So... maybe not the most healthful food weekend, but other than that my weekend was perfect.
It had the most amazing balance of relaxation, productivity, and FUN. :)
The bad food was -- checkerburger+small fries Saturday night post concert, and Sunday night we went out to a burger place. I kept it as healthy as I could w/ a black bean burger no mayo and grilled veggies, but I also had some of other people's fries and fried pickles... So, eh. Oh and lots of licorice.
I didn't eat until uncomfortable though. Just a little more full than usual, but not horrible. :)
But seriously -- the Avett Brothers are amazing and put on an amazing show.
Their music is kinda bluegrassy but they ROCK OUT. Some have called it punk played with bluegrass instruments. :) Great musicians -- maybe not the like, amazing fast picking you might expect from a traditional bluegrass player, but their music is DIFFERENT than that. The musicality comes from the WAY they play, not the level of skill (although they are talented in that arena as well). I got a T-Shirt signed by their cellist and one Avett. They were so nice, too! The one Avett that came out (Scott Avett, btw) was asked by some obviously high school girls if he would sign their shirts. They were so adorable. He tried to do it through the fence but his hand wouldn't fit right (he tried really hard to mash his hand through the fence, too!). The security guy had them come over the the gate in the fence and he opened it just large enough for them to stand in and face their backs toward him. Anyway -- while he was signing, another guy standing there asked him does it ever get old?? and he was like, Never! And don't ever take it for granted either. There are a LOT WORSE things I could be doing right now. :) And he genuinely seemed to be enjoying himself. Oh also someone said, I love you, and he was like, I love you, too! Then my hubby said, "I think you're nice." And he cracked up. :)
The cellist (who was amazing -- he was somehow playing while standing and wedging his cello I don't really get it, but he was rocking out the whole time, singing along to every song and everything) signed my shirt and it was handed to him by a guy who was closer to the fence. When he handed it back over I was like YAY! And got it back and he saw me and that it was MY shirt, so he reached his hand over so I could grab his hand and then he gave my hubby a high five.
Look up the video Murder In the City to get a glimpse of the brothers and them singing a touching mellow song -- and then see if you can find "Nothing Short of Thankful" which is an uptempo number that I adore! :)
As far as workouts -- I got to Pilates class as mentioned on Saturday, and then yesterday I did a 2miler which included the MASSIVE hill near my place which I have not run in ages so that kicked my butt -- and also I did some upper body ST.
I also got a lot done as far as preparing for my trip -- the shopping completed (including grocery shopping), did laundry, packed MOST of my bag since the clothes I will be bringing don't really overlap with my work wardrobe. I'll just have to add the little things on Wednesday evening, and workout stuff.
So tonight I plan to head to the Let's Dance class again and do some lower body ST at the minimum. Tomorrow is a run -- abs? And Wednesday will likely be an off day for cardio but I'll try to get some upper body ST in that evening.
Thursday in SD I intend to do a short run. :) Then there is the SP run before the convention on Saturday, and the 8K on Sunday, and I'll try to run on Tuesday before I leave as well. I'll be bringing my resistance bands and intend to get in my ST with them and body weight exercises. WOOT. :)

Not really feeling a long blog but wanted to share:
1. CONCERT = AMAZING. If you haven't checked out the Avett Brothers, do it NOW.
2. Sports bra = FOUND! Amazingly at the last place I checked (WalMart) I found a Danskin High Impacts Sports Bra w/ a thin foam layer and moisture wicking fabric as well as a nice open back w/ mesh. It was $9 and it makes me look like I have boobs AND my boobs move NOT AT ALL. I was very impressed.
3. Pilates - at the gym.
4. Oh also got a Danskin shirt at WalMart which is really cute and my DH was like, mind boggled at how thin I looked in it. I'm like yeah, cause it REALLY fits me. :P I wear a lot of shirts that are cut with a "swing" type cut, kind of voluminous... just because I'm a big fan. I have a few shirts that fit me that are cut close to the body, but a lot of my other stuff is a size too big. So anyway, psyched about that. ($7 btw - may try to get more later)

Last night was very nice -- a nice relaxed evening w/ hubby at home. I got all domestic and made breakfast for dinner -- cottage cheese pancakes!!! Those things ROCK! I had two this morning if you're interested in checking out the nutritional stats. So high in protein and filling and delicious!
Last night I had mine some w/ apple butter and some w/ pear honey, and we had biscuits too. :) hehe. With strawberry jam. Yeah we were REALLY ROCKIN the crawfish boil finds from last Saturday.
I didn't actually get a ton of sleep last night, but this morning I didn't feel overtired either! WOOHOO! I popped up at 8AM, got ready to go, and headed to the gym. I got in an ALMOST 3miler, reallly made sure to pull myself back the whole way -- on an extended uphill section my HR got to 171 at the highest. That is not too shabby for me!!! Usually it can get a lot higher when running. The resulting time was 12min miles, but I'm pretty happy with that.
Then I headed inside, changed shoes, and rocked some ST. I turned up the dial on my weights since I was not doing a million sets of crazy compound moves and I think I could even go higher on some things -- will have to try next time. But I was usually doing chest presses on the stability ball w/ 10lb weights during MTC, and today I did decline chest presses w/ 15lb weights. I think I could possibly go up a couple lbs on that, but the next level at the gym is 20lbs, so I think I'll work w/ the 15 for a while first. But that's a 5lb jump!!!! So I'm gonna try to REALLY push myself in that department as I press forward with my strength training in the next phase of things.
Still got in a great calorie burn, too -- 713 cal in just over an hour.
So...... my hubby called to let me know we got tickets to go to see the AVETT BROTHERS tomorrow night!!!!!!!!!!!! :D WHEEEEE!!! I'm so excited! That will be VERY fun. You should all go to YouTube and look up their video for "Murder in the City" and check them out. Very folksy -- two brothers singing w/ guitars. They also have a bass player and one of the brothers plays banjo sometimes and anyway, I'm sure they'll be amazing live and we both really wanted to go but it was kind of expensive... so we were deciding not to go... but I guess he changed his mind and I am more than happy to oblige. ;)
Anyway, I've got like 350 more calories to burn this weekend which will EASILY be done. I intend to do some pilates tomorrow at home (unless my plans to visit the temple fall through then I will go to the class), and I have a run scheduled for Sunday and plan to do some ST at home as well, so woot. I also want to get to look for a sports bra this weekend. Then it's 3 days of work and then I'm GONE!!!!!! :D

Yeah, so um... my plans fell through again today. But this time it was all my choosing, so I'm much more happy about it.
Well -- I accidentally left my running shoes in my locker at the gym so.... I decided I should take another off day today. It's been quite a while since I had two off days in a row so I figured why not.
So.... I watched America's Next Top Model, the part of Heroes I missed on Monday when I fell asleep out of exhaustion, and Castle, which I missed in it's entirety. :) I showered AT HOME (yeah, it doesn't happen often because I'm always at the gym). It was a nice relaxed morning.
SO! My revamped plan is to do the run and ST (at the gym) tomorrow, maybe off day on Saturday because I will be busy for a good chunk of the day, and then run again on Sunday and probably some ST at home before my band concert. I should be able to burn the amount of calories I need, and if not I can always throw in a workout video. No worries. The only thing that kind of sucks is that I have stuff planned this weekend and then it's work and then I'm GONE! I'm gonna need to try to carve out some good my and hubby time this weekend.
Ok sooo I just found out I'm working till only 8PM tonight instead of 10PM! :D WOOHOO!
