The Progress Dress - After One Month

Friday, August 10, 2012

Last month, I posted the first pictures of myself in my process dress. Well, here I am after one month:

I can see a bit of progress...I'd lost about 7 lbs. and 1.5 inches from my waist, so I am well on my way! emoticon

I'll be back next month with more of my progress!

I definitely see progress! What a great idea to measure your progress by how your clothes fit!

I can definitely see the progress in the mid-section. That dress is going to be red hot when you wear it!

The Progress Dress

Sunday, July 08, 2012

One thing that I've always found difficult during my attempts to get in shape is a way to measure my progress. Yes, I see the numbers changing on the scale. Yes, I see the numbers changing on the tape measure. However, when I look in the mirror, it's very difficult for me to see the type of progress that I've made.

During my internet browsing, I came across this website blackgirlsguidetoweightloss.com (do not let the name fool you, the creator of this site has posted a multitude of resourses that can benefit anyone), and one of the blogs posted on the site mentioned having a progress dress blackgirlsguidetoweightloss.com/insp

.

A progress dress is a dress that you may have in your closet, or one that you may purchase that doesn't fit you quite the way you would like it to. Take a picture of yourself in this periodically to see how far you've come. I realized I already had one of these dresses in my closet, so I took a picture of myself in it on July 5th.

I'll post pictures next month so that we can all see my progress.

I JUST got one in red. I was at a consignment store. Found a beautiful red dress for $25-brand never worn and the price was $150 on the tag. Nope it odes not fit but I could see it was possible AND not only that but getting to my other goals of toning would help too. It will look better if I am in shape as well as thin.
Good luck with yours-I might get the nerve up to take a photo too-your dress is very elegant!
