Be Who You Are

Wednesday, October 27, 2010

Here's another excerpt which is another gentle reminder for us all...

Let the true spirit of who you are
shine through in all that you do.
Let your hopes and dreams
always guide you in the direction
that you definitely believe in.
Let the love that is within your heart
never stop being the most important
and beautiful part of your life.
Travel through time not as one alone,
but as one among the many;
reach out to those who need your
gentle spirit and caring ways.
Make your passage through time
an endless journey of love.

We Each Have the Power to Choose...

Wednesday, October 20, 2010

I have taken the following excerpt from a book entitled "Is It Time to Make a Change?" by Deanna Beisser.

We Each Have the Power to Choose

The wind changes directions a hundred times or more a day.
It has no goal or focus to be anything more than itself.
The wind is free to come and go as it pleases.
But people, on the other hand, have an inner desire to accomplish,
to achieve, to be productive.
It is a human quality that enables people to select
which way they want to go and to determine how fast or how
slow their journey will be.
People have the power to choose the roads they will travel.
They must never forget that they are in control of their lives.

So let the wind blow in your face and circle around you
as you live day to day, but know in your heart
that you are the one, the only one, who really knows which
way the wind blows for you.

I no longer snore...

Sunday, October 17, 2010

My husband mentioned the other day that I no longer snore since I have lost some weight. I had always thought that a 'lady' should not snore for some reason or another -- I guess upbringing! Anyway, I am relieved about this because it just goes to show that my body was trying to tell me something to which I was not listening to.

Then he asked if he snored. I told him that it depended on how he was sleeping but that overall, his snoring had basically stopped. Just for your information, he has lost 4 kgs (8.8 lbs) in the last little while. He was happy about that and so am I (I'm a light sleeper and snoring does wake me up).

In our case, lose weight, stop snoring!

Nice, You are sooo right that snoring is associated with being overweight. I snore like crazy without my sleep mask. I long for the day when I can sleep without a mask. I would guess I am about 125 lbs away.
Those that are over weight and snore (esp. very loud and hold their breath) should get a sleep study, it might add years to your life.

You and your husband should be so proud of yourselves. Your both encouraging.

I wish that would happen for me but snoring runs in my family. My grandparents on my dad's side of the family slept in separate rooms. My dad and brother both snore really loudly. My brother holds his breath in the middle of the night and you lay awake wondering if he will ever forget to breathe. He now has one of those breathing masks.
I am still overweight but not obese anymore. But, I probably still snore. I think my throat is just made to snore. I wish I could breathe in more oxygen through my nose rather than breathing primarily through a mouth that hangs open almost all of the time. (Whine. Whine. Whine. And no you don't get any cheese with that wine.)

WTG! My hubby will be happy when I no longer snore. As I fall asleep before him and I snore, it takes him longer to fall asleep.

    Congrats to both of you!

I've read that snoring is an indication of sleep apnea, which can contribute to obesity.

So you're not only not snoring, you're helping to avoid obesity too!

Yay, you!

Yes it's said losing weight can affect your breathing at night, it's highly recommended for people who suffer with sleep apnea.

Glad to hear of the improvements and your DH's weight loss!

Smaller clothing fitting now!

Saturday, October 16, 2010

Now, this makes me happy. A little over one year ago, I put away some 'smaller' clothes because my closet was too full. I have tried some of this clothing and they now fit. Needless to say but I will now remove the 'bigger' clothing to give space for the clothing that is now fitting me.

I feel ecstatic!

Not bad for my day of rest!

Saturday, October 09, 2010

Today I walked for 30 mins, did a Zumba tape for 20 mins and did a Turbo Jam Burn for 27 mins -- so much for my day of rest emoticon. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it! I also met my goal of 12 miles per week.

I am so determined to reach my ultimate goal...
