Environment Day!

This morning the Mayor's Office and a local association organized a clean-up of our area's streets. It was grueling work with having to rake, pick-up and push the rubbish in piles and we did this for three hours in the hot sun. My husband and niece were there too! I hope that we have more of these endeavors as it shows people that throwing garbage away is not environment friendly.

Apart from this activity, I am coming along fine with my new regime. As I mentioned earlier in the week, I am now on a way of eating which is called Chrono-nutrition. You may not believe this but I have lost 2.2 lbs in five days! I am very happy about this and it is also very encouraging.

Second day on Chrono-nutrition regime

Chrono-nutrition was created in 1986 by a French nutritionist Dr. Alain Delabos. It is more than just a diet: it's a whole new way of eating that follows the body's natural rhythm and enzymatic secretions. In a nutshell, chorono-nutrition is eating foods at times of the day when they are most useful, to meet the body's energy requirements and prevent storage of food as fat in certain parts of the body. If you want more information on this regime, google Chrono-nutrition. I found it very interesting and most importantly it is well balanced.

Some friends at my Tai Chi class have used and are still using this regime. They have lost weight and what I found interesting was the fact that they were not hungry any of the time.

Although I have just finished my second day, on these two days, I have met for the first time all my nutritional needs and have managed to keep my carbs well within the limit that I have set out. I do believe that this may work for me.

My scale has been giving wrong readings!

Yes, I had to admit to this and bite the bullet -- I actually weigh more than the scale was showing me -- by six to seven pounds! That is OK though. I know now that I weigh more and that more work needs to be done. Back on December 1, 2009, I was actually below 160 and now I am 165.2 lbs. You may say that it's not a lot but I worked hard to get to below 160. Well, if I can do it once, I can do it again. Voila! 2010 is MY year and I will see through this.

I am in the same boat. I got down to 124 last Sept. Now I'm back up to 136. We CAN DO IT!!!

    *Groan* The same thing happened to me when I started here. I got myself new scales for reaching my first goal only to find I weighed more than when I started!

It's so important to keep track of your food intake!

Since my return from holidays, I have not been keeping tab of all my food intake. Of course, I have been exercising but not as regularly as I should so, to make a long story short, I put on a little bit of weight. Oh, it's not bad, only three pounds, but if not under control, it could add up again in no time at all. 2010 is my year to lose my excess and online with you all, I will succeed. I do plan on exercising for at least one and half hours to two every day minus on Saturday when I take a day off. Also, starting this week, I will keep a record of my food intake. If I want to succeed, I must work at it.

    Keeping track of your food is where everything starts. When you can do that, everything else can build off of and improve on the solid foundation.

I'm back!

I cannot say just how much I missed SP and all the friends over the last couple of months. I was very busy with my girls and the grand-children. Trips were also made to visit my two sisters. However, the good news is that I did not put on any weight and actually lost some! You will see me more often online now. On Sunday morning, I will weigh myself and take my measurements so I start afresh.
