2011 is MY year!

Monday, January 03, 2011

On January 1st, I ate very badly but the ensuing days have been more than OK. I have eaten within my calorie range and burnt more than 500 calories a day. My intention this year is to keep up with these two goals because that is how I lost weight in the first place. Whenever I do not track my food, I start stagnating weight-wise. Exercising is truly not an issue as I love to move. I'm a MOVE IT person.

Catch you later! emoticon

Beautiful Pic. Glad you are working out regularly. The only suggestion I would make is to not go lower then 128 pounds. As we get older, we look better with some curves. are faces look better too. I know about shopping for baggy clothes, I hate it. I'll manage some how at my sons, they have a big house, so I automatically walk more. I have to get back on track. Not writing things down, but I,m aware of what I put in my mouth!! Cherie

Moment of Reflection for 2010

Wednesday, December 29, 2010

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

At the beginning of the year 2010, I was in Canada till mid April. I did start the year weighing 159 lbs and by June 1st I weighed 167.8 lbs, despite the fact that I did continue to exercise, but I did not necessarily keep track of my food that carefully. I needed help at this point because the weight was simply not coming off. A friend of mine told me about this way of eating which is called Chrono-nutrition in which you eat certain types of food at certain times of the day. Wow, within a couple of months I lost the weight I had put on and presently I weigh 148.28 lbs. In the same process, I have also lost over 36 inches since the very beginning. I am happy with my progress to date. However, of late, I have NOT been keeping to this way of eating and the weight is a bit stagnant. I do need to kick some butt just about NOW!

In 2011, I will continue with this regime and continue with my exercise routine and will reach my ultimate goal of either 120 or 110 lbs. I say 120 lbs because it all depends on how I look and feel at 120 lbs. If I feel good and healthy at this weight, I will remain there. At 62 years old, I do not want to look too thin. It is not recommended to go too low because a little bit of fat looks good on the face and also works well for the body because it works as estrogen. 2011 will be a good year for me and I am not giving in.

On this journey, I have discovered that I do love weight training and of course, I love to cross train also. Exercising is now part of me but I still have to work on the food intake… I still make some bad choices from time to time.

I wish you all a Happy New Year with tons of success!

I think you are smart to not have your heart set on a specific goal. Another sparkfriend of mine wanted her goal to be 130 pounds. She got to 145 and was happy with the way she felt and looked. She got down to 135 and started to feel sick. She stopped menstrating (she is only 30) and people started to comment that she was looking sick. So she gradually went back up to 145 and has maintained that... feels good and is happy. Sometimes it's not only about what the scale says. Have a safe and happy New Year. Congratulations on your accomplishments!

I think that you look beautiful ~ Ahhh - the health and fitness journey has no final destination only more goals - I am going to look into the chrono nutrition you mention - and maybe reflect my last year as well -

Thanks for being the team leader...I know that must use up a little bit of time!!

Happy New Year!

Gosh! I haven't posted since Dec. 12th!

Sunday, December 26, 2010

Yesterday was Christmas and we had friends over. For the friends whom we knew had no family here to go to, we invited over for lunch. We were 8 in all and it was very pleasant. Just so I wouldn't go overboard in calories, I didn't eat in the morning and I was not hungry at night so I did stay within my calorie range. No damage was done! emoticon

I was hoping to exercise today but I didn't... For some reason or another, I just didn't get around to it. My week starts tomorrow and I will finish 2010 with tons of energy. I plan on reaching my goal of 110 lbs in 2011.

Well good folks, I am going to take this opportunity in hoping that you had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

emoticon to all.

My progress report

Sunday, December 12, 2010

For the last couple of months, I have been struggling with my food intake. I am exercising on a regular basis and have not put on any weight but I haven't lost any either. Therefore, I decided to encourage myself to be good again with my food intake because I need to see the changes that have occurred in my body since my journey began on April 30, 2009.

When I started my journey I weighed 183.7 lbs. I now weigh 150.7 which means a 33 lbs loss.

Where it gets interesting is in the inches:
Chest: Bef. 43.5" Now. 37.5" - loss of 6 inches
Neck: Bef. 13" Now. 12" - loss of 1 inch
Midriff: Bef. 34.5" Now 31" - loss of 3.5 inches
Waist: Bef. 34.5" Now 30.5" - loss of 4 inches
Stomach: Bef. 41" Now 37.5" - loss of 3.5 inches
Hips: Bef. 44.5" Now 39" - loss of 5.5 inches
Upper Right Thigh: Bef. 26.5" Now 20.5 - loss of 6 inches
Right Knee: Bef. 17" Now 15.5" - loss of 1.5 inches
Right Calf: Bef. 16.75" Now 15 - loss of 1.75 inches
Upper Right Arm: Bef. 13" Now 11 - loss of 2 inches
Right Forearm: Bef. 11" Now 9.5" - loss of 1.5 inches

Total inches lost = 36.25 (and I didn't calculate the left arm and leg!)

Was this journey worth it? I would say so...

Now let us continue along this path to success. emoticon

I should always exercise first thing in the morning!

Thursday, December 09, 2010

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon Although I do exercise during the day, I truly should exercise first thing like I did this morning. Man, do I feel good! It's now nearly 5 p.m. and I'm still energized. Truly, there is nothing like a good workout. Hugs to you all!

Yes, I workout in the early morning, too (4:30). Otherwise, it just doesn't happen with everything that goes on and can go wrong throughout the day. I am NOT a morning person, but since I am the only one up in the house that early it's ok...it's just me & my music. I can really focus because there is nothing and no one distracting me. I absolutely hate (on the very rare occasion) when I don't get my workout done in the morning. And, yes, I agree. The energy is great. I hope this continues working for you, too!
