The Shredder

Wednesday, June 08, 2011

Thanks to my friend, Vernon, for sharing this one!

A young engineer was leaving the office at 5:45 p.m. when he found the CEO standing in front of a shredder with a piece of paper in his hand.

"Listen," said the CEO, "this is a very sensitive and important document, and my secretary is not here. Can you make this thing work?"

"Certainly," said the young engineer. He turned on the machine, inserted the paper, and pressed the start button.

"Excellent, excellent!" said the CEO as his paper disappeared inside the machine, "I just need one copy."

Lesson: Never, never, ever assume that your boss knows what he's doing.

Beauty in Bloom

Sunday, June 05, 2011

I am the worst at growing things. I've never had a garden. I have killed cactus and air fern in my day. I have one spot in our house where things grow, the window sill above the sink, and this is where my African Violet does its thing. I just had to share with you how beautiful it's little bloom is. I'm so proud of it!!

I only have success with artificial plants. emoticon

Tis the Season

Monday, May 30, 2011

There are a few payoffs for living in the Deep South that make the 93 degree weather in May tolerable. One such benefit is the bounty of fruit, sweet and succulent, that is available to us throughout the year. Today's fare includes two of my very favorites, and they are SO good right now! Eat your fruits and veggies today, and don't forget to drink an adequate amount water!!!

My 2 most favs.I will be fueling the Leer Jet and stop and pick up a few Spark friends to come visit you and enjoy some fresh juicy sweet watermelon and cantaloupe,I hope you don' mind? The weather finally got to 80 degrees and I was craving sweet fruit and dh brought some cantaloupe home and was looking forward to that sweet juicy first taste and it was not very sweet and it was not ripe enough, and was kinda chewey.Wow what a disappointment and the prices are steep.I wish they could bring fruit from your area up here.Thank you for sharing some fruit memories for my taste buds! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I may be camping outside on hot summer nights or in my studio in the garage....lol...how do you take the heat????

Follow-up on WillowWind's passing

Saturday, May 21, 2011

I received the following from SHARMAE (a big thank you to you, SHARMAE!). If you feel so compelled, please send a comforting word to WillowWind's family.

~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~

Willow Winds passed away yesterday morning because of an infection in her pancreas. Her name was Susan Distler. Willow Winds' husband Russ has given permission to post this:

their address is 3906 Nichol Street Newportville, PA 19056

Her husband Russ would so very much appreciate a card and/or a short note. This is a very difficult time for him.
