Kick in the Butt

Tuesday, December 29, 2009

Well I had been doing good as of 11/09/09 which was my last weigh in and I had lost my first 50 lbs. After that, the planning of my sister's wedding, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and all these crazy pot lucks had really taken me off track. I was eating poorly and not working out. Today after so many weeks of avoiding reality I finally gave in and weighed myself. I can't believe how easy it is to gain so much weight back in such little time.

This is to open everyone's eyes and let you know that it is sooooo hard to lose the weight but Soooooo easy to gain it back. From 11/09/09 to today 12/28/09 I have gained exactly 10 lbs. That is HUGE. So as of today I will totally get back on track. Oh and another super important thing. Since 11/09 I had not been tracking my food on sparkpeople, and that totally threw me off, I thought I was invincible, and I was sooo wrong. I feel very ashamed of myself but I am not going to beat myself up. I will get back up because I know Exactly what to do to lose the weight. And I also know exactly what to do to gain it. So I prefer to follow the right and healthy path. I can do this, and I WILL GET TO MY GOAL of - 109 lbs. I will, so this summer I will look better than ever.

After this Huge reality check and logging back on sparkpeople I have gotten so inspried again. Thank you to MARJIJANE and MCMPOOH43, Reading your blogs and seeing your updated pictures Haver really inspired me. GOOD JOB Girls!!!

Seriously!

XOXO,

Yoma

Don't worry girl, I think most of us messed up this whole Holiday season. I know I did. But also, most of those 10 lbs. aren't really fat you gained back, it's mostly water retention and being bloated from all the junk food. So don't worry they'll come off really easy! You go girl!

I know exactly how you feel. The Holidays also messed me up! I got a new WW scale for Christmas and I don't want to check how much I've gained. I know it will be a shock also. Good for you for facing the weight gain head on and getting back on track!!! A new year brings many new beginings!

We are on the same page! Although I did not gain 10lbs, I did gain 6 since October and now I am trying to get back on track to get to my original "loss" number! I did show a loss this week, and, yes, I started tracking my food, once again...What a HUGE difference in attitude comes with "paying the piper" and honestly logging food... now I just have to get back to balanced meals! lol
It is hard to have Sees chocolate for lunch and log those calories, but honestly, I feel better just acknowledging that I did just that!

Pictures are a reality check, and I promised myself that I would have one taken every month along my journey...good, bad or ugly... At least we both know that SparkPeople is the answer to our prayers!

Keep up the good work, I will keep checking in to help me stay in check!

Going for 7 1/2 months WOW!!!!!

Monday, November 16, 2009

Sorry I haven't been doing much updates. It will be almost 8 months since I started this new great journey in life. I am so happy to have found SparkPeople thanks to my friend Marcia!!! She is amazing and a great inspiration.

Well It's taken me 7 months to lose my 50 lbs. I know I could've lost more, but I have not been as strict with myself as I was at the beggining, and that is not a good thing. But I try really hard to get back on the bandwagon and thanks to that I have reached my half milestonegoal of 50 lbs. I still need to lost 59 more to actually get to my BIG goal! But eventually I will get there.

I have had my ups and downs but I have not let go of that dream to get healthier. But boy do I feel healthier and more active. My self-esteem has gotten way better, I am not intimidated by walking into Scottsdale's Mall and thinking "Look at all this beautiful plasticky woman buying beautiful small clothing" Now I go in thinking "I'm getting there and with NO plastic"! LOL

I love being able to find better fitting clothing and get complimented by my husband how great and healthy I look. I have changed my exercise routine a little and added Turbo Jam and wow is that a work out!!! Hopefully from here to Christmas I reach my 2nd goal which is lose 60 lbs.

I started by using a size 22 and now I'm down to a size 16. Thank God I didnt throw my old post wedding clothing because they have helped a lot. :) hehe

I hope I can keep you guys updated more often. I need to buy myself new work out clothes because the one I have fit big and that is why I haven't taken a picture but once I get new workout clothes I will take a most updated pic.

Hope all of you guys are doing great!

XOXO

4 Months..Wow seriously!! 4 months!

Hi Everyone!

I didn't know if I should post a blog or not, but I just want to let everyone know I'm still alive and I'm really happy how time flies !

This is my 4th monht update, and so far so good. Slowly but surely I have been reaching my goals. So far I Have lost 38.5 lbs, very shy from the big 40! I will be good this month of August to surpass the 40 and hopefully reach my goal of 60 lbs by October (my Birthday Month)

I have noticed a lot of changes in my body and my moods and health!!! I have felt much more energy and my OLD CLOTHES FIT!!!!! I started this using a 22 with a super muffin top size 20. But slowy and gradually I am down to a 16-18 depending on the make of the clothes, I could finally shop at the GAP and Old Navy (my Old stores) and I have managed to stay away from super Expensive Lane Bryant and Torrid. I REFUSE to shop there because I know that in a near future I will be able to start shopping in the cute stores. I will not be the fat sister that waited for her other 2 sisters to shop at Forever 21 and me just staying in the accessories section because those are the only things that would fit, jewelery and purses!!! I am excited about my new body changes how clothes fit better and how I feel much better about myself when I go out.

I am starting to look and feel like my old self!! I'm happy and I think I show it!!!

Here is a picture of me in College, maybe 10 years ago, not thaaat long lol but I want to get to that point of using a size 11 again and even smaller!!! Wish me Luck Everyone! w00t!! :)

Here is another picture of me from this weekend with my friends Anette & Rosario

When you're on the elliptical, do u change the intesity level at all?

You should try that. I start at 6.5 I stay at that level for about 2 - 3 min, and then I move up the intensity level to 12.5, I do that for 3 - 4 min, then I change the level to 9. do 3 min and go up to 15, and so on, try it, I do this about 4 days a week, for 20 - 25 minutes. I do the same with the treadmill.

You should combine cardio and strength training. And if possible try to jump rope for at least 10 minutes, of course with some 5 - 15 seconds rests in between. That really gets you going. And girl just dance it off. When I first started I would work out with the lights off and only a night lite on, con una faja, I still work out with one on, I would put on some shorts, and a tank top, and I would work out with my seXXXy heels, yes HEELS, it made me feel a little sexy, u know.

Try it girl! Good luck.
