It was supposed to be my day of rest today...

Saturday, October 02, 2010

One of my fitness goals is to do a minimum of 12 miles per week. This morning, I realized that I only had 10.56 miles done so this evening I took a leisurely walk and did another 3.26 miles. I did not push myself as I usually do but did more than 14 miles this week. I was so relaxed when I came back home. It was lovely. emoticon

I can see that leisurely walks are important. One tends to appreciate your surroundings a little more. I might try it.

Ye Gads! I've some catching up to do.

Sunday, September 26, 2010

Well our niece and her son just left this morning. It was fun having a two year old around but I can assure you that they take time to look after. My exercise schedule has truly suffered this last week and I have some catching up to do. I will not be able to reach my 3000 fitness minutes for September but sure will in October. Can you imagine that I haven't done anything since last Wednesday!!! Even when I was heavier, I never let so many days pass without doing something. Anyway, I have my schedule back now and I will not skimp either.

OK then, see you tomorrow online! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

actually, under cardio, "playing with kids" is there!! I use it when my granddaughter comes over and she wears me out!! When it comes to losing weight...EVERYTHING counts!! lol

Chasing that baby around has to count for something. All the picking up toys and moving things out of reach constantly, not to mention the running and playing...

Yes! The constant running around after a two year old totally counts as exercising!! But I understand, its not the same intensity!
I totally admire your fitness goal!! I think I'mgoing to set a similar one for October.

I would agree with DEVRIES about the 2 year old. I know what you mean though it's too easy to get out of the routine. Good Luck. Have a great week!

My husband's niece is visiting!

Friday, September 17, 2010

Yes, our niece is visiting from Nigeria. She has a two year old! He's a handful but truly charming. He gets in our way when we exercise so we have to exercise around him and we encourage him to do the moves also. It's quite an accomplishment to finish with him around. emoticon We have just put him down to have his afternoon nap. It's hard to believe that he is the little one who doesn't stop -- aaah! to think that he's regenerating his batteries is quite a reality check -- should he sleep??? Yes, he needs it to grow well.

I have been quite busy with both of them and have not been able to exercise as I should. In a way, I am happy they are only staying for the two weeks because I don't want to slacken off and do want to keep on schedule. Hugs to all!

A little enlightened selfishness to take the time for yourself is a good thing. Some of us never seem to know how to put ourselves first--it takes a lot of determination for me--but the results help set an example for a lot of other people so what I am doing is not completely selfish. So--enjoy the visit, but feel free to rejoice when you can return to your own self-care.

Thanks for your kind comments on my blog.

I hope you have a wonderful time with them while they stay, sounds like you're going to be active with a two year old running around......more than enough exercise, but I know what you mean about your own schedual!

My progress is consistent!

Sunday, September 05, 2010

Since June 1st when I started Chrono-nutrition, my weight loss has been consistent. Since then, I have lost nearly 14 lbs. I redid my weight loss report that I keep in my study and if I continue to lose as I have been, I should reach my ultimate goal around July of next year. It is very encouraging to know that it is now less than one year away.

Chrono-nutrition is not a diet but a way of eating. Certain foods have to be eaten at certain times of the day. That is all... Of course, I continue to exercise on a regular basis. We cannot do one without the other.

Ooops! I did nothing on Saturday and Sunday...

Monday, August 30, 2010

Well, I did have an invitation on Saturday which did not allow me to exercise but on Sunday, well I took it as a day of rest! I stayed online a lot of the day and started to prepare some challenges in the Team Page that I lead.

However, I MUST, repeat MUST exercise today. No more excuses for today. I do feel and sleep so much better when I do.

OK guys, hasta la vista!

Hey one day of rest at least is recommended Lise.
But like you I sleep better and am more alert if I've worked out so I understand where you're coming from.

Have a good day Lise

I used to take the weekend off on exercise. Then I added Saturday. That left Sunday , which I only did yoga on. So far it has remained my day of rest. If you don't count 30 minutes of yoga. Smile.!
I start the day off with exercise, get it done, out of the way.
I am wondering how I will cope this winter, when its cold out side and staying in a nice cosy bed might feel better .
Oh well I'll cross that day when it comes.
have a nice day, get your exercises done, you'll feel great.
