Sweet Tooth Challenge Week One

emoticon Emotionally stressed, physically exhausted....

I bombed it today. I ate cookies and cake and a couple of spoonfuls of ice cream. There are also brownies in the oven that I am committing to NOT eat. Those are going to work.

A shrink should come with the sweet tooth challenge. My current shrink is sugar. Arghhhh. emoticon

    I have an IMPORTANT question for you - when you look at the things you ate today, did you do as badly as you would have in the past? You mentioned a couple of spoonfuls of ice cream - I would have eaten a BIG bowl when I started out, not a couple of bites. Think about the successes you have to celebrate and then after celebrating them, and being HAPPY with YOU, look back on the things that didn't go so well and make a plan to do better tomorrow.

Second question, why are there brownies in the oven if NOT to be eaten?? Are you baking for others or setting yourself up to "blow it"?

Sweet Tooth Challenge

On week one of Sparkpeople's Sweet Tooth Challenge so I am posting, per protocol how my day went.

I stayed away from cookies, candy, cake, ice cream....

I ate grapes, drank coffee and ate Fiber One 90 calorie bars.

Since I gave up coffee a while ago and I ate two Fiber One bars I think I am just exchanging one set of calories with another.

The grapes are a good fall back. Tomorrow I will work drinking tea (no sugar) rather then coffee and limit myself to fruit instead of fiber one bars.

    You have made some choices and if you tweak it a bit it will become more natural. You don't expect to be perfect the first day you try something new - you are already making some decisions about how to tweak the plan by switching to tea and fruit instead of Fiber One bars. You might think about adding some other things like a small portion of nuts or something like a frozen fruit smoothie (Ed makes one with water, frozen strawberries or blueberries (or sometimes both), a banana, and a little lemon and lime juice. The flavor is wonderful, it doesn't have any real added calories and it tastes like it SHOULD be forbidden. If it isn't sweet enough, a small amount of either sugar or Splenda will sweeten it up.

List the reasons why you want to cut back. Maybe you want to lose weight, prevent diabetes, manage your blood sugar levels, or just make more room for healthier foods. Keep these reasons in a place where you'll see them every day when you need a boost.


-Lose Weight
-Feel healthier
-Prevent diabetes
-Manage blood sugar levels
-Better vitamin absorbtion (high sugar = low stomach acid which ='s poor absorbtion of vitamins)

I will read this blog each day this week and whenever I "need a boost".

  


Fitness Challenge Setback

Today would be day 16 of the P90x 30 day challenge but for a problem with my T.V. My video's will not play on my computer or my T.V. I went out to the store to buy a new DVD player to only find $30 later that it isn't he DVD player. It is the T.V. My T.V. is undoubtably old but why would the video function stop detecting my DVD player? Everthing is hooked up properly, plugged in properly but nothing, no picture.

I am very disappointed and I am not sure what to do. To add salt to the wound I uploaded wedding photo's of my sisters wedding this last weekend and I was very unhappy with my physical appearance. I need to figure this out. Too many things going wrong at once that I have to invest in (TV, Car). The hole point of P90x was that it wouldn't cost me anything. Now it will.

My frustration level is an 8 out of 10 today. Deep Sigh.... emoticon

    ((hug)) Trouble always comes in threes doesn't it? There are also tons of fitness videos on Spark and on YouTube that are free so you can still get a work-out by using those.

Day 14- FITNESS CHALLENGE - almost halfway!

14/30 day p90x challenge.

Workouts this week were mentally easier then week one. The workouts are hard but a little experience goes a long way. It is time to incorporate better nutrition into the mix.

I feel as if I need to exercise now to feel good as oppose to chill out to feel good. My one rest day a week is good enough.

It is also easier to stick to the program as I travel since it is easy to throw the videos in my bag and do the workout where I go.

My rating of p90x is 8 out of 10.
