The Stable Zone

So my teammate, Steph, has challenged us Ninjas to think about the word stability. After reading Steph's and Freelady blog I have given it some thought.

I definitely have a 'stable zone'. It is a beautiful place. It is when I am eating healthy, feeling strong, focused and motivated. I'm just in the zone. Not tempted, not even craving.

Once in a while I'm out of it - like now! TOM is the main time, sneaks up when I'm not paying attention, gets me a little moody and throws off that equilibrium. Then if I'm tired on top of it I make mistakes in my eating like last night - ugh!

How to deal and find that stability again? I believe planning to be the key. Plan activities, meals and especially a nap at that TOM. Surround myself with safe food, knowing this too shall pass. What will it pass into.......

Shot For the Stars!

I actually reached Alpha Centauri. I must admit when we first received this challenge I didn't think I would. I had set fitness goals of no more than 250 minutes and this one meant more than 330 minutes.

So I am here and feeling tired but satisfied. My incredible Ninja teammates who made it here and almost back inspired me. The Ninjas ahead and behind me were motivating. It is interesting how so many of us share the same challenges and then can find motivation in such different things.

This round of BLC I am down I believe 6 lbs. I was hoping for more by now but I do see a new lifestyle kicking in. My destructive ways are going away and my negative self talk is less. It has been a great chance for me to focus on me and change for me. I may not be as far as I hoped, but I know I am losing it the right way and it will never be found again!

Now to go check out the next MW and weekend challenges!

    As others have posted to me, slow and steady... The weight is more likely to remain lost if we take it off at a reasonable pace. You are on FIRE! and do contribute so much in terms of your support, encouragement, competitiveness and positive attitude which comes through your posts. Thanks for all you contribute. Note to my 16 year old self

So part of the BLC challenge this weekend is to write a letter to your 16 year old self. Well, one thing I know is I could of talked until I was blue in the face and I wouldn't of listened. Not because I knew it all but because of self-doubt.

To me,

When Dad says "You have the world at your finger tips" and "you can be anything you want to be" he is right. You have so many advantages, you are smart, strong, athletic, pretty and warm hearted. Don't be afraid to show people the real you. Don't worry about what they are thinking. Mom use to say "People aren't making judgements about you that you are making about yourself" she was right. They are worried about themselves. Nobody is holding you back but you. You don't NEED to have a boyfriend all the time and you are NOT fat. Concentrate on developing yourself. Challenge yourself. Stop putting yourself in a box - try new things. Somewhere inside of you you wanted to be the underdog and then prove to people you could be great. Multiply the gifts you have and give them back to God through others. He has given you so many blessings so reach into the world and make things happen, grow as His child so when life comes to meet you with a husband and children you meet them right back ready to add to their lives.

You're a good person who is cutting themselves short by needing a boyfriend and always dieting. Look outside your box, there is not a box except for the one you created. Most of all, you are loved for who you really are.

    We are frequently our own worst critics. The line "Nobody is holding you back but you" is so true for many of us. Now, with the experience and knowledge we have, we know what to do and know we can dream big. There is a quote by Edward Young, "Those who build beneath the stars build too low." Let's continue to believe in ourselves and dream big! We can do it! emoticon

Last Day of the SPRING Challenge...

...and a little closer to my goal as a result. These challenges are great to help me focus on and bring awareness to healthy living goals. My goals are to feel healthier when playing with my kids and to lose 1-2 pound a week - therefore 8 to 10 before the end of BLC12.

The method: 5 fruits/veggies per day, 8 glasses of water/day, exercise six days a week and actively play on the 7th.

Feeling Better Today

Feeling better than yesterday - had the blahs yesterday. I read Leslie Samsone's book today about the benefits of walking. I don't have any of her videos but maybe I'll start taking more walks. Its warmer outside now. I may be getting the Wii Fit Plus tomorrow which will diversify my workout a little more. Every little thing counts so as long as I continue to move and not dread it it is all good!

    Get over the blahs, life is good! I'm like you, I can't wait for the warmer weather and walking outdoors instead of indoor exercising. I love to take my dogs with me and walk to some music. Best of luck in all your walks.

  Sorry to hear you're not feeling well. If you enjoyed Leslie's book, see if your library has some of her DVDs. I heard about her walking DVDs, but didn't want to buy a "Pig in the poke", so checked in our local library to see if her DVDs were available and they were, so checked some out for a test run. Enjoyed the ones that I checked out enough to get some of my own. Got them on sale at Target.
