This is it... Tribute to Michael Jackson

Saturday, October 31, 2009

You may ask yourself what a 61 y.o. has to do with MJ? Goodness gracious, I practically grew up with him. I was a mere teen when he started singing ABC with his brothers, and my own daughters grew up dancing to his tunes as well as my oldest grand-daughter who is 16. Anyway, last night they showed the movie in Dakar and my husband, my best friend Houma, my niece and I went to see this. It was really nice to see the real Michael in action. It showed what a sweet person he was. So humble too. After the movie, we all danced for nearly three hours to music dating back in the 60s up to present. It was fun and we all enjoyed it (and I wasn't even tired -- pays off to exercise).

A great entertainer, I am so looking forward to the movie coming locally for Jackie and I to go see.
What a loss to the world but at least his legend lives on in his music

It is so nice to hear good reviews about something concerning Michael. He had issues, as do we all, but he was a special person and a part of a lot of our lives..

My daughters and I are planning to go see the movie this next week. I think Michael was one of the greatest performers we've ever had and no one will ever compare with him.

I going to go see the movie next week. It will be the only concert that I will enjoy of Michael. I've seen his little sister, Janet in concert and she's great.

Cholesterol is below 200 for the first time in years!

Tuesday, October 27, 2009

On August 26, 2009 I did a cholesterol test and it came back with 250 g/l! I was shocked because I had never had it so high before. My husband said that it must have been even higher before but because I was exercising so much, that it must have come down some. Anyway, I redid a test yesterday and got a 53 point drop in my cholesterol -- yes, it was 197 g/l. emoticon The first thing I did is call my husband to tell him and the next I am telling you all. I am so happy to be off the 'danger' zone. Exercising and watching my food intake is paying off.

Isn't that great!!! I had a similar experience with my triglycerides. They went from 205 to 123. All due to exercise and cutting way back on refined foods.

Good for you!

Clothing fitting better!

Sunday, October 25, 2009

Despite the fact that my infamous scale shows me a very slow progress, my 'old' clothes are telling me that something is happening to my body in a very positive way. I am in the process of repairing or changing the styles on certain outfits that I have had for a while. Being a very practical person, and also loving to sew, I do not want to just get rid of my old wardrobe if I can do something about it. To me it would be a waste because the clothes are still in fashion. Yes, I will forget about the 70s and 80s clothing but I will modify those of the 90s to fit me again. As for the year 2000 and above, well I was on the heavy side so that clothes can be worn for exercising or around my garden.

Yes, we will see this through. emoticon

When the clothes are bigger, it sure makes you feel good. I use some of the older ones for house/yard work too.

Hardly any cellulite left on my thighs!

Friday, October 23, 2009

I was noticing my thighs yesterday and showed them to my hubby. He was surprised to see that with all the exercises that I am doing, the cellulite has almost all gone from my thighs! I can still see some on my inner thighs because those muscles are hard to get to but let me tell you something -- it will go... This is very encouraging because my BMI is still in the obese section and this difference truly encourages me to continue. Yes let us emoticon

Felt tired this afternoon and...

Tuesday, October 20, 2009

I slept for a full hour and forty minutes!!! Was this a way of telling me to slow down a bit? I told myself that I would re-verify that same question when it was 5 p.m. Nope, it's not time to slow down. Now, I'm going to do a 45 minutes step class and 15 minutes of abs with Jane Fonda. emoticon
