Ugh

I have shingles! Who would have guessed? I'm on anti-viral meds and praying that the symptoms ease up before my flight back to Germany next week.

    Poor you Michelle,
That stems from the chicken pox virus. Sure hope you only have a very mild case and are well enough to travel next week. Will be praying for you.
Hugs

Oh My, I hope your's aren't painful. My DH had them and the pain was awful, he said. Shingles are caused from stress, and I think the measle virus. I had them once too when I was 18 or 19, but mine were the itchy kind.

Hope you get better soon. I feel badly for you.

Just did it!

Ran the Beach Bum 5K! The sand was pretty firm, although it got chewed up by all the runners during the course of the race. Challenging for the calves, and I'm sure I'll feel it tomorrow! I finished in under 40 minutes and didn't walk at all, so I more than achieved my goal of running 3.2 12-minute miles.

One more...

Tuesday, March 17, 2009

pound gone! That's the good news. The bad news is that I think the scale I've been using is off a couple of pounds in the wrong direction. But the trend is good...

Congrats! Any loss is good...praying the trend continues for you. I agree about the digital scale--love mine! Praying things are going better with your parents. Continue to make time for yourself, spiritually and physically. It's beneficial for you AND your parents that you take care of yourself.
Blessings,
Karen

Down a pound!

Tuesday, March 10, 2009

Yay! one of those ten gained is gone, gone, gone. Not surprising with my current level of exercise. I feel like I'm back on track and hope to reach goal weight again by my two-year Sparkiversary in April.

Michelle. It is great to work toward a goal but don't put all your hard work on the line if you don't reach your goal in time for your anniversary. You and I both know that this is NOT a race and time will pass as it should. I hope all is going well for you and the parents and I know you'll be so happy to get back home when they are stable. Hang in there girl,

Gini

It never rains...

Wednesday, March 04, 2009

Now Dad is down with a severe bladder infection, while Mom is recovering from outpatient surgery for squaemous cell skin cancer. Two sick puppies at once!

I can't help but believe that God is allowing all this so they'll give in and ask for some outside help!

In the meantime, I'm doing what I can to keep them both comfortable while taking care of me at the same time -- running on the beach yesterday, Nordic walking with the group early this morning were lovely!

Oh Michelle. I am so sorry to hear about your parents. Remember that you, as fabulous as you are, are only 1 person. You are not superhuman and when the parents are better, you need to tell them the same. You cannot live your life in their shadow. Help is one thing, a sentance is another. I know you love them dearly but sometimes it is you have to be cruel to be kind. Blessings to you and yours,

Gini

I feel badly for your parents and for you! I do hope they will ask for outside help so you can get back to a normal life for yourself. I fear you w ill get run down and burn yourself out! I'll pray for god to intervine and guide them to outside help.
