At 22, she got her own financing, no co-signer, and is the proud owner of this little beauty:

Christmas Caroling - 2011

Monday, December 26, 2011

Until two years ago, I'd never been caroling, never even seen anyone caroling. What an awesome time we had then and again this year. We went to seven homes. At each we sang three songs, with a reading of the Christmas story from Luke 2, with the kids taking turns reading (even the big kid, Vernon lol). Then we presented a little gift to the folks at the door. It was short and sweet and put SUCH a smile on so many faces... mostly OURS! If you've never done this? DO IT!!

First stop was our pastor's house

Lily, pastor's dog, enjoyed the singing!

Randen presenting Ms. Jean's gift:

This year was SO much nicer with our guitarists! My youngest, Melanie (14) and PepperLeah helped us along a LOT with their guitar playing and singing

Wow, this is exactly what Jesus says all the way through the bible.

Fear not, believe only.

There is nothing impossible to him who believes.

He that is in me is greater then he that is in this world.

Keep Jesus as our focus.

Have faith and believe in what Jesus has done and continues to do in us and through us.

He is healer.

He is the lover of my soul.

This is all what came to me as I listened to this.

His blood has made me clean and free from all bondage.

He fills me completely.

Toe owwie...

Thursday, December 22, 2011

As most of you know, two years ago I severed my left little toe in a treadmill accident. (NEVER GO ON A TREADMILL BAREFOOT!) If you haven't read the story, here's the link: www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_jo
urnal_individual.asp?blog_id=2257103

Day before yesterday I was putting on a double batch of New Orleans style red beans. Yummy, right? My huge cast iron Dutch oven was on the floor next to the stove. It's very heavy, so I hefted it up with my right hand. The lid was evidently not on securely and it slid off, its rim hitting directly onto my left big toe. According to the word of God, BLESSED are the feet of them who bring Good News. I live a life that aspires to share the Good News at every turn, so I'm confident in claiming that scripture for my own. Now if I can just get my FEET to believe it! lol

Warning: It's GROSS looking, but it has some awesome colors in it!! The first photo is right after it happened and the second is about 48 hours afterward. The weird looking skin on the left is from the amputation site, not associated with the pot lid. It always looks like that.

A Christmas Flash Mob (This is sure to melt your heart!)

Friday, December 16, 2011

I cannot imagine being out shopping and having this happen. How awesome is THIS?!!

www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vnt7euRF5Pg&
feature=player_embedded

Our life is getting a little nutso but in a glorious way, filled with friends and family and, best of all, friends who ARE family. I will be spending more time visiting and less time Sparking until after Christmas, so forgive me when I'm not here and hold a spot for me for when I return, will you? I'll check in daily but I don't know how much posting I'll be doing, if any. I wish you and your families a joyous Christmas. Celebrate your hearts out! What greater joy could there ever be than the gift of our Jesus being sent to us? Hallelujah!!! I love you and appreciate you, dear SparkFriends.

Thanks so much for sharing this link with us.
It was great to watch. When they started to sing O Holy Night,
my heart soared. It is one of my favorite songs.
But when Mary and Joseph came out with the baby Jesus and then
the people knelt to honor Jesus, that really touched my heart!
Thanks so much!
A Merry Christmas to you and your family!
