I was too overconfident!

Sunday, August 23, 2009

I weighed myself higher today than I was last week! The inches varied on the lower side so not all is lost. emoticon This coming week, I will be more careful about my food consumption.

I always take my measurements when I weigh because my weight shifts around and i am still getting smaller, even when I don't lose weight.

Been there, done that, so I know how you feel. It's frustrating that the scale makes such a difference in your attitude. Just concentrate on the inches lost. The scale will probably show a bigger loss next week!

Don't beat yourself up about the increase. Remember, muscle weighs more than fat and if you went down in inches, than you built muscle. You are doing great. ((HUGS)) Linda Kay

Hey hun your weight can vary by as much as 5 pounds in a week. Don't lose heart or have a knee jerk reaction and overcompensate, just stay on course.
The weight will come off- and remember you're fitter and healthier now and you've lost inches..all measures of your success

Please don't forget that fluctuation is normal at any time. It is good to be aware and redirect as needed but don't be discouraged! You have a great attitude and that alone is a large part of the journey to better health. Love, hugs and blessings and as always keep smiling Sunshine! emoticon

It CAN be discouraging...

Sunday, August 16, 2009

Although I am working out on a regular basis and am within my calorie range, my weight loss is really too slow. Thinking back to 2004, I did go on a diet which was called "Fit for Life" by Harvey and Marilyn Diamond. It is not actually a diet but a way of eating. They do not combine proteins with carbs. You can eat carbs with veggies and proteins with veggies. No pasteurized milk products. Fruits only in the morning. Maybe I will try this again because I did manage to lose some weight back then and since I am hypothyroid, it is a regime that is recommended. It will not be easy because my family members will not eat like I will. Meal planning will be a tad more difficult.

Hi there I'm glad to see you're off your plateau,
Surely your family will support your new food regime if it helps keep you healthy,
Just be prepared for the extra work in the kitchen and don't get side tracked eh?
You can do this...if this is what you want GO FOR IT!!!!!!
Luv and hugs

Tomorrow is already Friday!

Thursday, August 13, 2009

The week has gone by too quickly. I started the week slowly but I seem to be back on track. For a couple of days, I just felt like laying back but my good reasoning came up to surface again. My motivation needed to get a bit shaken but I'm OK again. I will give you all a yell if this happens again.

The scale will eventually budge when the inches go. But for me I like the inches because the clothes fit better. Sometimes we need to say NO to the scale.
