Last day of winter Challenge

WEll I went back and read what I had written at the beginning of this challenge. The timing was very good, since I've had a difficult week; even gaining 1 pound. The last few weeks have been quite stressful and I'm finding it difficult to stick with my goals. Luckily. my friend Gayle joined sparks people yesterday and now I'm feeling refreshed and eager to go forward. Today I kept track of cverything I ate. I think I will go back and start with the basics. One foot in front of the other is good but sometimes it's good to look back, re-evaluate and start fresh. This weekend I will make a giant pot of vegitable soup and concentrate on eating only healthy none sugary foods for awhile. Well here I go again.

Started a new challenge

I started a new challenge. I'm doing the January boot camp. I've done the first two videas and I really liked them. They are very quick and easy, but get my blood pumping. I'm going to have to do something about my knees though. I can't seem to do squats without some pain. I've been ignoring this problem for a while, (Luckily there is only pain with certain movements. In fact even running doesn't seem to bother me.) but maybe I'll have to make an appointment to see my doctor. I'd really like to be able to do all the exercises.

    I'm also doing the January Challenge and I like it so far. I like doing different things and it is easy to tack on these exercises to whatever else I'm doing. Good luck with the challenge!

I also have knee issues when I run very much or with particular exercises. I saw an ortho and the X-Rays showed no issues, but he said that didn't check soft-tissues. I know I have some issues due to an injury many years ago. One thing he had me do was get SuperFeet insoles. That has helped a lot, but it hasn't solved the problems.

I keep wondering if it will just get better after I lose more weight.

I hope the Dr. is able to help or verify that you don't have any damage in your knees.

Having trouble not gainging weight on holidays.

Yikes. I'm in Victoria on Christmas holidays. It is very difficult to not overeat; incredible food everywhere. Yesterday I had the best Wonton (Vegan) soup I have ever eaten at a Buddhist restaaurant my daughter took us to.

Tenacious Tangerines Winning in Winter Challenge Goals

Here I go on a new challenge. I plan to continue to exercise regularly and eat healthy portion appropriate meals. Mostly my goal is to continue putting one foot in front of the other and not to give up. I will accept that I will have both successes and failures, but this will not make me quit.

It's not magic it's math. (Dr. Phil said this about finances, but I think it applies to weight problems as well.) I can no longer eat more calories than my body needs. It's not about what the scale says at any given moment, but how I live everyday, being honest and truthful to myself. Truthful about what I really want; how I am really feeling; and how I need to live in order to have the life I want.

Specifically to attain my goals I plan to:

1) introduce some strength training into my exercise routine
2) increase the amount of cardio (1 hour a day 5 days a week)
3) treat myself better - buy myself some nice cloths - eat beautiful meals (not the burnt stuff I wouldn't feed to others) - take time for myself everyday.

    Way to go. One foot at a time. Just keep going in the right direction. We will do this. Changing our habits is the hardest part, but together we can make mountains move.

    Way to go!! So glad you are part of the team. Sometimes just putting one foot in front of the other is all we can do and sometimes we can do more! You are in a good space being able to accept both the rewards and the challenges along the way!

    I think putting one foot in front of the other is a great goal. Sometimes we just need to focus on the now and the future and keep moving forward. I'm looking forward to all of us working to help each other reach our goals!
