Love. Isn't it grand? It's what we all need and what we all want. In large measure, it is how I define my life. I am blessed beyond measure with the love of a precious husband who is brilliant and witty and handsome and honest and hard working. I am blessed with the love of children and a grandson who are healthy and filled with promise and hope. I am blessed with the love of a big family, an even bigger extended family, and the best friends anyone could ever even dream to hope for in this life. It is impossible to assess a value for such love.
As big and fine and exquisite as those loves are, they cannot come close in value to the Lover of my soul, the One who IS love itself, Jesus. So often in this life we feel we've let Him down, fallen short of His glory, disappointed Him, failed to live up to what He wants for us. And those things are true. Not for one tiny second do those facts affect the unquestionable, immeasurable, unfathomable, uncontainable, unstoppable love He has for us. On this day when we celebrate love in its many forms, please take a moment to recognize, to accept, to acknowledge, to FEEL, to share the great love our Lord has for us, His bride. If you do, if you TRULY do, every other love relationship in your life will flourish and blossom in greater measure, expend beyond comprehension.
I love you, my Jesus, my husband, my family, my friends, and I am so very thankful for your love to me.
For those of you who may not yet know (How on earth did I miss telling anyone?! lol), my Irishman and I are going to the Mahalia Jackson Theater for Performing Arts to hear Celtic Woman tonight, and as a bit of lagniappe (pronounced LAN-yap, a New Orleans term meaning a little unexpected bit of something extra), just last night we found a room across from Louis Armstrong Park in the very hotel where we spent our little overnight honeymoon almost eight years ago. How cool is THAT?!! So we will be out of pocket until tomorrow afternoon. We have our cell phones, though, and through them, FaceBook. Other than that, see you tomorrow!!!
Have the best Valentine's Day you've ever had!!! Remember to love YOURSELF, too!!!
