...was KIND of a bust.
Granted -- JHUBKA84 and her hubby came... um... but that was it. *sigh* But I'm not giving up on Alabama Sparkers!!! I know our local T-Towners had some obstacles in coming, but I never heard from any of the B-hamers that were supposedly going to come. :P
I think they got scared of the heat, but it was actually really gorgeous (ok AND really HOT) outside. :) The Botanical Gardens were just BEAAUUUTIFUL. :D I had a great time, took a ton of pictures of the Lilies mostly. I have yet to upload any, though, so those will be coming later. All those that didn't come missed out.
I made the most amazing Hummus EVER. SO GOOD. And SO EASY. I will post a recipe once I tweak it a bit to see how much of the oil I can cut out, cause I'm sure I can do it with less and still have it be delicious. :) But essentially - can of chickpeas + olive oil + sesame oil + cumin + salt = AMAZING. It was whipped up in my blender/food processor on the food processer attachment. So good. And baby carrots to dip in it! JHUBKA84 brought a delicious chicken salad made by her hubby w/ chicken, apple, grapes, celery, and very little FF mayo apparently! It was really good. :) They had some thin wheat crackers and bread to go with as well.
Then we walked around and looked at the gardens, and JHUBKA84's hubby ran off and did the photobug thing. He rejoined us after a while and then soon they left and me and my hubby tackled the entire gardens pretty much to see everything we could see. They also had a delightful gift shop where we managed to purchase Christmas gifts for 5 people. YAY.
Then we were on our way home, got turned around, and saw a creamery... DUN DUN DUN!!!!
They offered this crazy low cal frozen yogurt called "Only 8" but... I was at a creamery DARNIT. The first time in ages I've been to an actual ice cream shop and I was going to try out a newfangled froyo that only came in chocolate or vanilla??? No. I got one of their freshly made waffle cones and Bear Claw Ice Cream -- dark chocolate covered cashews and caramel swirls in a chocolate ice cream. :) MMMMM. Hubby got a Banana Cream Pie Milkshake which I tasted and it was amazing.
So that kinda foiled my plans for the day being so uber healthy... dinner was really good at the friend's place... I was doing fine, the food was healthy and then I just went into, must eat everything mode. The hostess kept encouraging us to go back for more because she made SO MUCH FOOD, and I just kept obliging. OH and then I ate two big slices of carrot cake.
The next day I was like....... what is wrrooonnnggg with me! UGH. I ate very very well the next day.
But get this -- I've been holding at around 170 for a while now. Day after the Rally+food insanity and Thursday's nonsense and all that???? 177.
I was flabbergasted.
Um but today after yesterday's good eating... 171. :P Whatever body. Get it together.
I've been not weighing myself for a while since before last TOM, but I got weighed in at the study, so it's not like I've been completely oblivious, but I definitely still haven't been losing like my plan was before. Now it's back to being friends with my home scale to find some motivation in numbers again.
sPEAKING OF WHICH.
:D I GOT MY HRM BACK TODAY!!!! YAY!!!!!!! I was all mopey this morning waiting for a knock on the door to get it, I didn't do ANYTHING because I was hoping it'd show up. Oh turns out while they recommended for us to mail it FedEx or UPS, they used the USPS. HAHAHA. :P It was in my mailbox though on my way to work so I was like SWEET. It's back on my wrist and all is well with the world.
So -- this week -- tomorrow morning - Rowing then a run. Wednesday - Run+Full Body ST. Thursday, Rowing + Run. Friday - play day! :D hahahaa. Maybe rowing? Maybe full body ST? Saturday+Sunday - running. Saturday full body ST if not completed on Friday.
OH. And I'm gonna take the mileage down this week for the most part and maybe take an extra running off day or two just because I've had a week off of running COMPLETELY and I don't want to wack myself out by jumping right in at 4-5 mile runs or something.
I'm really still a bit surprised at how big a difference it made in my motivation not to have my HRM. I guess I'm really addicted. I'm sooooooo happy to have it back. :)
And I'm stoked about this week in general -- I get to row BARE MINIMUM twice, I only work Mon-Thur AND it's jeans all week in honor of the holiday. :)
Yesterday was a great re-charger day for me in general, and I'm glad that I don't have to go straight from ONE regarcher day into a madhouse week.
LASHERTHECAT's comment reminded me -- there was also GARLIC and LIME JUICE in my hummus!!! :)
