Meteo!

Sunday, September 06, 2009

In West Africa right now we are having more rain than we have had in years. Apparently, in Burkina Faso, they are experiencing rainfalls like they haven't had since 1918! Of course, because of the layout, they are experiencing a lot of flooding. My heart goes out to them. Also in Senegal, in certain parts of the capital Dakar, they are having floods and people are walking knee deep in water in their homes. It is a terrible situation for them and rainfalls are still expected till the end of October. It is beautiful to look at all the green but at what price?

My walking activities are very limited these days but I do compensate with other activities.

How sad for the people experiencing the floods, but the rain is one thing man has no control over. We often complain here about too little rain, but flooding is definitely worse.

September is here and I am ready for it

Tuesday, September 01, 2009

Despite the fact that we have electricity outages nearly every day, when I have electricity I take the opportunity to exercise when it is on. Because of the bad weather (often it is raining) and that many a path are muddy, it is hard to walk outside but this will NOT stop me in reaching my goals. By October 1st, I am aiming at losing 7 lbs which would bring me down to 160 lbs. I know I can do it if I put my mind and energy in it.

Disappointing month!

Monday, August 31, 2009

The month of August proved to be a a disappointing month for me. I have basically not lost any weight nor inches during this month.

My fitness level though is way up and I am feeling good about that. I have done over 57 and half hours of exercises in August.

Again, August was disappointing for the weight loss part but September is here tomorrow so... a new month begins. I will not let this spoil my enthusiasm for fitness. Voila!

Keep that positive attitude and AWESOME JOB on the exercise. I think August was a test month for A LOT of us. I'm not sure why I also struggled this month with motivation but I kept on doing what I've been doing and I too will go into Sept. with a POSITIVE attitude. All my best to you and God Bless. Rick

The same exact thing is happening to me this month too! I am still working out, but it sure doesn't help me feel very motivated. I'm finding myself wanting to go back to enjoying my food and doing less every day I don't notice chance. I have to force myself to do everything I do!

emoticon on the fitness time you've put in.
I know you're on a dreaded plateau at the moment but stay on track and things will move again soon.
Don't depair hum. Look how far you've come and that's all down to your own determination and efforts,

I am very proud of you! Your disappointment is understandable, however there is good news. You didn't gain anything. The enormous load you carrying everyday takes it's toll. even though you carry said toll, you meet it each day head on and still maintain a relatively positive life. You haven't given up under circumstances that would have left many whimpering in a corner with hands up in despair. You are a wonder of delight and I for one admire you. Keep smiling Sunshine! It is a new day. emoticon

I was too overconfident!

Sunday, August 23, 2009

I weighed myself higher today than I was last week! The inches varied on the lower side so not all is lost. emoticon This coming week, I will be more careful about my food consumption.

I always take my measurements when I weigh because my weight shifts around and i am still getting smaller, even when I don't lose weight.

Been there, done that, so I know how you feel. It's frustrating that the scale makes such a difference in your attitude. Just concentrate on the inches lost. The scale will probably show a bigger loss next week!

Don't beat yourself up about the increase. Remember, muscle weighs more than fat and if you went down in inches, than you built muscle. You are doing great. ((HUGS)) Linda Kay

Hey hun your weight can vary by as much as 5 pounds in a week. Don't lose heart or have a knee jerk reaction and overcompensate, just stay on course.
The weight will come off- and remember you're fitter and healthier now and you've lost inches..all measures of your success

Please don't forget that fluctuation is normal at any time. It is good to be aware and redirect as needed but don't be discouraged! You have a great attitude and that alone is a large part of the journey to better health. Love, hugs and blessings and as always keep smiling Sunshine! emoticon
