Hello to ALL of my Fellow and Sister BLCers (And Howdy to all you Non-BLCer's who were kind enough to just stop by.)

It has been a long while...and I sure do Miss chatting with EVERYONE!

Oh...For those who don't know..."The BLC" is a 12 Week Challenge, here on Sparkpeople. If you have any interest you can click on the link provided to Join the MAILING LIST TEAM...There will be a New Round beginning Very Soon. With Back To School, there is also Back To The BLC!!! (The BIGGEST LOSER CHALLENGE).

This is a 12 Week Challenge that perpetuates, with a small break between Rounds. Currently, we are in our 22nd Consecutive Round...That Tells you that it WORKS!

Now...Back to the "back story"...

I have had the honor and privilege to have been an ADMIN for This Special Challenge for 14 Rounds...I would eat, sleep, and breathe the BLC everyday...So much so, that I got out of balance for a while...and I sadly, retired from The BLC and took a year off, until I might be able to come back without getting the shakes, and wanting to have my fingers in everything again. Twas hard to overcome that...but I have...and now I am BACK in The BLC and Doing FANTASTIC!!! If you want to know more about me and my story, just stop by my sparkpage.

This is the FIRST time I have EVER been in The BLC and NOT been in Leadership...It is New to me...but I like it...I like it alot!

I am now a part of The PINK VIKINGS TEAM and we are ON FIRE this Round! We Just Ranked #1 Over All of the other 22 or so, teams...We are Really FOCUSED and sre MAKING PROGRESS HAPPEN! I LOVE being a part of this TEAM! So Many are making Such Wonderful Changes and it shows...In this 9 Weeks, we have been Throwing the LB's overboard like CRAZY! To this point our TEAM (of about 26 gals-ish) have shed -175 Pounds!!! Anyone see a 5'10" Fella standing around?!?!? Try to pick him up...Yeah That's Right!!! We are ACHIEVING OUR SUCCESS!!! We have a Goal of -200 Pounds this Round...and I think we are Gonna Do it PLUS! Ya see, with my PINK SISTAS...We are PRO-Active...and we get it DONE Before it needs ta be done, so we can Do even MORE!

Now that being said...You ALL KNOW that I am Rooting for EVERY TEAM!!! When I had the pleasure of being in ADMIN...I think I had THE BEST JOB in The BLC...because I got to flutter around and Chat with EVERY TEAM...I belonged to ALL TEAMS...I am pretty sure I must hold the record for being a Member of the Most Teams...

Anyway...With being a Member of only 1 Team now...I do not get to visit with as many of you as I once did...and I just wanted to give a GIANT HALLAH out To ALL of MY BLC Friends!!!

I wanted to take a minute (or like, probably 10, by the time you get done reading emoticon )

I want to SHARE some of My BLC ENERGY with ALL of YOU!!! This Challenge is Like MAGIC! I get so INSPIRED and MOTIVATED through All of your ACTIONS! When I read about your Milestones...and ACCOMPLISHMENTS...It FIRES-ME-UP...and...It makes me want to CELEBRATE WITH YOU!!!

I wish you ALL GREAT SUCCESS this Round...I hope Round 22 has been GOOD to YOU! I hope it has been a time of Change and Growth...I hope you are finding ALL of the Healthy Benefits of MAKING YOU A PRIORITY and MAKING those CHANGES HAPPEN!

    Karen...Just RIGHT CLICK and COPY the Document...A box will Pop up...You change the name in it...to what you Want it to be. BLACKJACK or whatever you like...Then it will open in a new window under the NEW name you gave it...Then it is just like Tracking. You determine how many points you earned...and then enter that number under each category...I know it's a lot for the calculating...That is why this CALCULATOR is SO COOL!

I just keep track of everything that I have earned, several times a day...You have to do it to keep up...or up may get Amnesia and forget about all that you have done.

I'll post the point chart and you just let me know if you need any further help. I KNOW you have points because you posted on this BLOG...So There ya go...You already HAVE Points...Make SURE that you count them Toward your PARTICIPATION points too! That is so IMPORTANT so your TEAM can get 100% PARTICIPATION...It is very esteemed!

And then there is the Be Kind Portion of the Challenge...Or nice...and either way...I am CERTAIN you already have points for that too!!!

SMART GOALS for 22

Smart Goal!

S - Specific -I will shed -12 pounds in 12 weeks by TRACKING my food and Fitness, and Monitoring My Progress. I will check in with me, each night, to be sure that I have Achieved at least 80% of my Goals, allowing 20% Wiggle Room. This means I do NOT have to be perfect. I just have to TRY...everyday. TRACKING is Key for me and the only way I will ever KNOW...Knowledge is POWER!

M - Measurable-I will be AWARE of my calories through tracking and no longer shoot in the dark. I will get a MINIMUM of 20 minutes of loving movement every day. I will drink at least 64oz of water a day. I will get 7-8 hours of sleep most nights. I will eat within my calorie range and attempt to hit my macro-nutrients daily.

A - Attainable-I will shoot for a healthy -1 to -2 pounds average per week. That will help me reach or surpass my Goal.

R - Realistic- This is a Healthy Rate and I am comfortable with this range. i can do all things one step at a time.

T – Time Based-This is a 12 Week Challenge. It will be nearly September by the end. I CAN DO THIS!

New to BLC22...This message is for YOU!

This morning did not go as planned...My SIL called to cancel going to the gym this morning. and invited me to come along shopping with her for her sons graduation goodies...What happened next surprised me...I declined...Weird because I don't mind that kind of shopping and spending time with my good friend...FUN...right...That is me...I like FUN...but then...what happened next...made me feel SO GOOD! I told you all this morning that I was going to the gym...and gonna make a record...3 days in a row...But guess what...I did not do that...

Instead...I drove my little car to our area metro-parks...and I did a 5k all by myself...I kicked my own butt...I made me run up hills...I made me run down hills...I went on the horse trails...away from the noise of traffic and other exercisers...I just enjoyed myself immensely...when I wasn't gasping for breath. emoticon I really wanted to just get my Magic mile, so I could say I got some fitness, and be done with it...I was struggling to stay.

But Noooooooo...I thought of you all working hard, and making wonderful Achievements Happen...So I kept going...Mile 2, I wanted to just stop...I was sweating...it was hot and humid already...in the woods no less...My car was just about a little more than a 1/4 mile away...I could just be done...I had already gone farther than I wanted to...

But Noooooo...I made myself climb a steep hill, and then I turned around and made myself run for longer than I had before...and you know what??? I FELT AMAZING and ACCOMPLISHED because I got that 5k...even when I was fighting myself...So THANK YOU again for the mental support I needed to push myself through...I did more than I was going to...by 3x's...and YES! I Feel GOOD!

I stopped at Panera on my way home and picked up a strawberry, chicken, poppy seed salad, and I am looking forward to refueling with Healthy Whole Food!!!

Had to stop back and let you know I was so happy...because I didn't give into an excuse (A FUN one too) not to workout...it didn't go as I had intended, but I had a back-up plan...and then I pushed myself to go farther...I was STRONGER than my inner-voice that did not want to really give much effort...I beat that voice and I am ECSTATIC! It is not often that I have gone against what I want...that is half my problem...Telling myself No...having self-control and focus on my Goals...or being able to push myself out of my own comfort-zone...However, Since joining back here with all of you...I am starting to get my rhythm back...and I am wicked Happy!!!



It was one a those Surprise yourself moments...So Thanks for giving me that added pep...that STRONGER, LOUDER inner-voice, telling me to do the work and push through. It might be the Endorphin's speaking...but I just feel so jazzed right now! Felt like celebrating my NSV (Non-Scale Victory) with all of you...since you had something to do with it too.

High-5's for everyone!!!

    I Kicked-Off The BLC with a Trip to the Gym with a Personal Trainer!!! Got in 100 minutes of Fitness and I TRACKED EVERYTHING and I am SO CLOSE with my Macro-nutrients...YAY!!! FEELIN' GOOD!!!! Gonna Get my Magical 7-8 hours of rest tonight...Wake-up, and do it all over again Tomorrow!!!

My kids are out of school...but I will not derail from my Progress...I am going to get up and go to the gym EARLY before they even know I was gone! Hey, wait...did I just say that?!?!?!

Well...Great News for US...Bad News for Krill...

Okay...okay...okay...It's about Krill Oil...and really, this is NOT a commercial...It's just some really cool stuff I have JUST discovered, and I want to share with everyone else because I want you to have the same facts that I do. I am going to share a post I made on FB just a bit ago. Hot off the Presses!!! Well, It is Great News to Me anyway, and I just had ta share it with all of YOU!

This Just goes to show you again, on a couple of different levels, How Something so small and simple, and with so little effort, can have such a Powerful, Beneficial, and Great Impact on our Health. I'm tellin' you...It's all about those baby-steps...Since I have discovered this, I am going to for sure, give it a try! Of course I have already shared with my Parents, In-laws, and Aunts n' Uncles...and then I came here straight away, to share with you too. Shoutin' it from the Mountain-Tops! Yodle-le-he-Hoooooo!!! emoticon

To give you a little background, before proceeding further...A friend and I are discussing our current health and nutrition with a group of folks, and Krill oil comes up...I decide to do some investigating to check into the benefits...and Boy Howdy...It might be worth your time too. It was for me.

To be more specific, I am responding to her comment, that she did not know what krill were (fish that follow the whales, fish food if you will, It's like ya cut out the middle man and go for the real deal...Ya know...what the fish eat, to give you the benefits of the Fish oil. She thought you had to eat the fish. Thankfully, that is not the case at all! emoticon )

The first is an 8 minute video, and pretty factual and technical...but Great Info! I know I am glad that I took the 8 minutes to get mo' KNOWLEDGE! The 2nd is Dr. Oz, as he explains things so we all can understand it better. I hope you'll benefit from taking this time as well.

Oh my Gawsh Do NOT make me laugh Penni...Oh that was so funny. I bet suddenly Krill oil is not as bad as you thought, huh?!? I've been hearing quite a bit about Krill Oil more recently as well. I decided to investigate a little further and Good news...I found an 8 minute Video, from a fella who certainly sounds like he knows what he was talking about...All seemed Very Factual, though I admit I did not check his facts...It is a LOT of GOOD info on Krill oil and its Benefits. For sure check it out. When you start breaking things down into macro-nutrients, I think this would be an excellent decision to make. Think I'm gonna go get me sum a that...I am also following with a Dr. Oz video since folks seem to gravitate toward him as the expert..."Well Dr. Oz says...". So now you can make an informed decision too. Should I make a commercial?!?! ;)

    Heheheee Kal...I suppose you might be "write"...This part of the process does seem rather overwhelming...I'm just gonna take it one baby-step at a time. It may not happen in the time frame I had imagined...but as long as I do keep working on it...it will come to fruition eventually. Spring is coming and I always have a resurgence with the wakening of Life in the Spring. Today...I will give Focus to my book. Thanks for the subtle kick in the britches. emoticon Edit and Re-write...here I come!
