green chiles, cheese and baked in the oven.

I did print a recipe for an Indian Lentil dish that I may or may not make this week... also planning on Mac n Cheese with Broccoli. We still have some Pizza Crusts to make pizza with, too, at some point. Oh and I bought some Pad Thai in a box which I LOVE. Make it with Shrimp. MMMMMMmmmmmmmm. There's still one recipe I'm forgetting, but oh well. You can see it will be an exciting week, right? I love cooking. :D

The breakfast for dinner sounded so good I had to readjust my meal plan for this weekend so that I can make breakfast!! Good luck with your recipes this weekend. I wish I could make new stuff but my boys only have a few select meals they're willing to eat and freak out at the idea of anything new. I've managed to create healthier versions of most of their favorites but sometimes I'd really like to try something different. Maybe it's not the meals but my cooking they're afraid of... I was never really great at that... hmm... cooking lessons maybe? :)

So... you gonna cook for ALL of us? :):)

This one goes out to you, JAMIE529... :)

Monday, August 27, 2007

Just a little picture for ya'll. JAMIE pointed out I hadn't blogged in a while. I think I was feeling like I spammed everyone on Wednesday so I took a little break. :D hahaha

So...... today.......... I gained .5lb. YES! It's a teeny tiny amount and much less than I expected to gain, so I'm actually feeling pretty good, but it IS the first time I've gained since starting SP without it being on a foreign scale.

And I'm still alive. And I'm still going.

It's pretty rough on my ego though. I was feeling like the WEIGHT LOSS FREIGHT TRAIN (Which is actually a title that I pronounced upon my fellow gold team member, CASSIE_84 who is far more deserving)... but now it's like ALL HALT!

I'm hoping to go down some more this week and then I won't have to freak out. BUT IF I DON'T. Then I will proceed to freak out. NOT REALLY. But a little.

Today I weighed in EXACTLY on pace to meet my year end goal. I have always been ahead of pace -- even if it was only by 0.5lb. So I am feeling additional stress to lose this week more than ever before becuase if I don't, I will be behind pace for my goal for the first time ever.

Rationally, I know this is kind of silly. People stay on plateaus sometimes for ages. I know this is the reality of weightloss. But I DO NOT want it to happen to me.

SO! If I'm being realistic -- I overate last night. I actually wouldn't have done so bad if I hadn't gone back for some extra bread and peanut butter. (Was at the weekly RP session and while they provide healthy food, I tend to overdo it and I'm trying NOT to.) We usually meet on Saturdays, so I at least have another buffer day between then and the weighin, but this week no. I might have actually maintained if it weren't for that.

Also -- being realistic -- I am NOT keeping up with my plan of cardio 5 days a week. The week of the 13th-19th I didn't do extra cardio and lost 2.5 lbs. So I figured I'd keep not doing the extra cardio, and so maybe that was a mistake. If I continue to maintain, I can add those extra cardio days in - NO BIGGIE.

But I think overall, my eating is doing really well. I could stand to not stay at the low low side of my calorie range all the time -- without going over like last night.... So I'll try to make sure I'm not just not eating enough either.

Anyway -- so I have a plan. A contingency plan for another week of no scale movement. :D hehehe.

Thanks for the shout out! :p
I think you're doing WONDERFUL...and if you are on a plateau, just hang in there! If you can make it through one of those, you can make it through anything on this journey.
Best to you!

So I know this isn't going to sound rightbut I'm so glad you have bad days too! I keep screwing up and going over on my calories and I'm thinking damnit I'll never get this right! All the people who are losing weight don't seem to ever have bad days so I'm thinking it's going to be impossible to recover from my weekend. But you're doing awesome and you've been losing every week and it still happened. I don't feel like such a screw up anymore knowing that the little slip ups and half pound gains can happen to the best of us =)

Don't sweat the small gain - it could be anything - blame it on the moons gravitational forces or something! Just keep working on it ! :)

What does 120 Calories Look Like?

Wednesday, August 22, 2007

It's an interesting site. Obviously, this is without any regard to FAT or SUGAR or anything like that... but still. Sometimes it's nice to be able to just see things that way.

Although it's almost lunchtime so it's making me a bit hungry.

Also, I will try not to post another blog today... *EEK!*

Oh, that's so cool! So I'm guessing that an entire bag of cheesy puffs would be more than 120 calories...?! ;-) -Lisa

Ok, your pictures are so cute! You have awesome hair, and I wish I had even half! My thyroid funked out five years ago, and now I wear a clip-on hair piece that cost me almost 500 bucks. *sigh* I guess I should be glad that at least I have some hair left for the thing to clip on to!

in a way, this is kind of creepy

You can expect to live aproximately another 29500 more days.

I find it funny that I'm at 13 years old and 94.4 years old to die.

If I just had a man and a bestest friend, I'd be around 9 and live to be 100

haha (sheesh)
