Down a pound!

Tuesday, March 10, 2009

Yay! one of those ten gained is gone, gone, gone. Not surprising with my current level of exercise. I feel like I'm back on track and hope to reach goal weight again by my two-year Sparkiversary in April.

Michelle. It is great to work toward a goal but don't put all your hard work on the line if you don't reach your goal in time for your anniversary. You and I both know that this is NOT a race and time will pass as it should. I hope all is going well for you and the parents and I know you'll be so happy to get back home when they are stable. Hang in there girl,

Gini

Well done Michelle, success on difficult circumstances. But a healthy lifelstyle always makes things easier.

Good for you, Michelle!! You should win an award for determination and effort. I hope your mom and dad are doing better and that your life is not as stressful as in the past.

It never rains...

Wednesday, March 04, 2009

Now Dad is down with a severe bladder infection, while Mom is recovering from outpatient surgery for squaemous cell skin cancer. Two sick puppies at once!

I can't help but believe that God is allowing all this so they'll give in and ask for some outside help!

In the meantime, I'm doing what I can to keep them both comfortable while taking care of me at the same time -- running on the beach yesterday, Nordic walking with the group early this morning were lovely!

Oh Michelle. I am so sorry to hear about your parents. Remember that you, as fabulous as you are, are only 1 person. You are not superhuman and when the parents are better, you need to tell them the same. You cannot live your life in their shadow. Help is one thing, a sentance is another. I know you love them dearly but sometimes it is you have to be cruel to be kind. Blessings to you and yours,

Gini

I feel badly for your parents and for you! I do hope they will ask for outside help so you can get back to a normal life for yourself. I fear you w ill get run down and burn yourself out! I'll pray for god to intervine and guide them to outside help.

Stumbled but didn't fall...

Friday, February 27, 2009

Thank you all for your sweet greetings and welcome! It seems like someone is out to get me! But he ain't gonna win!

Mom had to be admitted to the ER on Wednesday, just after my recommitment here on Spark. Praise God, she didn't have pneumonia as they originally suspected and is home again now after being kept for a couple of days for observation and IV steroids and antibiotics for severe bronchitis.

I still managed to get some strength training in yesterday. YAY! I'll be back tomorrow when things settle down a little. I'm off to the grocery store and to the pharmacy to get her meds.

In training for...

...the Festival of Hymns this afternoon at First Presby. I sang with this group 30 years ago, and they've welcomed me back for the past few weeks. It has been good for heart, soul and spirit - not to mention getting my voice back in shape. It's been awhile since I sang many notes above the staff and the director has me singing all these descants! www.fpcnaples.org/

AND Run for the Paws, a 6K to benefit the local Humane Society.
Coming up on Saturday! www.runforthepaws.com

Loved the picture. That organ is awesome. After seeing the trumpets I can imagine what it must sound like. Glad you had the experience to go back and sing again. I am in my choir but it is very small as it is a small church. I have been in larger ones and the church I grew up in had a wonderful organ and organist and choir director.

Have a great run for such a great cause. I admire you and your good stanima. All the best. emoticon
