One mountaineer to another: "it almost cost us our lives climging to the top of Mount Everest to plant our flag, but it was worth it. Hand me the flag."
"Me? I thought you brought it.
"Jill," a teacher demandedof the student in the hall, "do you mind telling me whose class you're cutting this time?"
"Well," the teenager explained, "see, okay, like it's like I really don't like think like that's really important, y'know, like because I'm y'know, like I don't get anything out of it."
"It's Mrs. Winthrop's English class, isn't it?"

Back in February 2011 I began a Facial Exercising Team. We're an active bunch interested in making grimaces to eventually make our faces look tighter.
Try out our challenge for this current week:
BEFORE YOU START EXERCISING, DON’T FORGET TO LUBRICATE YOUR FACE WITH CREAM OR WITH WATER.
Neck and throat – (one of my favorites)
Sit upright, tilt your head back looking at the ceiling, while keeping your lips closed and relaxed. Start puckering your lips together in a kiss and stretch the kiss, as if you were trying to kiss the ceiling. Keep your lips puckered for 10 counts, then relax, bring your head back to its normal position and repeat 5 times.
Suck on the tip of your index finger, up to the first joint, as hard as you can, slowly pulling it from your mouth. Repeat 10 times.
Firm up your brow, place your index fingers on your forehead just above your eyelids and pull them down while trying to raise your eyebrows. Repeat 10 times. On the 10th count, hold it by pulling down your eyebrows and lifting your forehead until you feel the burn and release.
Without moving your upper lids, attempt to raise your lower ones. This great defense against crow’s feet is easier said than done. Repeat 10 times.
Neck and throat
Place your hand at the base of your neck and hold. Tilt your head back 35 times while smiling strong (mouth closed). You will feel your neck and chin working.
After doing these, massage your face and neck with upward strokes.

Oh yes, I feel the old me coming back! My energy level is back and I feel great. For the last while I felt as though my energy was wavering and I couldn't do what I was used to doing. Since, I have upped my Levothyroxine (for my Hypothyroidism) and still taking the same dosage of my T4. What more can I say? I just feel wonderful again. Once I start exercising, I just go on and on...
This is very encouraging I must say.
Hugs to you all.

On Nov. 13, 2010, I had gotten off the 150s but Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, other outings, etc. came along and I was back in the 150s. Yes, since then, I have been around 150 all the time (up two, down two lbs). It was kind of frustrating I must say.
Well, I'm happy to announce that as of yesterday, I am finally off the 150s. And 140 here I come. I know what needs to be done -- exercise more and stay well within my calorie range which is 1200-1600 calories. If I stay at about 1400 calories and burn off lots of calories, the weight WILL come off.
I'm good and ready to do this.

Have you heard yourself say at times "Oh, I'll start or I'll do it tomorrow." Well did you start the next day? What I like to remind people every now and then in the huddles is that "TODAY is yesterday's tomorrow". You will feel better about yourself when you start NOW instead of putting off doing whatever needs to be done, albeit your exercises, putting away things, doing the dishes, etc. I always feel that we have a tendency of procrastinating and that is why we are here today. The promised tomorrows never came and they went by being todays and yesterdays...
NOW is as good a time as any to do whatever needs to be done, so let's do it!
