Challenging week...

Friday, February 18, 2011

Every day this week I have burned an average of 796 calories per day! This is quite an achievement for me as I usually burn 350 to 450 a day. I feel great and will continue doing the same next week.

Hugs to all.

Incredible but true...

Sunday, January 30, 2011

Exercising is a wonderful thing! The more you do it, the more your body needs it. Yesterday was supposed to be my day of rest and because I was getting a bit antsy at about 4:30 p.m. I started exercising and overall I did 95 minutes. I then decided to on Sunday, I will rest. At about 5 p.m. I looked at my clock and felt like going out for a walk -- even leisurely... I decided there and then that it was time to think of my body and have it recuperate on this day.

Do any of you get like this also?

Great question - for me I am finding that as I treat myself with care via the SP program, I am having more "antsy" moments or more energy moments I guess is a better way to say it and I find this interesting. Today will be a relaxing day more or less - I still have some caretaking to attend to and am thinking of other ways to let go of that.

Your page is so inspirational - great job on exercising and taking care of yourself by listening to your body.

I am getting antsy now actually. Have let my walk/running, strength training, kettlebell training etc slide and feel sluggish and not in a good place. Back to it!!!
Thanks for the emoticon emoticon

This is my first visit to your page. Wow!! what a transformation!! Thank you for the advice you left on my page, and I have listened and took my measurements. Seems a much better indicator since I am weight training as part of my fitness plan. I am really becoming addicted to that, so I agree that the more you do it, the more you do it. Keep up the great work. emoticon

Exercise is like that - the more you do, the more your body likes it. Finally, something it likes better than chocolate! (?) lol

I have a really, really hard time taking a rest day. I usually end up doing something light...leisurely walk or a little dancing around the living room.

    Frequently!
I hate rest days full stop LOL.
I am always on the move these days; whether it's official structured workouts or just being active.

I blame SP for instilling a good habit; move it! emoticon emoticon

Won't be around for a while now Lise so not ignoring you hun emoticon emoticon

I have had feeling where I just wanted to go to the gym and work out but couldn't. I think it's so awesome to actually have that feeling especially since I did no type of exercise 9 months ago. There's nothing wrong with keeping it moving!

Way to go that you are loving exercise that much!

So far, they haven't cut the electricity today!!!

Sunday, January 30, 2011

Yes, every single day we wonder as to when the electricity company will cut us off. They had come up with a schedule but they are not sticking to it. Are we surprised? No.

The situation is quite bad because they owe a lot of money to the fuel suppliers and they have not paid up for quite a while therefore, whatever we receive, they have to share out in different communities. It's not easy for them either so we all have to tighten our belts and work together on this problem. Some people have burnt the electricity company's buildings around the city but that is not the solution I say. They are only aggravating the problem.

Anyway, I hope that they find a solution at some point.

Hugs to all.

Too many blackouts these days in Dakar!

Monday, January 24, 2011

Sorry about not being present as I would like. We've had many blackouts lately in Dakar and we do not like to put on the generator for hours on end so... Apparently, the blackouts will not be as much this week but we shall see. Keep your fingers crossed for me. Hugs to you all.

I am definitely motivated again!

Tuesday, January 11, 2011

In October, November and December of 2010, I had a hard time staying within my calorie range. Although not too above the limit, I was still above. From the 1st to now, I have had one day (on the 1st) when I was way above and only one more day when I was just slightly above. Because I have been exercising, I can actually pat myself on the back without being scared of hurting some muscle. emoticon

My exercise schedule is excellent and I will continue along this line. After workout out for 2 and half hours, I went for a leisurely walk close to my home for about 20 minutes. A fellow was encouraging me to run and when I told him that I was actually relaxing after my exercise stint he just smiled and went on his way. People are nice over here. When you meet people doing the same thing as you are, they usually greet.

Anyway, I should get ready to relax now as it is now past 8 p.m. over in Dakar, Senegal.

Hugs to all of you.

Lise

Sounds like you got in a good workout. I always like running on the pathways because fellow runners usually, smile, nod, or wave to other fellow runners. At first I thought it was weird, but now I really enjoy it.I actually high fived another runner once as we passed. It made me smile for the rest of the run.
