2 weeks in and lost 8 lbs :)

I have been going to the gym pretty much every other day. tonight i am going to try my first class I am going to try the Werq class which is a dance class. My daughter is going to come with me so that will be fun. I am not sure about it so time will tell if i stay in this one or switch to a step class. On the positive I have lost 8.4 lbs in 2 weeks, this is using my scale at home which i know is off but that is the one i am using for spark people that does put me ahead of my goal to be down 24 lbs in 12 week. that is only my short term goal. I have been doing pretty well at staying consistent on working out and eating better. I am sleeping much better and over all been feeling better. Cant wait for the first person to say have you been losing weight :).

first week and half of challenge

this a few days late but better late than never :). It has been a week and half since i started the challenge. To date I have lost 6 lbs (this is using my home scale which is higher than the scale for the contest.) I have been going to the gym at least 3 times a week hoping to increase that in the coming week. I am currently using my son-in-laws truck so I use more gas to go anywhere. Hopefully will get my car back this weekend. If not I will go the Replex which is in the town i work (just really dont like that one, because it doesnt have a lot of equipment and the students i work with go there and i really dont like working out with them). I have not had any pepsi since the first of the year. I have been drinking lots and lots of water. Still not joined a class yet I will do that as soon as i get my car back.

Today I start my body challenge. it is a 12 week body fit challenge . I am very excited to do this challenge. I am hoping it will help me stay motivated and give me some accountability. i am looking forward to a great change in 12 weeks. i will post pictures through out the time just to help me see a change. I have been doing pretty good at working at staying committed to working out. Yesterday i did not go to the gym but i still did a work out at home.

interest vs committment

Found this quote yesterday and it really it home. I am really working on turning my interest of getting into shape into a commitment. I took one more step closer to this today by signing up for the Golds Gym 12 week body fit challenge. I can not afford a personal trainer at this time so i have to do this on my own. I am going to look at classes and go to them since i will need someone to push me. So here is to commitment and no excuses.

snow storm and cold

We joined Golds Gym Dec 29. I have been to the gym twice since we joined. wanted to go more but we had a snow storm come through that gave us 5-8 inches of snow and then it started blowing. Almost everything was closed for 2.5 days. Then it was also frigid temps with windchills -45 to -50 F. I did do some exercise while i was snowed in. Sad thing is i found out my treadmill at home has a short in it and decides to go super fast that is not safe to be on it lol so have to break out the dvd for days i dont go to the gym. I am going to be looking at classes to get involved in. I am also going to enter the body challenge that Golds Gym is having (probably wont win but will give me some motivation).
