Sunday evening...I often go Nordic walking or jogging on Sunday evening. I'm enjoying the longer days of summer while I can. Last night I decided to leave the poles at home and run my usual route. I've got my eye on a 10K race at the beginning of September and it's certainly not to early to get serious about training. As I was running, I was reflecting on/praying about things that came up in the morning worship service, and after a bit, I realized that the running was easy! Granted, my pace was slow, but since I started running again a few months back (after a pause of something like 20 years!) I've really had to concentrate on form, breathing, posture and such. Yesterday evening, I was just running for awhile, the form and breathing just fell into place as my mind was occupied with heavenly things --- and that felt really good!

    Michelle, it's amazing what your body can do when your mind is preoccupied with something else. I always let my mind go someplace else while I'm working out. Sounds like you had a wonderful run. Best wishes on your 10K training.

Done and Decluttering

Just finished my Old Testament final exam and feel like I did pretty well. Time for a nap before I go to praise team rehearsal in a couple of hours, but I thought I'd have some fun and post a collage of the "objets d'out" that I've gotten rid of in this first week of our decluttering challenge. I haven't had any problem finding something to give away, throw away or donate on a daily basis. I wonder if you ever get to the point where it's hard?     I loved the cracked pot! Isn't it great to great rid of old stuff. I love walking into my "junk" closet after decluttering it and see empty shelf space!

New Month, New Resolve

Not to worry, this is an old picture! It's August and I'll be working on my goal list tomorrow. But one new thing this month will be a decluttering challenge that a df is doing on her blog. The goal is to declutter one item a day for the month and post about it at least once a week, either on your own blog or on hers. Next check-in is Friday, August 8.

First item to go is a dress that I suppose I could still wear but that makes me feel fat. It used to be so comfy to hide the extra kilos under this, as you can see above.

Since going back to work at the language school on Monday, I've scarcely had a chance to post! I've been tying up some of the loose ends from my various cleaning and decluttering projects, studying for my Old Testament course, and teaching a new English student (most of my regular students are on vacation). I managed to get to the gym twice, haven't been very good about FOOD, though. So I'll track again this weekend. I need to get back into the lunch-packing habit again, too. Since the microwave at work died, I've slacked off on that a bit. New month, new resolve!

    Hey Michelle, I know what you mean, I got rid of some clothes too! I was given a dress the other day and it fits like a dream. It is the first time I've wore a dress without a jacket to cover up in ages!!! Feels good! I'm actually tucking my shirt tails in too!!! Isn't this fun!

    Hi Michelle, yes I think we'd all identify with wearing the clothes that hide sooo much; especially if you don't have large hips, it's true you can get away with more (my experience!)
I wish you well with your decluttering...I'm the exact opposite which can work against me...where is it? I've thrown it away!!LOL!
