Pittsburgh Marathon on Sunday, May 3rd

Well, I did it! I completed my leg of the Pittsburgh Marathon on Sunday in 2 hours. I ran 7.6 miles! Not bad for an old broad. I thought my knees would give out but they held up. emoticon Thank God! If it weren't for my friends, I don't think I could have made it. The weather was as perfect as it could with a little rain. I can't wait for next year...but why wait, my friends and I have already put together a relay team for the Akron Marathon in September. I think I am hooked!


Day Off

Went to the chiropractor yesterday. Overdid the exercises yesterday and strained my back. Got adjusted, massage and had the stims and feel great. The only thing is he told me to take the day off today and not to do one of the exercises. That's okay by me since I don't like it to begin with. Will take it slow tomorrow and see what happens. emoticon

Losing weight is so frustrating!

I know everyone says that losing inches is better, but when I step on the scale and don't see a single pound lost I just get so depress and frustrated! I really would like to see the weight come off also. Since Sep 2008 I have only lost 10 pounds and over 20 inches total body. I know that I should be happy with what I have accomplished so far but it really gets so that I just want to scream. But I get my butt to the gym and try to watch what I eat and drink the 8 glasses of water and hope that eventually the weight will come off.

    Thanks ANNMAM, your words of encouragement is music to my ears. I know there are others out there in the same mind set as me.   OHHH Yellowrose, you have lost 10 pounds in OCT NOV DEC (Holiday months) JAN AND FEB. I think thats awesome. By August at your rate, you will have lost 20. I bet you can hardly wait, but it will come. Spark People are awesome at not letting us get discouraged. My weight loss is about the same. A pound once in awhile seems so puny but it is adding up. I am back to where I was before my mom went down and I gained all this poundage from sitting in her house 24/7 caring for her and trying to get some weight on her with stuff like WHOLE milk, which i also drank. Being back to that weight is great but I'm planning on going on DOWN. So will you. Please keep me posted!
