When I arrived here on SP, one of the greatest comforts I received was to learn that I was not, in fact, the fattest person in the entire nation, maybe even the world. Then I made the discovery of a lifetime. People at my weight and larger were LOSING it and reaching their goals, recapturing their lives from the decay and destruction of obesity and inactivity. Whoa! It COULD be done. Then, and this is the greatest wonder of all, I started DOING it. Me. ME!! It still blows me away and fills my heart with gratitude. One of my greatest inspirations is NOTABOUTHEFACE and her dear husband, MRNOTABOUTHEFACE. She shared a video blog that I believe is so important, so vital, that every SparkPerson should be required to view. It is so full of hope, so honest, so challenging, so inspiring. Take the time to view it. Please. It will touch your heart in a big, big way. If you know those who may feel their journey is impossible, please, please, please pass the link on to them. (Thank you again, NOTABOUTHEFACE. I love y'all.)

One of the men I most admire here on SparkPeople responded to a post I made on our I Can Do All Things Through Christ team by sharing this link and it so touched my heart that I wanted to share it with you. (Thank you, FILLANGES!!)
The thread is entitled Because You're Mine. It talks about God's love for us being based on nothing other than the fact that we are His. Yyou can read it here if you'd like:

Thank you for the encouraging and wise words you've shared with me. The compassion and faith you've sown into our lives as we try to wrap our minds around the fact that our son has left us and so suddenly. Being a parent is not an easy job. I'm sure God would agree with me. You see, He's still raising ME. lol We trust in God's love for Billy as he embarks upon this new path in life.
On a more pleasant note, we had the great joy of visiting with our grandson, Heath, last night and to finally give him his Christmas gifts. He spent the holidays in New York with his dad's fiance and her family so we didn't get to see him sooner. The three of them, exhausted though they were, welcomed us and blessed us with this sweet, sweet visit. They'd driven from New York back to Louisiana, not an easy drive. Heath is doing so well, growing so much, is such a sweet, secure, and well behaved little boy. We thank God for His goodness in bringing Heath through the trauma and difficulties he endured last year. You know this proud MawMaw has to show off this precious boy!

If you have not had the great blessing of meeting some of your SparkFriends in person... do!! It was our great pleasure to have Pepper and Leah with us, from Florida, for Christmas and New Year's. We miss them so much already!! I am already petitioning heaven, asking the Lord to allow us many, many more days together with them. I know I haven't posted Christmas photos, yet, and I will, but there are a few very rare photos of our beloved guests from our one "night on the town" that I want to share with you. Bill and I have befriended the members of a local, three-piece band. They give my husband the Irish fix he needs! I was able to show off a bit of New Orleans to Pepper and Leah, and that's one of my very favorite things to do. Before some of my dear, sainted SparkFriends gasp in horror and pick up rocks to stone me for bringing them to a pub, know that Irish pubs are not your typical bar scene. In fact, many of them allow children in and it's a place for family fun. A HUGE thank you to Pepper and Leah for spending their holidays with us. We love you so much and can't wait to do it all again!!
This is the Crescent City Celtic Band
(Contrary to popular belief, New Orleans is NOT known as the Big Easy other than in movies. We are named the Crescent City because the first crescent of the Mississippi River curves around New Orleans.)
This is Bill and the leader of the band, Casey.
(Like his shirt? I got him that for Christmas!)

I've been asking Bill to get a photo of him at work for me so I could show off what he does when he's out for his 28 days at work. He got one for me!
