One thing that I've always found difficult during my attempts to get in shape is a way to measure my progress. Yes, I see the numbers changing on the scale. Yes, I see the numbers changing on the tape measure. However, when I look in the mirror, it's very difficult for me to see the type of progress that I've made.
During my internet browsing, I came across this website blackgirlsguidetoweightloss.com (do not let the name fool you, the creator of this site has posted a multitude of resourses that can benefit anyone), and one of the blogs posted on the site mentioned having a progress dress blackgirlsguidetoweightloss.com/insp

A progress dress is a dress that you may have in your closet, or one that you may purchase that doesn't fit you quite the way you would like it to. Take a picture of yourself in this periodically to see how far you've come. I realized I already had one of these dresses in my closet, so I took a picture of myself in it on July 5th.
I'll post pictures next month so that we can all see my progress.
